Seems like it shouldn’t be doctor or scientist because of the temperature - 0 clue.

Maybe pit? But does wake + pit = grave?
Maybe something like Scientist? The Venn diagram of the jobs overlaps, and also gives wake. Doctor for the same reason
We got a zero clue when doctor and scientist were our next two guesses. I’m not really interested in ever guessing doctor and I think mortuary/mortician is way better for wake/scientist. A mortician has studied mortuary sciences.
The only other thing I can think of beyond pit, then, is eye.
I don't love either word, tbh. I feel like there's something we're missing.
Unless you think of something better, I think we go wake & pit, and assume that he just missed grave as a clue? Or just wake and leave a list, on the assumption that we get another crack at it?

Was thinking maybe pit but pit + scientist would be F1 prolly, and pit crew is too late in process for aerodynamics so it’s more of a 2-step connection
