Go talk to rurals. It will take all day to find one you'd feel comfortable calling proficient at reading. 55% of rurals read at sub jr high levels.... in Trump +50 hell holes it's going to be even lower for obvious reasons.

Much of the US has difficulty reading and rurals are worse across all educational metrics. You cited a state about LA literacy rates with no source, but I understand when talking to a conservative it's racist/bigoted to expect them to meet the same standards they demand of others.

One of the guys who won The Noble Prize for discovering gravitational waves is a product of the LA public school system and I guy I went to school with that's a professor at Stanford went here but I'm sure some extreme white low cognition low performing rural conservative knows enough to make this claim.

I never disagreed that L.A. hasn't produced many of the best and brightest. Pretty hard NOT to have a tonnage of success stories when you a million or so of students in the school district.

If you take 100 random people with degrees, 40 of them voted Trump, and 60 voted Kamala. That difference is not large enough to fit the image you're giving. And considering how hard left universities go (90+% of teaching faculty are left wing, and a sizable number are outright communist which is the left wing equivalent of far right Nazis), which creates a strong bias for creating left wingers among college graduates.
What's more curious is how an educated person wouldn't see this and would peddle in Trump-rural-voter level thinking on this topic. Be more sophisticated please. it's unbecoming.

You have LA confused with some other city. Most educated working age people live in the suburbs and vote more conservative than LA City itself. LA City itself is mostly just recent immigrant working class hispanics, with some wealthy pockets of retired boomers. And some ethnic enclaves of blacks, Chinese, Korean, etc.
A lot of the people voting for Bass or Raman probably dont even know who they voted for. Generally what happens is activist canvasers go through working class neighborhoods, fill out your ballot for you, take it, and then mail it in for you. Which is why all the late mail-ins strategically HEAVILY skewed Raman. Because the activist neighborhood canvasers knew Bass had a comfortable lead, so they all filled out Raman so she would get 2nd place and kick Pratt out of the jungle primary.
