Oh my god, how could I miss this topic :( I won't be able to read all the 600 pages but I'll make sure to get familiar with the most recent posts. Meanwhile, is there anyone I could DM to ask questions specifically about live poker (mostly cash) in Manila, especially in Metro?
Thank you so much!

Hi all, I'm strongly considering going to Cebu for a few months to play live and am hoping to find people here that are currently or have recently done the same.
Would like to know best places to play 50/100 NLH, good place to stay etc.

It-Park is the nicest area to stay in Cebu City, and it´s walking distance to Waterfront Casino. Also there´s Voyager Poker club a couple of mins away from It-Park with taxi. Around 1 hour away you also have Nu-star Casino which is the biggest one in the City. Consider tho that being able to make a living, or decent money out of any public games in Cebu will be very difficult.

isn't the rake like 10% 5bbcap or some nonsense like that?

Unfortunately, I didn't really know about Gods of Poker until recently, so I missed out on the series currently ongoing in Phnom Penh, but I see it's scheduled to hit Manila in August.I had planned on basing myself in Manila for a month, playing the tourney series for the 10 days it's there as well as assorted cash games, and then for the rest of the month, hop around the Phils

Okada has a tournament beginning of August. The gods of poker I didn't know about before. I'll likely stay for the whole month of August around the area. Maybe you can check out El Nido or boracay during your stay and go from there. I would not be overly concerned about the weather. For me it's just another month there I don't usually have issues.

Will be in Manila/PH for the next 6 months. I land next week.

If anyone could give me an update on the state of the games, that'd be great.

Any other tips are more than welcome too.

How was it?

I'm finalizing my stay for the last 2 weeks of August in Manila for Gods of Poker, I'll likely stay right in that area.

I dunno man, sounds like El Nido and Boracay can get tons of rain during monsoon season and then you're stuck inside and the island tours get shut down.

I'm trying to figure out what else I'd be able to do and it sounds like maybe Cebu + Bohol is a pretty safe bet. Not the most exciting and was hoping to at least do Puerto Princesa, but I don't want to get stranded in a monsoon or weeklong heavy rain either.

Cebu in my outdated opinion is one of the best bases in PI. Bohol is rad and theres a half dozen other islands to get to easily or hop on a plane. I couldnt imagine living in puerto princessa/el nido area for more than a month as few day tours shows you most of the sites, so unless you're super passionate about diving then it makes for a better weekend trip. Cebu is a good call

Admin, can I check if its fine to mention about poker starting in Solaire casino, Manila?

Thanks for the input. I ended up doing 11 days Manila and 7 Cebu. Probably won't be doing much in Manila besides MTTs and exploring a bit of the city when not playing. Cebu, will be able to use a few days to jump around Bohol. Will look into what else is feasible from Cebu for quick trips.

Hi all, I've just rented a place to stay permenantly here in Cavite City. Settled down comfortably since late April and now am ready to do some live game grinding.
Which and where should I play on a regular basis, as in I can do 3 to 5 days a week, 10 hours daily isn't an issue.
Prefer PLO to NLH, max stake 500p big blind
Greatly appreciate any input, thank you in advance.

Yo Aussie, you still in Cebu?

Ye. Another thing to consider is both Waterfront and Nustar has prop players at the tables, which are local people who are hired by the casino in order to start tables/keep the games going. They play tight, and you might even catch some older gentlemen prop player falling asleep at the tables

Has anyone been to Korea?

There's tournaments in early September after the Gods of poker in August at city of dreams.

A. 03 Sep 2026 14 Sep 2026 Seoul Korea, Republic of APPT Korea 2026

B. 04 Sep 2026 21 Sep 2026 Jeju,Korea Korea, Republic of Triton SHRS Jeju II S5

I haven't been able to get any good info on these yet.

Anybody gone over there from PH and checked it out?

I want cash games, like 5/10 and 10/20 PLO or NL. Also tournament is possible for fun.

Thanks

Has anyone been over to Korea from Philippines to play poker out there, or for a vacation? I haven't been able to get a lot of info about these stops yet:

03 Sep 2026 14 Sep 2026 Seoul Korea, Republic of APPT Korea 2026

04 Sep 2026 21 Sep 2026 Jeju,Korea Korea, Republic of Triton SHRS Jeju II S5

I was thinking about checking it out after the Gods of Poker event in September. Although it also seems like it might be a waste of time to go there if the games are as bad as what I've heard due to high rake or other reasons.

I'd like to play some 5/10 or 10/20 NL cash / PLO cash and maybe take a vacation out there. I only speak English though.
