Is this guy the hero LA needs? Is his mayorship going to be the template used to transform all the literal shithole citi
I bet at least some of those rural whites you loathe with every fiber of your being (do they even KNOW their SAT score??) know what a malapropism is, unlike you.
do or die bases loaded 30 seconds left down by 3 wickets 4th quarter
This isn't an example of using malapropisms. "4th quarter" isn't being used in a nonsensical or humorous way which has a different meaning to a similar looking word/phrase. Mike Tyson saying "I might just fade into Bolivian" is a malapropism. You spewing forth common phrases from sports within no meaningful context is not.
I think 'tankie' has morphed into a synonym for 'in the tank for..." I could be wrong though.
You are. "In the tank for..." is a phrase in good standing on its own. "Tankie" only refers to radical left-wingers of an authoritarian type (so, no anarchists, for example), which you'll see for yourself if you Google the term. In this forum, I believe that only Victor and I qualify as tankies (although I don't know if he would accept that designation).
lol…using bases loaded 30 seconds left 4th quarter and wickets is obviously an intentional malaprop even if you didn’t get it. No even semi literate poster would think all intensive purposes was not intentional in that context.
Just one more thing before my weekend hiatus:
Curious you didn't quote the whole paragraph:
For some reason leftist tankies like E-c can't bring themselves to criticize any Dem, even an incompetent like Bass, unless it's accompanied by ridiculing righties. (Of course, right-wing tankies do the same thing.)The Young Turks Ana Kasparian (who is a non-tankie leftist) said she voted for Bass, but also acknowledged Bass' many failings as mayor. For Ana, voting for Bass w
I had that whataboutism covered!

I mean, just look the word up. You'll see that I am completely right and you are completely wrong. Well, maybe YOU won't, because you're remarkably dense...
You're also an incredibly terrible writer, like, almost lozen-level bad, so you trying to own people based on LANGUAGE is quite hilarious. Have you ever read any of your posts? Most of them read like severe campaigns of terror on the English language. You should also reflect on the fact that geezerchess (someone who strongly disagrees with me on almost everything) had the same reaction as I to your word salad in question.
(oops, you missed the hyphen in semi-literate, yet another puzzling mistake from the cunning linguist)

So you think bases loaded 30 seconds left is totally fine. I mean it’s not suprosing given your other posting but it’s still pretty lol to try to defend it after it’s been pointed out
You should also reflect on the fact that geezerchess (someone who strongly disagrees with me on almost everything)
And he'll be honest enough to admit that he made a mistake in not realizing "all intensive purpose" was being used intentionally to mock Lozen. If you're going to be this dumb, you should try to be honest, otherwise you end up being, well you.

I didn't catch that you were using that expression to mock Lozen. But if you claim that's what you were doing, I have no reason to doubt your word.

You don't have to take my word for it. I guess you also didn't catch that bases loaded is a baseball term and baseball has no game clock or quarters so 30 seconds left 4th quarter also don't make sense?
You have LA confused with some other city. Most educated working age people live in the suburbs and vote more conservative than LA City itself. LA City itself is mostly just recent immigrant working class hispanics, with some wealthy pockets of retired boomers. And some ethnic enclaves of blacks, Chinese, Korean, etc. A lot of the people voting for Bass or Raman probably do
lol no. you’re not allowed to fill out someone’s ballot for them. all canvassing I have ever done looks like this: you go to someone’s front door, ask them who they will be voting for, if they say your candidate you tell them when the election day is and ask them to drop off their ballot or go vote in person. if they are undecided or say someone else, you tell them the benefits of voting for your candidate.
If you ever did canvassing before you would know that’s how it works.
Sometimes certain groups will have ballot fill out parties where people can go and voluntarily listen to the spiel of how that person thinks you should vote, but no one is filling out your ballot and they don’t drop it off for you. If you don’t want to vote with them you don’t have to either.
By the way, if you are an activist for Bass you would rather have the Republican on the ballot. It’s pretty funny that you think Pratt is the worse candidate for Bass. Most people who are progressive don’t like Bass, because she ended up governing much more conservatively than what she campaigned on, and people felt her homelessness campaign was botched. Her main support comes from the establishment democratic base. The progressives don’t like her at all so not sure why they would be worried about her advancing to the next round.
The fact is though let's say bottom line for all intensive purposes do or die bases loaded 30 seconds left down by 3 wickets 4th quarter I don't not think you have the processing power to gauge her competence.
I can’t believe 3 posters tried to do a gotchya on this post for saying “all intensive purposes” lmao
That’s some serious bad faith or stupidity.

I caught the sports stuff. I'm a sports fan. I didn't connect it to 'intensive purposes' though. Like I said, I'll accept your official narrative.

It was only a 'gotcha' in the sense that e_d always thinks he's the only smart person in the room when talking to conservatives. He's always going on and on about 'low IQ white rural voters", etc...
For example, if I was always correcting other posters spelling, it would make sense if everyone piled on me for misspelling a word in a post.
You don't have to take my word for it. I guess you also didn't catch that bases loaded is a baseball term and baseball has no game clock or quarters so 30 seconds left 4th quarter also don't make sense?
Maybe use a hockey analogy next time it will make it easier on me to understand 😀
This combination is deeply amusing. As for vote suppression, the opposite is true...packing seems to win over cracking in blacks having disproportionately more candidates of their choice. Incidentally, there's an excellent sociology paper title in there.
I have to confess, someone employing the racist trope 'anyone getting uppity about it' in a discussion about black voters is something I didn't see coming.
I once waited over 4 hours for one of your in-person voting booths. And... a few other times with well over an hour wait.
Unacceptable
Yes it is. It significantly raises the barrier for voting. Not everyone can wait for 4 hours, there can be financial reasons, health reasons etc. And then of course there is likely a lot of people who won't wait for four hours, which dampens voter participation.
I am 100% in agreement with this. That’s why I think a lot of the discussions on voter security are a canard to actually put up roadblocks to voting. The same people that advocate for voter ID are allies with people who argue the 19th amendment and voting rights acts should both be repealed. But I have said time and again that voter ID is fine, but it should be implemented
As long as absentee voting by mail is in place, you can't really fault people for using it, as it presumably stops authorities for making better alternatives more accessible. It then becomes the option a lot of people are left with, and thus they use it. However, system-wise it is not a model I like.
There is of course the problem of security related to identification and handling of ballots, but perhaps an even more pressing issue is that there is no control of the voter's situation. We can easily imagine people voting under duress, being forced to vote, and also that it would be much simpler to sell a vote (you can do that with in-person voting in seclusion, but in that scenario the buyers confirmation becomes impossible).
We have an update
Why isn’t the tweet showing?
You don't have to take my word for it. I guess you also didn't catch that bases loaded is a baseball term and baseball has no game clock or quarters so 30 seconds left 4th quarter also don't make sense?
Nothing within that hideous word vomit you posted made any sense. One thing is clear, at least, those phrases/terms you used were NOT malapropisms. Look up the word! Just look it up. A tiny bit of effort, please.
"suprosing"
Is this a word, you dense mother****er? You can't even take a couple of extra seconds to ensure that you're not posting like a recent stroke victim of significantly below average intelligence.
I can’t believe 3 posters tried to do a gotchya on this post for saying “all intensive purposes” lmao

Another Zionist demon at perpetual war with the dictionary...
This genius can't even spell his own screenname correctly. ****ing confederacy of dunces. It would be tolerable if they weren't ALSO bloodthirsty genocide fans.
I don't know French, but I believe "ecriture d'adulte" means something like writing like an adult, or writings of an adult, which is the most ironic screenname in the history of the internet.
I wrote better as a 12-year-old than you do now. I guess I was right for "suprosing" that I'm a better person than you in countless ways, and that you should do this planet a favor and jump off of a bridge.
