THE Official 2024 PGA Tour Season Thread
I don't have a fancy OP or anything. But now that we are in 2024, and are back to calendar schedules instead of the reac
an interesting data point here
given the SG in the competition thus far, the likely lead for EUR heading into today's Singles play would be 2.6 pts
the lead EUR has is on a far edge of the distribution curve
(note that this post was made about 75 mins before play ended yday... when it was heavily favored that EUR would have a 6 or 7 pt lead)

illustrates that the U.S. have been playing pretty good golf, but the Eurolandia players are playing at a historic level for this competition
Don’t agree with Hovland pulling out and the match being given as a half.
USA should get the full point. I know the same thing happened about 20 years ago, and I thought the same then.
Harris English must be disappointed.
Bryson de Shambles.
Quiet in here
It stems from golf supposedly being a gentleman’s game and this that type of agreement. And the two prior times this has happened the matches have been close and this was a fair compromise.
But this one is different. That conceded half point lowers the winning chances of the US tremendously with them needed every single half and full point. In the past this hasn’t been a rule but rather a courtesy. I really don’t know if it’s an actual rule now or not.
Had I been Keegan and it been a courtesy, I don’t know how gentlemanly I would have been.

I agree I think the point should be forfeited but let’s be honest it’s not going to matter
Wonder if there was a contingency for multiple injuries.
Can't really tell if datagolf had pre-singles match predictions but a healthy Hovland vs. English -- English was the second worst American by SG, so a half point is probably running above expectation.
Fans smuggling in squeaky toys to squeak during Rory’s swing .
Now it’s been reported by Smokey they give the squeaky toys away with a drink you order
Euros should have just picked up the trophy and headed home last night if they get a half for every match they miss.
Man, if Euro was only up 2.5 Bethpage would be Altamont right now.
It’ll get lost in the shuffle but some significant WIL from Cantlay starting on the 18th fairway Friday afternoon.
well, gotta give it to the wankees, they didn't turtle up
so you're literally telling me there's a chance?
Lowry just farted in Henley's face
Henley still putts for a birdie to win but he has to go first and proove it
plus sugar shane gets a read
you miss 100% of those left short
shane makes this
INSHANE IN THE MEMBRANE
CUP KEPT IN EURO DOMAIN
he has the perfect mug for the archival videos forever played from henceforth
Too close for comfort in the end… only retained right now.
Not sure why they don’t have subs for injured players getting half a point is so crap. Injuries happen granted not often in golf but they do happen probably more in today’s game. Rule somehow needs to change. The half should be the last thing to happen, we should have forfeited the point if he couldn’t play.
UAs1 my thoughts as well.
was somehow mistakenly under the belief one alternate was allowed
