Fresh start in montreal. rebuilding my life while chasing elite rakeback status on ACR
Salut mon amies, i'm a 30 year old sng grinder that just recently moved from a small town outside toronto called cobourg to montreal. The main reason for me moving was primarily for more social opportunities, as i was losing my nut being so isolated before. It was draining me, and affecting my mental health, and momentum very negatively. Now that i've been in montreal for about 6 months now, ive been loving the city and my motivation is at its peak. The unfortunate part though, is that my previous main grind, 6 max hyper turbos on ACR, have really been lacking action for a while now. it seems that every reg that brought action, and got games running has vanished. i slowly began to try my hand at spinz initially just to get extra volume in, but now the action is so dead at 6 max hypers, and with the action being so good at spinz, along with the rakeback system, spinz have become my main focus. Honestly, it was very jarring at first playing them, because of how rakeback dependent they are when it comes to profit. In 6 max, rakeback was important, but i was stilling winning quite a bit without, but with spinz, its more about minimizing losses so you don't lose the rake back rewards.
I've also gotten off to a really tough start results wise in them too. I think anytime you start playing a new format, regardless of skills you have built in other formats before, it takes time to pick up on the nuances of the format, and get a good read on all the new regs that your playing against. I still have a ton to learn though, and feel i am nowhere near my potential. My graph actually looked really good big blinds wise for a while when i first started playing them, it just hasn't quite translated to the results it should be generating dollar wise. But now that i've been playing them for a little while now, i feel quite sharp, and in a good rhythm with them, and will only be a matter of time before the results start to match that. Also, because i started playing them a bit late, i'm behind pace for their rakebacks version of SNE, which is called "5 star general". I'm currently at about 340k, and i need to reach 1 million by the end of the year, so needless to say, i need to lock in, because the pay off for the last bonus especially is one i can't miss. I'm currently playing the 100s, 50s, and 25s when there's less action in high buy ins. as well as still regging 6 max hypers, although they dont run often.
I will use this thread to motivate me, and hold myself accountable, with regular updates. Il attach some graphs including a large amount of my 6 max hyper history, as well as my current graph in spinz. first graph is big blinds won in 6 max hypers, only had a picture from an old laptop, , instead of screenshot aha. And unfortunately im missing a ton of games in the datebase, second is big blinds in spinz so far. it has been gnarly as fk so far, but i know the pay off will come. For some reason, its showing the wrong amounts in money lost so i just scribbled it out, same thing with the 6 max graph, but i just left that one. third is total pre rakeback winnings in 6 max hypers.

its quite hard to understand why you'd move away from ontario when you could be making 3x as much as on ACR by playing GG-party-stars ontario+ wptgold + ignition. Every good site is banned in montreal.
bikoz social opportunities, u rid?

all those sites are legal in montreal. those sites are mainly for mtts, which i don't play.
already a train wreck if you dont know that those sites are all banned in montreal.
bro ppl pay 2k$ a month to rent accounts on the ontario version
the mtt and sngs on them are on another level of softness. theres mtt losers that now make 200k a year on gg ontario.
theres a thread in here of matt roberts whos a breakeven 200nl player and now makes 150k a year grinding ontario cash
wpt gold is literally the softest site in the entire world, its like playing live. the ppl at the 200$ sng dont even know a flush beats a straight.
some of us in montreal are even planning to move our entire families just to grind there..

I find that hard to believe because when i lived in ontario the action was terrible on all ontario pool site's with very small prize pools. not sure about WPT gold though, never tried that site. I also dislike cash games for the most part, regardless of how lucrative they can be, they've always felt more like a job job to me, than a game i look forward to playing. thanks for advice though.
