Casino du Lac Leamy (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada)
I did not find a thread in here for this casino.
I'm an American planning on being in Ottawa for a couple weeks later in the month for work.
I've never played poker in Canada before and I was hoping someone could tell me what differences I can expect from poker in the US? Normally I play $1/$2 NL or $2/$5 NL. What are the buy-in amounts? Any special rules?
I speak NO French at all so I'm wondering how difficult it's going to be for me to keep up with the game. Are the dealers tolerant of people who don't speak French?
Thanks for any help.

Lac Lemy has added a 1/3 $350 cap which started yesterday.
So now:
1/2 $250 cap rake is 10% $8+2 (bbj+promo)
1/3 $350 cap same rake as 1/2
2/5 $1k cap 10% $10+2
5/10 $2k cap 10% $10+2
We will see how the addition of the 1/3 affects things but it seems like it may hurt the 2/5 games.
Thanks to everyone who has participated in this thread. Came here looking for an Ottawa/Lac Lemay topic and was pleasantly surprised to find one.
Anyone know how the day time action is at Lac Lemay? I have some random days off coming up and looking to play some live poker
Also, does anyone know if Rideau Carleton/Hard Rock have poker yet?

Hard Rock at Rideau Carleton Racetrack hasn't even opened yet. Supposedly in the fall, and then word on the street is poker won't even open with the casino. It will follow after.
Action is okay at LL. 1/2 is ofcourse always soft. 1/3 is hit and miss. Often more shitregs than 1/2 and not just 100% passive limpers every table. 2/5 and 5/10 both hit and miss. Sometimes great action, sometimes very reggy.
They recently added four 50c/$1 electronic tables. Ostensibly to "attract new players who want to try it for less money and without the chips".
Lac Leamy is now on PokerAtlas.
They are running tournaments now, weeknights M-T starting 7:15pm.
Starting June 19th, 2026, the poker room will be open 24 hours on the weekend and until 5am on weekdays.
L'instant restaurant and menu launched on June 4, 2026. It is in the casino basement.
Hard Rock Casino in South Ottawa still has no poker room and no sign of one coming. Word on the street is that local management doesn't like poker.
