Hotel Review Thread
Since there are so many questions about hotels, I was thinking it would be useful for people to post the hotels they hav
I wish this thread was updated more - I find the room reviews really valuable
Venetian rooms have been remodeled, here are some pictures:The new rooms have refrigerators:
I was curious, were the remodeled Venetian rooms in the normal Venetian tower? I know they also remodeled rooms in the old Venezia tower (which were really far walk) and was wondering where these rooms were located. Thanks!
I stayed in an identical room in the main tower last month.
Will be staying at the Palazzo in a suite for the first time, definitely doing a review. Also staying at one of the big Nomad (now The Reserve) suites for the first time which will be interesting.
I briefly considered staying at Cosmo for the first time, it looks super fancy and I get good rates but the location isnβt too good for my convenience and I get a bit less overall credits so nah, might just save that for when I go back with my wife on a later trip.

I stayed at Cosmo with my ex wife 5 years ago. Loved the room and we had a balcony with fountain views etc but I didnβt like the property much. I just didnβt feel comfortable there. Canβt really explain why because everything was top class

If your room at Cosmo is anything more than a City Room (ie has a balcony) then definitely save that one for when your wife comes. If you can get a Fountain View then even better.
Downside is she'll more than likely want to visit more. Which means less degen.
IMO, the balcony is the biggest appeal of Cosmo, so I'd pay a little extra to get one, even if you have to pay on top of what is comped.
I personally haven't stayed there in a long time (there's usually no real reason for me to choose it over Bellagio or Vdara) but I've heard that it's real hit or miss with regard to maintenance items/room quality. It's badly in need of a refresh and they are going to do so in 2027. Might be worth waiting until then, all things being equal.

I get all rooms comped at the Cosmo, the suites etc but I just donβt see any value in it over losing out on food comps when Iβm alone. At the end of the day I only sleep and/or watch tv in the room.
yeah views from the hotel room are pretty overrated in my opinion, unless you are there for a romantic getaway. would rather have a nice and comfortable room with a view of the parking lot or air conditioning systems over spending more on a better view. you can walk outside to see and hear the Fountains and other stuff.
the one exception was my stay at Fontainebleau, where even at a distant location I thought the room and view were awesome.
Iβm partly drunk, so pl humour me.
So for 8 nights you stay for $20 per but then receive $125 per night at MGM but would pay $50ish at Cosmo? So choosing Cosmo would cost you $155 per night?

Cosmo would cost me $400 for 8 nights + Iβd miss out on $250 in food credit = $650 whereas the actual cost at Nomad is only $158. Difference is $500.
Well, that's just one big hand going your way. Try and flop a set right away.
lol there is something immensely creepy about combining a conference room and a hotel room.

Edit: saw you edited your original post, way too tired to calculate per night cost [emoji846] but all in all the difference is $500.
Thanks. And yep, Iβve never stayed at park mgm but I might eat the 5 ball to stay at Cosmo tbh. It would be close
read up that circus circus still as 2$ hot dogs and 7.99$ food combos options coupling with the face they are still cheaper than the strat and others to say on.I wouldn't stay there but honestly if the location wasnt so far up wouldn't have been a bad place to stay for those with a car since its FREE parking and uber cheap compared to others. ive number crunched and its 40-50%
I've stayed there maybe 30 or 40 years ago. There would be a tendency to want to stay in The Manor, since that tower is newer, but the walls are paper thin. I used to stay there sometimes during my sportsbetting phase, which was pre-internet. I would stay in the Stardust, Circus Circus, or the Riviera because I could check lines in 3 sports books in easy walking distance.
They look nice - I see the carpets remain!
I loved the Palazzo room decor a little more than Venetian but I really like both properties and the rooms are so huge and well laid out. Shame that really, theyβre out of the budget range I can justify for a poker trip because I like the restaurants and vibe there too
I agree. I really enjoy playing at Venetian and would have loved to stay there a couple of days for upcoming trips. But it's just too expensive from what I have seen, and I doubt that my very low/moderate volume of Video Poker and slots would have made much of a difference even if I gave them some action.
(although I guess it couldn't hurt to try).
I think you can get the poker rate, which is usually around $160 a night weekdays, if you play for 6 hours a day on average. Given Whale's volume it should be fairly easy.
You just have to hit a big score on slots, and they'll keep comping you trying to get it back. Happened to an airline pilot friend of mine. He won a few thousand on a slot jackpot and they kept bringing him back.
