Alternative approach to HUD bans & All-in Cashout fees: A better way to protect the ecosystem

Hi everyone (and specially to the CoinPoker Rep),

As a High Stakes Regular, I've been following the recent discussion about the HUD ban and its impact on cash game traffic. I understand the site's goal is to protect recreational players, but completely banning third-party tools simply drives away the regs who keep the tables running, without really fixing the root cause of why casual players lose their money so fast.

Instead of a restrictive approach, has management ever considered an educational gamification model driven by real-time player data?

Here is the concept:

1. The Trigger: A casual player goes broke (busts out) after a session where the software detects they played with catastrophic stats (e.g., a VPIP of 60%+ or an extreme lack of aggression).

2. The Incentive: Instead of letting them leave the site frustrated, a pop-up appears: "Hey, we noticed you played a bit too loose today. We want to help you bounce back. Here is a reload bonus, but it will unlock ONLY if you complete a challenge: play your next 300 hands keeping your VPIP under 30%."

3. The Result: The recreational player treats poker like a video game mission. They learn how to play tighter and "better" almost without realizing it, their deposits last 5x longer (generating way more rake for the room over time), and the tables stay active.

On top of that, we need to talk about the All-in EV Cashout feature. Right now, charging a 3% fee is an absolute rip-off that heavily penalizes players trying to reduce variance. This fee should be capped at 1% maximum to be fair.

Both of these adjustments—implementing a data-driven educational system for casuals and offering a reasonably priced All-in Cashout—would be highly praised by any Responsible Gaming board or regulator. It proves the room actually cares about protecting losing players from variance and self-destruction, rather than just using "ecosystem protection" as an excuse to drain wallets faster through massive fees and unescapable rake.

Curious to hear what the community and the CoinPoker Rep think about this. It seems way more productive than just shutting down software support, charging predatory fees, and watching cash traffic decline.

It's in progress and a priority, I'll post an update here as soon as I know more. Sorry it's taking so long.

Come on guys, you're kidding, right? After several updates, this feaure ("Sit out next bb") still hasn't been added, even though it's such a simple one...

are hand history available for download yet?

Think someone found that it actually was a feature on the Indian software, so it’s more why it was removed than when are you adding it

Some really good suggestions here. I took my 5k/month penny stakes rake to another site until they bring hud back. I like the ideas you pose. I think soon they will add 1 or 2 stats the the coinhud and say since it more robust 3rd party is allowed again.... really the only option they have and way to save face to stop the decline of cash games .

The in house HUD hasn't update in months. My stats in particular have not changed at all. If this is our only option, could we have regular updating please? Honestly this site is becoming increasingly undesirable to play on as time goes by. It's a shame.

They get sent over email if you click the downward arrow button next to your balance, then PokerIntel then Game History, you should see a button and a date range.

Click on either "From Date" or "To Date" button (doesn't matter which) and just select 2 dates from the calendar then hit OK.

If you're going to force us to use the inhouse HUD, could you at least make one that filters by game type Right now it is useless against someone who plays both HU and 6max.

I'll pass this on, also please email it in as well then they'll see it twice. They do plan to work on improving PokerIntel, I'll try to chase this up.

Hi thanks for that, great ideas I'll pass on.

There's going to be tournament missions, and cash game missions for all players, trotmant has just done a nice tweet explaining it and the full announcement should be out today.

Those might not work exactly as you've suggested but do vary in their equivalent rewards % depending on how much a player has been losing recently. At the moment they generally just require a certain amount of rake, or tournaments, or hands to be played. In time that might become more creative in the ways you've described.

I will try to chase up the EV cashout fee again.

Hey! I’ve been thinking deeply about the current affiliate model and the overall philosophy of online poker rooms, and I see some major contradictions that CoinPoker could brilliantly solve.

Currently, traffic only goes one way: from School → Room. Rooms pay affiliates to bring winning regulars who drain money from the ecosystem. We should explore the opposite path: Room → School.

When CoinPoker detects a player is losing heavily, instead of letting them bust or offering useless casino bonuses, the room should step in. CoinPoker could either create its own internal academy or forward those losing players to affiliated poker schools. By allocating a small % of their generated rake to these schools to "rehabilitate" their game, you keep the recreational players alive and active for months instead of days.

Furthermore, this is a massive argument for Regulators. Instead of passive "Responsible Gaming" tools that just block deposits, CoinPoker would pioneer an active "Educational Shield."

To be completely honest, there is a lack of congruence in the industry right now. Rooms heavily market poker as a game of skill, yet they make decisions that punish skill and reward luck:

1. Overcharging for All-In EV Cashout* The EV Cashout should be a tool to reduce variance and allow the most skilled player to realize their equity safely. Charging an abusive fee on this feature turns a variance-reduction tool into a rake trap. It should be free of charge.
2. Banning HUDs lowers the overall skill ceiling: HUDs and tracking software are the exact tools that make poker a skilled game. They allow players to study, find exploits, and play data-driven strategy. Banning them pushes poker closer to a blind gambling experience.
3. Banning HUDs inadvertently rewards cheaters: This is critical. Cheaters using advanced Bots and RTA don’t rely on commercial HUDs; they use private, custom-coded injection scripts. By banning tracking software, rooms don't stop the cheaters—they just disarm the honest, experienced regular players. In these complicated times of AI, allowing the community to track data and report suspicious, non-human frequencies is vital for security. Regular players act as organic police for the ecosystem.

My final point is about the industry’s mindset. Right now, online poker rooms are obsessed with "punishing" regular players to artificially lower their Win Rate (through high rake, anonymous tables, or banning tools). But that is a scorched-earth strategy. The optimal solution isn't to drag the good players down; it’s to pull the recreational players up. By implementing the measures I’ve proposed to raise the Win Rate of losing players, you create a healthy, self-sustaining ecosystem where deposits last much longer and the room generates far more organic volume.

If CoinPoker wants to truly stand out as the ultimate room for *skilled* players and long-term sustainability, creating this Room-to-School pipeline, allowing the use of HUDs, and fixing the EV Cashout fee would prove that you actually practice what you preach.

What are your thoughts on this?

June I raked 2850, got 2848 coins accumulated.
Rewards earned for the month was 2418, and then i got 56$ from missions. not sure if they are auto included into rewards or they went str8 to my cashier??

but anyways, this is like 85%+ RB no?

anyone else tracking there rake/rb over the month? what sort of numbers are you ppl seeing?

How can you let your site run a couple hours with tables not loading let alone several days? I play two limits at HU and i can only play one table at one of the limits because no more tables will open.

Who are you on coin?

where are the mtt missions in the client?

I really hope this site resolves the issues; I think it has the potential to be the best poker software, but support needs to be clear and honest with players.

I’ve been experiencing crashes at the table a few times and have already emailed Coinpoker’s security team, but I haven't received a clear answer on whether or not this will be resolved.

@Coinpoker Rep,
I have 2 questions please 😀
1) When I opened the Missions tab in my Coinpoker client I saw no mission showed up. Do I have to register somewhere? Or if it's available it would auto appear in the Missions?
2) I received a hand history file in an email as I requested but when I imported in my Drive Hud 2 only 1 hand was recorded for the last month but I played a significant number of hands in the last month. Do I need to change any settings?

There is no missions right now, so far been missions happened one time for around a week for cash games.

How can we log hand history now we can't use any hand trackers? They're really making it hard to play on this site

Hand History files can be downloaded directly from the Coinpoker client. Go to Hand Histories and you can select the date range from what date to what date and then there will be an email sent to your registered email address. I'm still having issue with importing the file into my tracker to view recent hands for the last month.

Low stakes on Coin are still very profitable after rakebacks and leaderboard in my opinion. Not allowing HUDs is supposed to protect the recreationals but it actually is giving the good players even bigger edge in my view because good players will do extra work to review hands whereas the recreationals will never go through the hassles. If they had HUDs to track hands instantly may be they will review hands and learn but if they have to do extra works to get the hand history they won't. So I don't think Coinpoker is helping the recreationals by not allowing HUDs at all.

Thank you for using your 3rd post in 12 years to help me 😃

Getting the loading tables fixed should be an absolute priority, you guys are killing your own traffic. It's very annoying.

Thanks I've sent these to the devs, and they were already aware from some email reports and Discord. Should be fixed soon.

It helps if players can email in their log files (click bottom left in the client) and some info about their device, but understandably that's a hassle. Anyway they're on it now.

Thanks. A lot of recreationals did nonetheless want HUDs banned, it's in response to player feedback.

Some players have new ones now, including tournaments, these were shared on the Discord by players -

What is the criteria for who gets missions? Is it for losing players / players that have been on a bad run as part of the "bankroll boost" mentioned earlier itt?

Definitely not for the players who put vollume on there.
