USA Goes to War Against Iran
Time for a dedicated thread to the war.
How long will it last and what will be the probable outcome?
What if Obama's name were Kamala Harris?
The office is owned by the public. And if the public wants the same person to be President for 24 years, why not?
Uh huh, sure. The public wants Mitch McConnell in the Senate after being missing for 6 weeks, right? Even the governor of his own state wants answers and he's getting jackshit.
You really don't see the issue in giving unlimited terms to presidents in a system where the public doesn't vote for presidents?
I wouldn't have a stroke if Kamala Harris was President for six terms either.

I haven't seen any polling about that, but I suspect many (if not most) of his constituents are unhappy with his MIA status.

Yup.

No, I don't see an issue with it.
But why would I? I'm an idiot, remember?
When I post here, I don't typically consider whether or not it 'does something for me.'
I say what I want, and if anyone finds what I say amusing and/or interesting, that's great. If not, that's great, too!
I dunno... you'd be so incensed over her being black, female, and cackling, that it could very well lead to a stroke.

Exactly. Yet your GOP boys are playing Weekend at Bernie's with an invalid.
After seeing how Mitch is being used by his party to chit on constituents, you don't think this would be 10x worse when it's the president that needs to stay in office for all these clowns to keep their power and gravy train going?
Nah, you're not an idiot; you're retaaded. That is, in forum parlance, you turn a blind eye to egregious behavior if there's some little thing you agree with. For example, you probably look up to Mike Johnson just because he claims to be a Christian but are too retaaded to see all his actions are the opposite of the teachings of Jesus.

I have no problem voting for a black female. Several times in this very forum I've said that I thought Candace would have been a good choice for President. (Of course,I said that before her brains fell out.)
I agree, cackling is probably a deal-breaker for me. But in no case would it cause a stroke.

I never saw Weekend at Bernie's or even know what its' about.

The voters can decide that if/when Trump runs for a third term.
I'll announce my choice for President within a week after the conclusion of the party conventions.
Since this forum will almost certainly be long gone by then, please DM me your email so you can secure a front-row seat to my press conference

I know almost nothing about Mike Johnson.
Roughly 99% of politicians are horrible, awful people so one could make a strong case that I should never vote for anybody ever again. There are several Christian denominations that discourage voting in part for the reasons you mentioned above.
Ah, cool. How many times have you voted for a black female?
Two employees are invited to the Hamptons by an executive of a company so that the executive could have them killed for uncovering fraud, but the hitman was ordered to kill the executive for not covering the fraud better.
People are oblivious to Bernie being dead, so they parade him around and pretend he's alive so they don't have their weekend in the Hamptons ruined. At one point his mistress goes upstairs and they think the jig is up, but apparently he's an animal in bed.
Once again, the voters don't have the power to decide chit.

Do you find it odd that people in the upper echelons of the church are kindred spirits with people in the upper echelons of the government?
Zero. Zed. Never.
Important caveat: Since I've spent virtually my whole adult life in the OC, I don't recall having any opportunities to vote for a black woman conservative. I've voted for several Asian women for the House, and I've voted for a black man for Governor (Larry Elder).
And I've stated several times I would have voted for Candace if she had run for office before her brains fell out.
I'd be happy to vote for Harris Faulkner, if she ever runs for office in California.

Thanks for the synopsis.

Sounds like a good reason to abolish the Electoral College. I'll sign your petition to get rid of it!

I'm not in a church that even has an 'upper echelon", let alone anyone in cahoots with the upper-echelons of government. You'll have to ask a Catholic or Episcopalian that question.
To answer your question: Powerful elites influence other powerful elites. Not odd to me at all.
