Would you say you've mastered discipline?

Yeah thats for sure, not even a debatable because I've never deposited again after the first initial deposit, turned 20-30$ into 6k$ and i was always moving down when it needed

When i made this blog my roll reached like 1.5k-2k$ thanks to a BBJ win and i thought i was good, i even played NL50 and NL100 if you see very first pages, but i wasn't good lol and my BRM wasn't good either

Soon after i started losing and doubting everything i knew, i started moving down stakes by stakes while i was keep changing my strategies at some point it was chaos

Back in the day people here were asking me why i play NL10 so long now when i used to play NL100, i played NL10 for a long time yeah and i had to move down to NL5 many times to grind it back

There was a period when everything went wrong i withdrew some money followed with horrible run and my roll went under 100$ again, then i had to move down as low as NL2 and grind there for like 2 months

While i could deposit money from the external sources and just avoid that i never did that you know why? because that was the right way, I've mastered relentless discipline when it comes to BRM

So basically i went through hell to learn many eye opening things along the way to come here where I'm right now without re-depositing a penny thats why my discipline isn't even a debatable, 100% I've mastered discipline, so here goes your answer.

I think he referred to discipline as how you handle yourself at the table.

Regarding BRM - I think if you have the means and skill to play higher, you shouldn't waste your time building up at lower stakes.

Most pros consider everything they own part of their br. Keeping minimum on sites and depo and cashout often.
It's a matter of mindset, you can bust your "roll" mid sess and depo while your tables are still open, it's a technicality and has absolutely no impact on actual long term results.

But who decides that you have the means and skill to play higher? Do you decide that by yourself when starting out?

I know your delusional self doesn’t want to waste time but the longest way is the shortest way

Ultimately you decide yourself, but just use good judgement and common sense.
Good to have some poker friends too to discuss with.

You seem to have a large collection of Homespun Poker Knowledge, like the above about brm. Are these all things you've came up with or are they culled from YouTube videos and hard back poker books?

honestly from the looks of it, seems like you’ve been playing long enough that you’d benefit from looking at some sims, don’t try to copy the sim, just have a rough idea of what spots looks like, especially the more unintuitive ones

careful, he doesn't take suggestions well.

Look how these people are jealous even when a good player gives me some really good suggestions 😃

Sounds good, first i will need to beat 100nl and then probably gonna give it a shot, technically how do you suggest to start it? which solver etc

by blazar m

It was the same suggestion you were given a few pages ago which you refused to entertain 😕

What are we supposed to be jealous of?

by BigBananas m

I am so jealous! The life I am missing out on not being a crappy RB grinder living in mummies flat.

by Masq m

Oh yeah? Can you quote that suggestion and my answer too?

by blazar m

Sometimes it's counterproductive to ignore your own way and follow other people's advice on how and when to study, everything has it's time.As for studying solvers, I believe it's too early for me; I need to fully finalize my own strategy first, and then use solvers to further advance it.The "AHA" moments I'm having on my own right now are things I doubt a solver would teach me

by Xenoblade m

you don’t try to replicate solver, you look at solver outputs and you try to understand why it does what it does by looking at response to said output

I don't want to start quoting everyone but even Xenoblade (the one person you are interested to listen to) recommended use of a solver.

If your memory fails you then click back ~8 pages and read what was posted.

by BigBananas m

What are we supposed to be jealous of?

To have the potential to achieve something that you will never achieve

But tbh when i said you guys are jealous it was half a joke tbh i don’t even care what you have to say, you guys are just a noise here

Couldn’t you come up with any better quote? Because there i said basically the same thing, i need some time before i give it a shot, i didn’t reject the suggestion, to compare: today i told him first i need to beat 100nl and then maybe ill give it a shot

Basically the same response

by blazar m

To have the potential to achieve something that you will never achieve

What do you think gives you the ability to have a higher potential to succeed at poker than everyone else? Is it innate?

by Rolled High, Bro m

Well, when i had to move down stakes and grind there for months then i understood how important is to have big enough roll to never have to move down because you waste a lot of time, then i remembered reading Linus old blog when someone asked Linus about size of his roll and Linus said something like 80BI (don’t remember exactly but it was too conservative) even that guy who asked that question got surprised why Linus needed that big of a roll, when i first read it i also doubted need of that amount but then when i had to go through hell i learned it that conservative BRM is the way to go

by Rolled High, Bro m

I mean for that Banana guy everything is done, he reached his limit, even he won’t deny that, ask him if you want

Don’t tell me now an app bumhunter will become next Linus 😃

You guys can blast me for cold calling with AQo here and then raising OTF and I won't even explain my thought process anymore. Just enjoy a beautiful hand (villain is a reg btw)

by blazar m

I didn't ask about him, I asked about you

by Rolled High, Bro m

I didn't ask about him, I asked about you

So if someone has no chance to move forward automatically i have a higher potential than him obviously no? Also i have huge ambition and dedication

Whats happening!!! am I just having the worst possible run or what

by blazar m

Fair enough. How many hands/month have you averaged this year?

by Rolled High, Bro m

Around 55k but probably volume will drop from now on since i play 100nl where volume goes a bit slower
