great job

yeah, Uranus would be for gas giant but Neptune for figure bc Roman God

great clues and great guessing

I had influencer to end it in 3 turns (star, tube, post, model) but red didn't give me a chance; I couldn't really combine mine with influencer or biology to get it in 2

I did mess up and did 2 when I meant 3 for turn 1, but you had the 3rd one on list by itself so didn't matter since I had to do pickaxe before influencer anyway

Yh there were a few tricksy options there

Also thank god ozzies and brits have the same lingo

👍 I got you

And thank god I finally won one of these. Feels like it's been about 6 years since my last win.

Could someone rand a board for the other match Thread please.

Mozart - 5

He was a genius from Salzburg, but Germany seems good enough to guess. He was also a child prodigy, so kid works.

Much of what was written during his time were dances (gigues, waltzes, etc.).

Sound for the music connection.

He was a bit kooky, as many geniuses are, so nut could be good.

He composed for the court of Austria, so Queen could be in play, but he worked for Joseph II.

Band kinda makes sense for the music connection (though Amadeus - 5 gets band for “Rock Me Amadeus” along with the other stuff)

Don’t really see much else.

murder - 8

America - whole lotta murders here
Band - not capitalized, so prolly not
Battery - another charge (Assault and Battery, with Battery being the actual touching)
Bermuda - the triangle murdered some people, but nah
China - murders here also
Cricket - prolly some pre-match murders to alter the odds, but nah
Dance -
Date - date of death; meh
England - also has murders; some famous ones
Fence - another crime, fencing stolen goods, but meh
Knife - Col Mustard's preferred murder weapon
Mercury - could be used as a poison in murder, but nah
Microscope - used to investigate a murder
Mug - mug shot
Police - investigate murders
Press - they get press, especially if mass or serial
Queen - royalty gets to kill without it being called murder; if Queen is murdered it's an assassination, not a murder; maybe but less likely
Root
Suit - wrongful death lawsuit; meh
Undertaker - need these after murders

locks to guess:
police
knife
undertaker

really like but could be overlooked:
mug
battery

countries:
America
England
China
Bermuda

meh, with potential since 8 clue:
date
microscope
mercury
press

let's start with countries as safer, less likely to be the murderous assassin

police
knife
undertaker
America
England
China
Bermuda

mug
battery
date
microscope
mercury
press

that's 7 so will need to bold one more if all 7 are miraculously blue

gravity - 2

Uhhh.....

In a vacuum (word play!) I'd say Mercury and suit, but surely that combo should be space - 2.

But at first glance I literally cannot connect another word on the board to this clue.

Band - there a such thing as a gravity band? Could still be a Mozart word
Battery
Bermuda
China
Cricket
Dance - is there a dance called gravity? I know MJ had his anti-gravity lean. Was next on the list, would be pretty poor form to reclue it, so probably not good.
Date
England
Fence
Mercury - there's gravity on Mercury
Microscope - sciency, but you can't observe gravity with a microscope
Mug
Police
Queen
Root
Suit - I think a gravity suit is a thing, at least it makes sense that it would be

wtf if happening here? I'm actually not fully confident in any of these words, and only ~50% confident in Mercury. I almost feel like I just need to guess a non-murder word and then pass.

As I do unreasonably often, I ****ed up the list and accidentally removed a word (Press)

I guess you could murder someone with mercury poisoning.
