Hotel Review Thread
Since there are so many questions about hotels, I was thinking it would be useful for people to post the hotels they hav
Why do you like it?
Even if they don't have them as a default, you can tell them you need one for a medication and they will bring you one.
ParkMGM wanted $35/day to add a fridge to a room without one, coupla years ago, at least.
Not talking about minibar fridges. Caesars properties and TI have fridges. Venetian/Palazzo doesn't (only mini bar fridges). Wondering if RW has normal (empty) fridges? Trying to decide between TI and RW for next trip.
For MGM MB, Aria, Grand, Bellagio have mini bar fridges but I think they all now have a personal item shelf now. IIRC, NYNY had an empty mini fridge.
Generally if room doesnβt h@ve only you can have one sent up. If it is for medicines, used to be complementary but that has been awhile.
TI will likely be several rungs down on the luxury ladder from RW. Even the suites. That being said, TI is one of my favorite hotels, even without a poker room. However, the owner Phil Ruffin, is a notorious cheapskate, and you'll probably see evidence of that.
On the plus side, it's well-located, close to Venetian and WynnCore, and even RW.
Well I made a decison and booked it! Actually neither TI nor RW. RW seemed intriguing to me since I like trying new places but I knew I wouldn't likely play there. TI is a fantastic location for my tastes of Venitian/Wynn tourney play. I have stayed there a couple of times in the past and it is perfectly fine. But I lean heavily to prefering the Venitian/Palazzo. But ... but during the week I am going the V/P is out of line pricewise. Interestingly the Wynncore was surprisingly reasonable during this particlar time frame which surprised me. I have always wanted to give it a try but it never before seemed to be economically sound.
So I will be staying at he Encore (last week of Sept) and I chose it because I figure I will never get another chance to stay there (reasonably). RW and TI will probably always be reasonably affordable. For what its worth (I called) Wynncore and it does not have refridgerators (although available for $25 per day) π I won't be having a room fridge this trip!

Iβve decided that Fridays's MLB fix will be available for free on my website. Plus, we've got a great surprise for you β an MLB trivia contest with an exclusive discount for the first 30 people to answer correctly!

Are you staying under the poker rate? Wynncore is the only place I know of where a tournament entry counts toward your play requirement.

Nah, just an email promo rate. Not a fan of poker rates because I don't wanna be tied in to playing "hours" at a certain place. Plus I hate cash at Wynncore. Too aggrressive. Much more comfortable with cash at Venetian. That said since I will be staying there playing at least a little cash is inevitable.
???? How do poker comps work at Wynncore? Wynncore has no food options that exite me. All my favorite food is across the street at V/P.

Ask them if they comp it if you need it for meds

As I mentioned, a tournament entry fulfills your poker hours requirement. I can't remember how much it saves you, but I took a trip this spring and posted about it.

Probably similar to how the other casinos do it? I don't know because I dislike Wynn cash more than you do.

from what I heard recently at the table, the poker comps are good pretty much anywhere on site and even in the online shop. you don't have to get anything printed or added beforehand, you just show up and present your card and the poker comps are already available to use. probably the best program in Vegas.
I used poker comps last year twice for the buffet which is pricey but worth it

I used some comp dollars in June that I had from at least 2 years ago. Also applied to the Wynn brunch buffet which is amazing.
My experience with poker room rates: you call the poker room direct to book, likely weekday day times. They will book and think most rooms (Iβve done Wynn and Bellagio, Aria too) have a 5-6 hour daily requirement. I know last time I did the Wynn poker rate I played there maybe once but nowhere near 6 hours per day. No issues with the rate being honored.
Wynn is the nicest regular person room in Vegas Iβve stayed in and itβs not even close. Might be worth checking with the room, apparently email at [email protected]. I think rates 2 years ago were $200 for weeknights with tax and resort and $240 Fri-Sat.
this is kinda interesting... Treasure Island mailing me offers for 3 comp nights plus freeplay. I'd have to call but think it's for weekends too
my last trip in May I stayed there 2 nights for cheap, think I lost only $500 playing on site, didn't dine or buy anything else.

don't know if I can get out there again in 2025 but this is sure enticing. I like TI as it is right by Wynn and Venetian
sign they are getting desperate.
Not really. It is common for properties to send out teaser/bounce-back offers after someone's first visit or their first visit after a long period of time. So long as you provide at least some play, they will invite you back to test what kind of player you are. It's often reported that the best offers people get are these bounce-back offers.
E.G., I usually stay at MGM properties, but I put some play in with a friend at VP and Craps at Venetian/Palazzo last trip. Almost immediately started getting mailers for 3 comp nights + some free play, and Venetian values its room product pretty highly, so the offer is probably above 30% or whatever of my theo. They just want to get me back to see if I'll sustain or increase that level of play as an invited player.
I stayed at MGM almost exclusively for two years and got zero offers, not even 1 comp night at Excal or Luxor.
did get some sweet suite teaser comps at Red Rock. I played a lot of BJ and poker during those stays but haven't got a thing since.
had had some good deal marketing offers at TI which I used, this is the first time for comp nights including weekends. I'll probably go in November
I had a quick look at the Caesars rewards account yesterday, just to see if there was a crazy advance booking available for next June and I saw a lot of weekday offers for $8 or $10 per night at Harrahs, Paris, Horseshoe etc. Weekends were in the $70-100 range.
Obviously resort fees and tax are on top but I was seeing total average cost for 8-9 day trips at $80-90 per night all up.

That's very unusual. Even when I was essentially only playing poker at Bellagio with the occasional craps session, I would at least get offers from MGM (via email or logging in to MGM Rewards) that would include some amount of freeplay and resort credit (even if only like $25 or $50) and a discount vs. the rack rate for rooms. Are you saying that you got zilch from MGM, or when you say zero offers, do you mean you received FP/RC and maybe room rate reductions, but not so much that it was a fully comped room?
If you truly received no offers, you could have for some reason been put in what is colloquially called "MGM Jail," where some people have reported getting absolutely nothing from MGM after burning their comps (i.e. taking freeplay and giving MGM no additional play on top of it).
MGM has about a five-year lookback period, so if your theo was super low over an extended period of time, staying at MGM/using your card at MGM properties but giving them almost no play other than poker, that could explain it, but even then I'd expect at least some minimal offers based on some blackjack etc.

I get emails: your play gets you "exclusive offers", which are normally priced hotel rooms with no perks
Have you compared the price to the rack rate (by logging out of your MGM account and checking the same dates)? Those normally priced rooms might actually be discounted. In any case, it seems like MGM has a very low theo for you.
I went to book a room and looked at other available offers and seems like the default "member exclusive deal" was not the only or best option available. there were F&B credit ones too, although the room rate wasn't better.
still, was able to snag 2 nights at Excal for $135 with $50 food credit, that will come to like $42/night. not terrible. without the dining credit could get like like $118 for 2 nights, $59/night.
I don't really want to stay at Excal but the other MGM places were all like $200/night for 12/1
