Hot Fun in the Summertime: Lounge LC Thread.

As some of you know because I often mention it, I go days in the summer without seeing anyone. This week has been different. Monday I saw my kids. Tuesday, pet sitting for my friend. Wednesday, still pet sitting and went to dinner with two of my colleagues, one who just moved to Narragansett, RI from Worcester, MA. Thursday, my two former administrative assistants came to see me for lunch. Last night, went to dinner with another colleague.
And just now invited to dinner with another colleague. All women of course.
I don't know what's happening. Usually I spend four or five days a week not seeing anyone.

Summer in Alaska is incredible.
Charlie,
What the hell is up with London weather?

Oh, man. Forecast is: Tuesday 35, Wednesday 36, Thursday 35, Friday 33. Or whatever that is in Fahrenheit. They're making me think in terms of Centigrade, against my wishes.
Back to my old routine of not seeing or talking to anyone (texts don't count) since last Saturday.
Must be my dynamic personality.

HAPPY SUMMER!
Has been/will be a busy summer. Just got back from LV and next week heading to Milwaukee for a Brewers series. All the while the White Sox are in strong contention. My ultra ******ed White Sox/Brewers world series matchup parlay actually doesn't look hopeless (although it probably is). If it comes in drinks are on me 😀 Then I have another alumni Brewers game get together in mid July and then a trip in late July to Olympic National Park in Washington.
At the same time my life is in somewhat disarray. While I was in LV we got hit with a massive storm that caused flooding which pretty much destroyed my basement/man cave/office. None of my stuff got destroyed but all of the carpet and drywall needed to be taken out. So all of my computers, TV, stereo etc. are secured under plastic waiting for the repair crew. The cleanup crew was quick but the repair crew is undetermined. The insurance guy is coming over tomorrow so hopeful the "fix" will start happening soon.
Anyway this should be a terrific summer.
I found out it's almost impossible to get insurance for a car that costs more than 400,000.
First world problems.

Celebrated a badly needed monsoon at 530am with a small piece of mint chocolate & a glass of mango Keffir.
I want to play some 2-7 & Big O tournaments at the Bike next month, and attend the Stephen King convention at the AC Tropicana in October. It will require a big hit in fantasy golf, but I think I have an angle on the British Open.
The HVAC unit on the roof next door has suddenly after 5.5 years become loud af.
Seems like the heat wave is going to hit New England this week. I'm going to NYC in two weeks, but I'm glad it's not this week when temps will be around 100 for three or four days.
In other news, the people from Scotland for the world cup are fabulous. They have even been in RI for a couple days.
Skip to the 11 minute mark when these two guys go to The New York System for hot weiners. It's a RI institution, and you can tell it's not the best area of the city when late at night, customers cannot go inside but need to use the plexiglass window.

White Sox in first place and Red Sox sweep the Yankees. How is this possible?

Long ago iirc when you bought an ultra premium car, insurance maintenance detailing etc was all part of the package and the dealership was a one stop/ concierge sort of thing. You were buying a lifestyle & convenience.
LOL being on the phone for thirty minutes with GEICO about your new Maybach before somebody making $40K/yr tells you the algorithm says no.
It's certainly not me who's buying a 450,000 car, but my friend is. He said he didn't have trouble insuring his previous car that was 300,000.
As one friend asked me, "Are all your friends rich"?
"Yeah, pretty much so. Unfortunately, we are community college teachers."

I just paid rent using a wire transfer, which I have been doing for the last five years. Banking on apps is so much easier these days.
Back in the old days, I went to the bank to deposit a check. It was for a thousand dollars, but I only wanted to deposit 900 and take 100.
The teller wanted to see my ID. I asked her how many miscreants are going to banks these days and depositing most of the money but holding back a small amount.
Bank policy she said.

Dumbest bank policy I've ran across was the time(s) they wouldn't cash a check because my DL was expired. I don't become Not Me because I'm irresponsible ffs.
My bank stopped allowing cash back when depositing a check. Now you have to deposit the entire check and then write a check or do a withdrawl to get cash. Goesn't make sense to me?
