2026 World Series of Poker May 26th - July 15th
Anyone with common sense and basic understanding of rfid signaling knows that there is a way of βhackingβ a secure sensor (even if I donβt know how to hack it, Iβm sure its βhackableβ)β¦.being able to do it real time and have that be used to a players advantage is still up for debate.
If he was making too much, why didnβt you offer them lower cost loans and make nice, but more reasonable profits?
Not quite following your logic here. Are you saying that you can't criticize Katz unless you're also in the student loan business and offering better terms?
That might be the single dumbest argument I have ever read on any forum in my entire life.
But I guess I shouldn't be surprised, anyone with over 13k posts on a poker forum is obviously not of sound mind.
Not lol at all imo the exact opposite
FOR WSOP - They usually have a pretzel company or some other dum stuff that nobody gives two chits about. For the fisrst time they pick a strategic partner, that has some synergies with their core business. Rem that WSOP is owned by NSUS now. This was a sponsorship sale at face, yes, but one that comes with alot of longer term strategic advantages
FOR SOLANA
Marketing strat for Solana Foundation (since late '21) has been exclusively focused on marketing to crypto natives. This is the first time theyve done ANY marketing to normies (gen population). Using poker community as a first step in that makes perfect sense. Perp trading accounts for alot the activity right now inside the solana ecos. Over the last 12 months prior, it was full on meme coin trading PVP. Lots of overlap between all of that and poker.
Its synergistic for both orgs , bigly
So why do u think its LOL ?
weve all seen Kabhrel all ove the streams this year. Im watching the 100K final.
I dont even care what hes doing, hes antics are all sort of forced. super kringey, but whatever. he can do what wants. he obv thinks it helps him in some way
But I dont get how the other players at the table just sit there and let his annoy fest spew on. For me it would suck all the fun out of the experience. I woudnt be able to handle listening to his shrilly little voice and constant stream blah blah blah for more than 5 mins. without telling to stfu. They are sitting there for hours.
How can the other players just sit there and not put an end to it?
Golfers 100% used to put up an entry fee for tournaments. Went away with the explosion of TV and sponsorship deals oh maybe two decades ago? Gotta be old to know that.
Anybody stupid enough to pay Katz's terms to get a useless degree deserves the privilege of lining his pockets, I have no issue with that at all. He broke no laws, offered a service, and people who signed up are responsible for their own actions.
pretty easy actually. I wouldnt call the floor anything like that. thats lame and would lead to endless argument about whats allowed and not
Id just start calling him out to his face , right to his face, and tell him how badly hes coming across as a total clown. and grill him on that every time he opened his peep,
if that didt wiork, Id start calling him clown boy and troll him while he was in a hand. on and on , it wouldnt take long for him to be shamed into stopping
shocks me none of the players tok any effort to make him stfu

Pro golfers were paying an entry fee for quite a while, that is true, but, it was a small fee , they were not funding the actual prize pool like with poker.

Exactly. Scanning cards after the hand is way safer.

Who cares. People love terrible analogies. Nobody wants to watch the best poker players in the world play bc it's boring as hell. Meanwhile with golf people do want to watch that so there is big sponsorship money coming in.
Those prize pools don't come out of thin air. How much sponsorship money is coming in for some wsop stream? It's a rounding error compared to golf.
Even in the golden age of online poker if people went deep they could get big money from the online sites. But those sites weren't spending money for Joe Blow on day one of an event when he wasn't even going to be on tv.
Expecting sponsorship money for poker for people who aren't generating any revenue for a sponsor is like expecting a sponsor for a run of the mill golfer teeing off on his home course on a Tuesday afternoon.

Oh, absolutely.
Golf has two things going for it. Most importantly, people will watch it on TV in large numbers. Also, marketing to golf-playing viewers is very lucrative. They will buy the clubs, the apparel, the balls, the tees, the equipment. There's not much to market to poker players other than online poker sites, and coaching sites. And online poker has seen better days, obviously.
If the sponsorship dream didn't happen in the mid-2000s, there's no prayer of it happening now. The new generation of hold'em players have collectively made televised poker an AWFUL product. Who would watch these losers that tank for five minutes and shield their face whenever they're in a hand? Only people like us who still post on poker forums. There's not enough of us. Ain't happening.

Kabrhel antics started what a year or two ago? Those high rollers have almost zero rec players because almost all of those guys are pure torture to play with. Sure they're quiet but torture nonetheless .

The other part people often seem to miss is in a world where we have sponsorship pools, basically no one here would be allowed to play. Those tournaments would be restricted to βnameβ pros, celebrities, and other people they viewed as good for TV.

In your scenario, youβre more likely to be penalized by the TD than he is. I agree his antics are ridiculous , but the reason they work is heβs very well aware of what he can do within the rules. Part of his goal is to provoke people to do exactly what youβre suggesting.
Yeah, engaging with kahbrel would make it worse, best to ignore him. I think last year schulman threatened to punch him? I could be misremembering

Criticizing the cost of a service someone offers because you donβt like the price is silly when the transactions are consensual. The fact that his customers accepted his terms is direct evidence they thought the terms were reasonable, even if you donβt think they were.
The effective solution for anyone you think is price gouging in a free market is to organize competitors, not to whine or troll.

This. Much of the whining is from students who, voluntarily mind you, took loans to get some bullchit Gender Studies degree and then find out how useless that is in the hiring marketplace.

You dont have to sit there and cuss him out. Just troll him...**** with him while hes in a hand a bit...etc.
Itd get to him no doubt

My guess is that it wouldnβt and he would in fact be delighted to have a dancing partner. His greatest βassetβ is non stop energy and commitment, if you arenβt ready to do it the entire tournament itβs bringing a knife to a gun fight. He was quite amusing on million dollar game, making fun of himself and engaging with crowd. If you are a boring hoodie GTO guy best to enjoy with you can and ignore to your ability what you donβt.
I’ve heard about him, but not actually seen him in action. if he does this while in a hand some of the other players are probably fine with it as it’s very difficult to not end up giving away information. I was reminded of this last night watching negreanu set up a later move by way of the hand where he had a pair of queens. He proceeded to oversell the idea he was only worried about a 6 making a straight v. him & Mullar picked him him off (btw, DN seemed out of his league with those guys, esp not value betting a nut straight when there was an unlikely flopped flush on the board).
A couple suggestions if they donΓ’t violate WSOP rules: 1. If you’re next to him when he starts yammering, turn on your phone voice memo, record him, then play his babble back to him over and over. 2. DL and run google translate with live translation function on and set to whatever language you think would be most annoying (just using English might do it).

Do you think that nobody has thought of this during the entire time Kabhrel has been playing poker?
lol at "shamed into stopping". The guy is autistic; he doesn't feel social shame in the way you and I do. If you were to go after him like this, he would simply say some trolly things back to you, and before long, you would get stuck in a pathetic little bitch-off that a neurotypical person ain't gonna win any time soon. And then the one time you start cussing, or whatever, he'll whine to the tournament directors that you broke the rules, and you would soon be receiving penalties.
Don't get me wrong, his **** is annoying as hell and I'm sure I'd tell him to shut the **** up, but I wouldn't expect that to do anything except for me receiving a penalty and/or perhaps making me feel a little less badly about having to sit with this dude for hours on end.
Oooh, you would call him "clown boy", that will surely devastate him and render him speechless forever! Come on, buddy.

I'm extremely sure that people have done this to him on many occasions, yet he's still doing his thing.
"It'd get to him". NO. No, it would not. At least not in a way that wouldn't simply create an environment with which he's way more familiar than you.
I've played with 4 players that were on another level with how exhausting they were to play against. Some just annoying or rude to the dealers. Others attempting at least one angle in every hand they play.
Amazingly I knew three of them by reputation before they sat down.
Only one was in a cash game and he didn't last 20 minutes. Table broke as soon as he sat down.
Pretty cool how the WSOP app offers you the option to purchase your tournament buyins using a debit card to avoid the 2% credit card fee (it explicitly states this) then when you get to the end of the purchase slips the 2% on hoping you won’t notice.
Zamani doing some successful double dipping.
