I actually think this was the most ballsy move Lebron could've made. Going back to Cleveland or Miami or going to Golden State were all cute little stories. But Philly is completely different, and this team will have high expectations. They can win a ring (or 2?) and it could be absolutely epic, or they could be a big frustrating failure. They'll be the most watched and talked about team in the league, because of a 42 year old. Jordan never gave the fans this stuff, but apparently retiring and not playing is so great. The fans lost out big time.

I don’t see how staying at the Lakers offered a better basketball chance than joining Philly, honestly. The fit of stars in Philly is better, and sure you can have health concerns over Embiid but Kessler / Luka get hurt too.
Regarding all the drama stuff in LA, it’s probably harder to accept a minimum when you were on the super max. That’s simple ego stuff we could all relate to. LeBron knows he’s 41, but it’s easier to move and accept that reality somewhere new.
76ers should have enough now to maintain playoff seeding even through long periods of Embiid being absent. The real question is whether LeBron and his team moving across the country rubs off on Embiid at all. His body doesn’t need to be ready in October, March would be fine…
As for the logistics and drama around the waiting and reveal…people will either love or hate LeBron and accept / not accept it.
Is it really that hard when you're a billionaire? He's not packing boxes and lifting furniture himself. His boys are grown men. He can keep all his other houses. He can buy the best house in the best area near philly, and have teams of people set up everything the way he likes it reasonably quickly. All while flying in a private jet. I remember Shaq on late night saying when he got traded they had a apartment for him but nothing in it and he had to go get everything at walmart, largest shopping trip in walmart history,lol.
As far as I know, you are on your own in NHL, know some younger guys stayed with Tavares at his 7 bedroom house here in Toronto.
