We went with it, and our chips went to the elderly gentleman in the military cap.

Just a thought, if you had plans to depart after South Point, wouldn't it make sense to hand over your luggage to bell hop at South Point? One less trip to Castle once you are done.

Made my worst play of the trip a short time ago when I left my backpack with laptop and 2k cash on a seat in Eataly. I was 3/4 of the way to the elevators when I noticed. Cue me running through the casino in hopes of finding it.
Luckily it was right where I left it. Running good on and off the felt this trip.
No early poker today. Hitting the pool for a while and then debating various PM options.
3 PM WSOP $240 Satty
4 PM Orleans $240 HORSE
6 PM MGM $500 NLHE 2 day
6 PM Wynn $1100 Turbo
7 PM Aria $300 NLHE
8 PM WSOP $200 Turbo
Will weigh the merits of each option and make a call. Leaning Orleans or Aria at present.

It's already too late, but I would've recco'ed the WSOP satty. Assuming it's a cash paying satty, you'd get $2000 and could enter any of the other ones and only be an hour or two late.
SUMMER TRIP DAY 10 (6/15/26)
I checked out of Harrah's, dragged my bag over to Park MGM, and was able to get instant early check-in for no extra cost. I've passed through the property a few times, but never had the inclination to stay here until I got this friendly one night rate. I'm glad I was able to get a closer look at the hotel. Moving forward, Park MGM will be high on my list if the rates are reasonable in the future. I like the vibe here and the no smoking factor is an added plus.
After I unpacked my stuff, I headed down to the pool for some leisure time. I'm not a veteran of the LV pool scene, but overall I was pleased with the setup here. They have three separate pools and plenty of umbrellas and chairs for shade. The music wasn't deafening or obnoxious. My only complaint is that there's not much room for actual swimming in any of their pools, but I suppose that's typical of pools here. You'd almost have to try to drown because everything is 4 feet deep or less.
While I was lounging, I whittled down my MTT options for later today. I've played a lot of NLHE already on this trip and in general, so I opted for the more unique option of the 4 PM $240 Orleans HORSE. This would give me a chance to get a few more reps in these games at a modest price point. Since this TR started in the Orleans, the idea of finishing there also felt appropriate. The 4 PM start gave me plenty of time to unwind and grab a lunch before heading over to the casino.
I had seen one of the deli workers in Eataly assemble a Caprese salad while drinking my coffee here yesterday and it looked pretty good, so I went back and ordered one today. I'm not going to lie, I didn't really need all these huge tomato chunks in my life. I think the Caprese works better in sandwich form, like the one the Earl makes. In its salad form, I'm not so sure. The mozzarella and basil still meshed well though. Certainly wasn't a terrible dish, but it's not something I would order again. I'll give it a generous 7/10.
I made it to the Orleans with plenty of time to spare. The tournament start was delayed about 15 minutes due to unexpectedly heavy demand for their O/E championship, which attracted in the neighborhood of 200 entries. Mixed games are the future? Eventually we got cards in the air. While we were playing, I noticed a familiar face a few tables away. It was none other than LVL trip report icon BigWhale. He also decided to play the HORSE today. I was able to say hello to him and his brother briefly during the first break. Last I heard, he was faring much better than I did.
I played well for the majority of the session, but also ran into some stuff and made a few blunders. It was a reminder that my HORSE game is not ready for prime time quite yet, and validation for NOT firing the $1.5k WSOP event last Wednesday. My 30k starting stack peaked around 40k before some bad hands dropped me into the danger zone. I was unceremoniously eliminated in a LHE BB spot on the first hand after the second break. No deep run for me in this one. Despite bricking the tournament and making a few errors, I still think playing this was the right choice today. NLHE is always available. On the other hand, opportunities to sharpen my skills in these other variants are more elusive. I'll continue to seek them out when the price is right, and eventually I'll cash one of these HORSE tournaments. At the moment, I am a lifetime 0-for-5.
I hit the carpet highway and caught a ride back to the Strip.
The remainder of the day was not notable. I hit Shake Shack for dinner and wandered around the Bellagio and Paris.
This trip is winding down. I'll have a few hours of walking around time tomorrow before I hop a plane home. Then I'll drop a more comprehensive recap of the trip, with some final thoughts and comments on my days here. I'm not exactly itching to leave, but it feels like the time is right to say goodbye for now.

I have a style that seems to work pretty well for me, and have learned a lot from trial, error, and experience.
It would be hard to transfer that to a different person.
Congrats on the South Point run. I'm very curious what time you guys chopped it. I'm landing in Vegas on June 27 and potentially have free tickets to see Jerry Seinfeld at the Colosseum through Caesars Rewards. I had thought about hopping in that daily 10:10 a.m. South Point event after I land, but wanted to make sure it would be over in time for me to see Seinfeld.
I can only be grateful for another fortunate outcome. I played well, but you need to catch cards to run deep in tournaments, and as you can see I caught a lot of great situations today. Deep runs are funny. On one hand, poker seems like such an easy game when we're running hot. On the other hand, deep runs always leave me a little unsettled because it reminds me just how much needs to go well to make it deep. And then with anything short of a win (or maybe a top 3), I think of how many things went my way and I still didn't get the result I was hoping for. But we just keep coming back for more.

Caprese works better with slices of tomato and mozzarella (or at least smaller pieces). I want to be able to slice off a neat stack of well-proportioned tomato and mozzarella rather than saw through a pile of huge chunks. And the whole experience is very reliant on the quality of the tomatoes. High ceiling, low floor.
