There's definitely borderline cases. My point about Brunson is that most people probably had him around 10th at best during the season (not borderline Top 5).

I mean he received 0 MVP votes. Was All NBA second team (received the 10th most votes, so definitely only making 3rd if you add players that missed because of injuries e.g. Steph, GA & Edwards).

Dirk in 2011? Would anyone have said he was top 5 when those playoffs started?

he wouldn't have been far off. He had won an MVP and finished third twice in previous years and he finished sixth in MVP voting that year.

Knicks are perfectly built with the new CBA, plus Brunson gave them a bit of a discount.

Plus you can say oh wow they don't have a top 5 player, as others said he's probably like 7th-8th, plus you have OG who is top 15 and Towns playing like top 20-25. The fact we are legit 10 deep with quality veterans also really matters.

I guess Fox is actually a moron. Forgot about this gem.

ALL THE TZ POINTS

full circle!!!

I'm not knocking the Knicks. They're killing it.

Just saying what's happening is rare.

Not many people had Brunson 7-8.

On April 15 The Ringer had Brunson 12, Towns 29 & OG 40. I'd say that was where a lot of people had them.

They'll obviously be higher at season end if they win.

Tatum had made 3 straight All-NBA 1st and 3 straight Top 6 MVPs, so he would have been 6th best at worst I would have thought.

I agree it's rare but its a main way of how you need to build a true championship caliber team in the new CBA.

Naturally.

Obviously a chance this is how it plays out, but it also wouldn't shock me if OKC/SA win the next 5 chips between them.

yeah man, but nothing shocks the great fiddie-star

Once I thought I was wrong. That shocked me.

Kareem called Game 4 the "Miracle on 33rd Street." Too good. He's from Manhattan, of course.

That's rich, but there is a slightly different side to it. In the waning seconds, you know you are being fouled, so in that situation attacking has an upside of 3-point play securing the win, or shooting two, or scoring the hoop up 3 ... and the downside of you can burn an extra second by just dribbling. The disaster with completing the drive is the clean block, Knicks get the rebound ... and there is danger here, Sherie.

He's on a full sprint downcourt, thinks he might have an uncontested layup, when he realizes he doesn't it's too late, has to try to finish, didn't work. You might not even burn one extra second by pulling up.

And Fox has had some huge moments in this post-season, but forever shyt on.

I’ve defended Fox’s decision to go for the layup. He’s also done some really dumb **** during this run.

Spurs are 1,000% trading him this offseason.

It can kinda depend how you're doing the rating. The way dunc'd on does their annual ratings is "You are starting the season with this player and the season starts right now" which obviously means durability matters rather than "You got the NBA finals in 10 minutes and everyone is healthy" and they gotta grind 2 weeks max.

Dearest AIM

I wish the spurs win tonight so the knacks can clinch on home soil but will abide by your preference

Nobody on earth will take him unless haslam owns that team for some reason

…oh ****

I lived in New York for a long time and so still have a ton of friends there. Just got this text message:

"I am closing out conversations with complete strangers such as the windshield repair guy I was just on phone with with "Go Knicks", universally accepted enthusiasm. Telling everyone to try it when they get coffee, it is fun!.

It's like 9/11 only nobody died"

What a wild way end that message lol. But I’m sure the city is buzzing hard. It’s great how sports can bring all types of people together. I can’t imagine if the Knicks close it out, especially if it ends up being game 6.

I think the Spurs are taking tonight, but they’re also liable (likely?) to **** up the endgame again.

Knicks player could be traveling back to thousands upon thousands welcoming them home with the Larry O’Brien.

I can’t imagine a single knocks fan believed there was a chance in hell they’d see a champion while Dolan owned this team

I’d be shocked if the fan reaction to a Knicks win doesn’t dwarf the Yankees WS combined

I can imagine

Celts getting Giannis seems to be picking up steam

As a Bucks fan, the fan part hates the idea of losing Giannis. The rational part says it’s time.

The best deal we can make is one directly with Portland or 3 team deal with Portland where we get our picks back as part of the deal.

maybe Portland gets Jaylen Brown in that?

Would you opine that it was time 1-2 years ago? As a Raps fan, I witnessed management being emotionally attached to the Championship core and getting little to nothing in return of Lowry and losing value in trading Siakam and OG a year later then they should of...
