The pelicans are at a place called 33 hole overlook, down to the left of the trailhead. They are not resident, they are migrating and are staying in the area a couple of weeks/months and will probably be gone next month. This is the area:

edit: it’s still really worth going as there are a ton of different species of birds and animals apart from pelicans

Okay, that makes more sense. They are probably migrating from Mexico in the Gulf of California. When I was a kid the family use to go fishing in the gulf, where I would see tons of pelicans.

Couldn’t sleep, another day at the office!

I also moved over to Paris yesterday afternoon for 3 nights. Mobile checkin finally worked this time so was in my room in 5 minutes. No pictures as the room is standard and I’m on the 6th floor overlooking the roof and AC vents. Whatever, it’s a place to sleep.

Plan today is to really put a grind in, I’m only 40 hours away from Gold with 6 full days to go.

Busted the tournament shoving 92o into AQ blind, oh well it was fun! Currently in the most OMC game ever created, just having fun and splashing around before I figure out where I should go to eat… out of ideas

FYI, the standard breakfast at the 24 hour cafe there is not bad.

edit: Does Gold get you no resort fees? It would be cool if they would apply that to your next stay retroactively so you don't have to play 40 in the next 3 days.

Went back to the room to take a nap, woke up. Hit the blackjack tables and it was incredibly choppy, we nearly drowned. Basically 3 shoes at $100 where there were no back to back wins which is absolutely surreal. Then last shoe turned hot, pressed like crazy and instantly took the $1500 profit:

Gamble is very hard to say, but it looks like something like this:

Total: $8340

I have $4500 in USD, I sold a total of $2500 to a friend + the camera for $4000 and the tour for $400. So up maybe $2000 gambling? Somewhere around that. I tried to keep track as best as possible but it gets blurry pretty quick when you play at 4-5 places a day.

also I find it difficult not to pay for some stuff with cash there which makes tracking that bit harder too

I have a pretty good strategy for that:

Every $100 bill goes into the roll and everything below $100 is taxi/food money and is not included.

Such an incredible feeling when it goes bet, raise, reraise, allin $500. You squeeze your cards. First card is an A. Second card is also an A. Suddenly up $500 in 45 minutes:

Please describe this winning methodology. I lose at blackjack at such a consistent rate, I basically gave it up years ago. Except for a short foray into counting. During that stretch I could only find 6/5(?), which didn't matter in the end, because I got zero blackjacks in those two sessions.
