droopy 2026 WSOP 6-14 to 6-20
Starting my 2026 journal - here’s 2024 and 2025(too lazy to start a new report last year)
https://twoplustwo.com/Las-Vegas-Lifesty...
Flying out tonight (arrive 10PM Vegas time), sleep has been affected by all the excitement from reading all these TRs the past couple weeks. Here’s to hoping sleep happens better than last year in Vegas. Staying at Paris so think slight upgrade in room over Harrahs will help. I don’t need much - quiet, clean and stay cool. Last year AC was fighting to keep it cool, charging outlets didn’t work in room and room a little worn/tired (my first time at harrahs). Can’t beat location of Paris.
Plan:
6/15 WSOP Seniors 1A
6/16-6/20 WSOP Seniors continued (will only be 1 bullet) - in reality prepared for some rest when inevitable bust happens. Plus a couple good meals, little pool time, massage or two and plenty of cash games. Will be happy to meetup with some other LVLs if schedules allow. At a USA#n I’d get a kick out of watching a World Cup match with folks from other countries (England Wednesday? My father in law born in London during WW2 and wife lived in England for a year). I’m a big sports fan and these days I’m all about new experiences and viewings….love events and things I haven’t always been or followed. Seeing new stadiums and sports (ie, attended a Japanese League baseball game and loved the experience).
I’ve only played 1 tourney in past year (local MSPT Senior) with fairly early bust (was ahead). Not much study either. Still play cash, 1/3 or 2/5 mostly so not super rusty in that (2times/month average).
I know some reasons, but as a rec I don’t understand why:
1. Firing multiple bullets in a tourney, requiring a deeper run just to profit. Is it pure ROI from each bullet that some feel they have?
2. Late reg, often leading to push or fold very soon. Why would I not spend the time being able to play when I’d have 100BB? Closer to cash style for a few levels. I know I can’t win it in first few hours but maybe I’ll build a stack before needing to shove?
I’m paying for those levels a max late reg would miss.
Not sure how many updates or if live I’ll provide but will make the effort. Inserting pics will hopefully help if lack of word volume.
Speaking of…
Flight delay - ground stop in Vegas. Can’t imagine weather, maybe just real busy with everyone leaving
Best of luck! I admit that I wasn't excited for this World Cup at all, but now that I'm out here among all the fans, I'm getting swept up into the fever a little bit. I've seen a lot of kits around the city these last few days.
Not generally a late reg proponent, but I think the idea is that it maximizes your hourly rate and gives you a decent chance to cash if you can win a couple all-ins quickly. Like you, I skew more towards, "In my seat for level 1." I want to maximize the amount of time I get to play deep stacked with the worst players in the field, and that means playing from the start whenever possible.
I don't know if I've ever fired more than two bullets on the same day in the same tournament, but I suppose the logic is that each bullet is a separate proposition that we should view as being detached from all the other bullets. In other words, if you've bricked 5 bullets into a MTT, but you think the event is long-term +EV for you then you are making money every time you register.
Thanks Dog, logic makes sense and certainly a case where YMMV.
Arrived about hour late and despite being up for long time (also did a trail run in AM where I sweated out 4 pounds) had to taste 2-5NL at WSOP. +172. Now planning on Day 1A with card in air in 8 hours.

Looking forward to updates!
Well, good news is I have some time to relax, workout, massage, meet folks, etc. that’s also the bad news - out of event 46. Don’t think I dragged a pot last 3 levels after reaching a peak of 26K off 20K starting. A couple times I had something, others better. My opens or flop continuations were 3 and 4 bet.
While I understand how tournaments can go and realize last year was a great run…still feel the sting of a whiff. That’s the cash mindset where you expect to win majority of sessions, even if they’re small wins. Tournaments don’t work that way.
Settled into the room - badly need some rest. Plan was always the fire and day 1A today but after waking up with maybe three hours of sleep in a long day yesterday, I seriously considered punting today and going tomorrow. While I realize I can fire it up on day 1 B not sure that’s what I wanna do. I’m going to view the list of tournaments the rest of the week and see if I wanna try another. Or maybe cash game Bonanza
Some solid players for sure - a couple guys with $500, 000 plus earnings
JJ was only big pair in 5 hours. Next biggest pair was 55. Had AK and AQ a handful of times in spots to 3bet. Best pot won was AK.
Looking at tourney list for next few days to see if I want to fire one
F it…my momma didn’t raise no quitter. We should fire Seniors 1B tomorrow. Already took a nap and feel better, play some cash tonight but get better sleep and slay some tomorrow.
Managed a solid night sleep of 7-8 hours. Badly needed. Allowed myself to get up and head to gym for a 30 minute bike zone 2 sweat session. Wanted to hit pool for 30 minutes and some vitamin D but doesn’t open until 9AM (insert oldmanyellsatclouds.jpg). Opted to stand on Vegas BLvd for a good 15 minutes for some sun. CVS for some healthy food options.
Registered for 1B and they sent me to horseshoe blue. Feeling better today - GL to the others in same tourney and maybe we can connect during a break.
1st break coming back to 31K from 20K start. Made a couple nice hands and got paid. Quality of play seems much stronger at my tables than last year. Probably part of the variance that is tourney poker.
Still hanging around, mostly competent players at my table. 45K entering level 7 with 400-800/800 blinds and antes.
Gogogogo!!
Ship it!
68.6 at dinner
Looking forward to a droopy/feel wrath heads up match at the final table. I will be on the rail if that happens! Gogogogogo!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’d take that final table matchup in a snap.
We bagged at 79K (average 87k) and coming back to 1/2/2 blinds, so some wiggle room but not a ton. Just over 900 left and 600 paid. I’m kinda glad my table is changing, a handful of solid (better than me) tourney players.
General observations and notes:
I miss clicked on bet sizing once or twice pre-flop or on the flop
Big double with 30 minutes left - 3bet AA on button UTG+2 open to 9k after he opened to 3500 with 1/1.5/1.5 and he ripped with 10-10.
Tourneys are more fun when you make a couple hands.
Very flat payout until you get below 200 total of the 7000+ 2 day 1s. Day 1A down to 113 and still about$3K. So while cashing is achievement I can’t sit and blind down just hoping for that.
Good luck today, run pure and hot!
Another good update to read this morning.
Good luck and run good!

Good luck today.
1st break - at 99K. First orbit had. Couple nice ones, gave it back in a big 3 way pot I’ll post later. I had A-Q with Q spade
Just had a roller coaster. A3 spades on A48 2 spade flop. Guy called 5 turn and I checked back 7 river. He had 10-6 spades. Ugh for half stack.
Next hand I ripped QJ spades on 9-10-2 with 2 clubs. Guy tank called AJ and miracle 8 river. With 50 before the $$. Need a cigarette and I don’t smoke
