Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

Is it still possible to get Diamond in a Day?

I have read about it in the past, just curious.

They've offered me $100 off renewal this year, so I'll probably go ahead and renew hoping that they work something out with Caesars. I'm also at $295 a year and already have the SO membership, although we broke up, lol. My renewal date is early Feb, so I can change my mind last minute, I guess, if they don't work something out.

Anyone use the seven star retreat recently?
I’m a Vegas local so can’t use it for Las Vegas, not sure what the best option is to go visit?

Thinking of just forfeiting the trip for $500 reward credits but seems like a bit of a waste.

Been to Atlantic city and have no interest in going back, so any other recommendations would be helpful.

New Orleans, black hawk (Denver), Tahoe seem most reasonable depending on the person. Never used it yet though.

What are you looking for?

Pompano would be a good but wo a hotel they do not participate.

If you want poker and local non casino activities consider NOLA. But avoid if you want to degen. Pit games are bad and slots super tight. Poker is different than LV (not better or worse). Very little limit poker. Mostly NLHE but 5-10 highest you will see and that is limited. Lots of 1-3 but plays deeper and bigger (usually looser) than LV because it is match stacks. PLO (what I hear, I seldom do plo) is soft but very swingie. It is 4 card though 5 card maybe popping up. No other real casinos in NOLA. Biloxi 75 min away.

But since this is seven* I assume degen is involved. You could try Biloxi. Small, def not fancy and no poker. Degens games are not great but slots are decent. Also there are non CET choices. Best poker around is at MGMBeau Rivage. Best BJ down the road at Treasure Bay. GN has some decent video poker. Def would be a different trip.

Did Harrahs AC once but you said no AC. If you weren’t from NV Reno/Tahoe or Laughlin. Other than Vegas and AC, most choices are smaller relatively standalone.

Now if you want it to be a trio where casino and g@mbling is secondary, the good news is CET is “everywhere”. So decide where in the country you want to go and that is likely CET not too far.

Appreciate the help!
I was thinking of taking the gf along so would like a place we could do stuff outside gambling, plus good restaurant options for the $500 folio.

Was thinking Tahoe or Blackhawk to go skiing as well, heard New Orleans is a good option from my host but don’t really know why, never been.

I like Cherokee a lot, but this isn't the best time of year to go wandering around Smoky Mtn National Park, I imagine.

NOLA has lots to do outside of the casino with French qtr, Missippi trips, plantation tours, etc. it is an old city with lots of history. You can also do sports, except baseball. But other than Super Bowl that is done until fall. You could also day trip to excellent fishing both inland and offshore fishing

Unless a real Football fan I would not even consider Super Bowl. Tickets very expensive now plus I doubt you could get a room in either hotel. Might be able to get a room during Mardi Gras, it is more than just Fat Tuesday. Ofc security will be through the roof

Celebration dinners options are reasonable. There is. Ruth’s Chris (might charge double not sure), good steak house in the casino, Brassiere’s (new never been), Mannings sport bar. Out side of CET bubble there are all kinds of good to great dining options across all price points.

SW has multiple direct flights each day. You can find refundable flights to max out the travel folio, print your receipt, cancel and rebook a cheap SW flight to fly.

Never used a retreat for Tahoe or Blackhawk (wife will NOT snow ski and hates snow) but if you ski I could see thise as good options.

Agree more of a fall or spring destination ime. I assume Gatlinburg has skiing. I know they have slopes. But it won’t compare favorably with Tahoe or Blackhawk.

The poker is expensive rake and slots/house games poor.

Awesome, thanks for the info, might check it out there then since I never been.

Was a bit afraid of doing that flight change you suggested though, not sure how detailed they will look into it.

In my experience they don’t look closely at all. Basically look that the receipt/itenerary to make sure your name is on it (can be for at least two people) and that the destination and dates make sense. At least in LV they don’t even keep a copy.

I would not worry about it. They really don’t have a way to verify unless they start asking for a boarding pass (even then expensive tickets can be refundable). They are not going to call the airline to verify you were on that plane because the airline won’t tell them.

+1 for Blackhawk, especially if you've never been. It's a scenic drive to get to Blackhawk from Denver, but all of a sudden you round a canyon corner and there are Casinos stacked up along the Canyon creek. The casinos are I think all Smoke Free and moreso resemble mountain lodges or old repurposed brick mining camp style buildings, with most incorporating a lot of natural light into the casinos.

Out of interest does anyone know how many credits you earn for playing bubble craps in a CET property?

none

Tahoe has 4 separate casinos, all right next to each other. Only 1 has poker though, and it's not very busy other than during the Circuit event. It is very scenic though, and in the summer there's still lots to do on the lake.

Thanks, I’ll give it a shot. Guess the worst that can happen is they give me the credit for the cheaper flight I end up booking

Ya this might be the play, love the mountains and can take a day to go skiing. Appreciate the help.

Very cool, let us know how things pan out. I hit 7* for the first time in December 2023, and didn't have time to use the 7* retreat prior to 1/31/24. Planned to use it this year and life got in the way and had to request the 50K reward credits in lieu of a trip again.
I have used the $600 airfare to Vegas twice. Once at Caesars and the rep practically got out her microscope to review everything before issuing the Free Play Credit. This summer I used it again, this time at Paris and the rep was quick and actually seemed apologetic she could only do $547 and not the full $600 since my total flight cost was $547.
Also, both times were with screenshots/PDF of flight receipt on my cell phone.

Both times i used mine (600 airfare for diamond elite) i printed everything out. The first time it was a pain in the ass. They took forever and asked me where the return ticket was when I had a one way ticket. I then had to explain how one way tickets work, wait another 5-10 mins while they disappeared and then finally got my credits.
The second time the entire process took less than a minute.
