I was going to mention he remind me of Hovland.

But Hovland fixed his short game and it leaked into his full swing and he hasn't been the same since.

does not matter, won fed ex cup while also displaying the golf balls to shoot final round 61 at the bmw to hunt down scottie and mfitz

J.B. Holmes qualifies for his first USO since '19

an 8-for-3 playoff up next

8 for 3 is brutal, hope it goes at least nine holes 😃

17-year-old Miles Russell birdies the second playoff hole in his home state of Florida to book a ticket to the first of many many major championships during his golfing life

only if he keeps charlie 'fluff' woods on the bag

How does Miles Russell and Blades Brown stack against each other if anyone with knowledge wants to opine?

Miles is an amateur going to college next year. Blades is a professional golfer with decent results so far.

KEPKA

Seems like extremely easy pins today.

As a CDN I find the hockey rink think just a bit dumb curious what our non Canucks think about it. Sad to see with the future of the tour this will be a tier 2 event though

I don't know. If everyone is respectful and quiet when the player wants it, I think it's fine. When someone like lowry encourages them and enjoys it, it's kinda fun.

Yella Belly a top ten

All in on Rory?

Great hole by hole overview of what the players are going to face this week.

All in on Rory?

Rahm's time.

no FIGJAM at this USO

ceremoniously excommunicated from his longtime private golf club in his hometown of San Diego for unsolicited sexual advances against a Club employee

all FIGJAM memorabilia has been stripped off the walls of The Farms Golf Club

this is likely to be the last USO that DJ will play

Forecast for Thursday is calling for 15-25 mph winds with gusts to ~45 mph. Greens supposedly slower than in 2018 when balls were blowing off the greens and play had to be suspended. Pros tend to handle rain and cold pretty well, but high wind messes with their head.

13 out of the last 17 US Opens have been won by 1st time major winners. I'm thinking Cameron Young is a good candidate this week. Straight and long with a decent short game. Also like Alex Smalley, a mere wisp of a man, but if he can remain upright without getting blown off of the course, I think he has a shot.

Fun Fact: 654 players have teed it up at Shinnecock Hills in a US Open. How many have finished under par?

Spoiler

3 😮

Retief Goosen (2004): Finished at 4-under par to win the championship.

Phil Mickelson (2004): Finished at 2-under par as the tournament runner-up.

Raymond Floyd (1986): Finished at 1-under par to win the championship.

same, one of the many reasons i love the open championship - they make them play in any weather, conditions be damned.

good time for thick legged euros

LFG

foggy as all get out

** play suspended **

I get a little bored watching tournaments when the players tear up the course. This should be a lot of fun to watch.

Just a tad breezy out there.
