Hotel Review Thread
Since there are so many questions about hotels, I was thinking it would be useful for people to post the hotels they hav
Maybe I'm still just in teaser offer territory with them, but I haven't found it that hard to get comped base rooms at Venetian/Palazzo. First time I used my card there in 10+ years, I played not very much video poker there while staying somewhere else (maybe a couple hours of 25c three-line UX) and they sent me an offer for 3 nights comped (resort fee not included). I booked a
Sounds right to me. I used to play there a lot, circa turn of the century, but a streak of runbad plus some a-hole tournament directors have caused me to avoid the place for quite awhile. Like 15+ years. Then I played in the new poker room a couple times, but not a peep in the area of comps/offers.
I keep getting comp offers for Treasure Island and I've had very minimal play there. probably just teasers. but stay there and poker/eat at V or W
even without marketing offers the rooms are usually pretty cheap especially for Strip, and they are absolutely decent and clean
LUV TI and used to stay there and never leave when they had a poker room. Maybe I should feed their VP and bubble craps machines a little on a future trip. Whale should look into it when he's in a Venetian mood, as it's just across the street.
read up that circus circus still as 2$ hot dogs and 7.99$ food combos options coupling with the face they are still cheaper than the strat and others to say on.I wouldn't stay there but honestly if the location wasnt so far up wouldn't have been a bad place to stay for those with a car since its FREE parking and uber cheap compared to others. ive number crunched and its 40-50%
Don't forget to factor in the cost of a rabies or tetanus shot if you accidentally minorly cut your hand on something.
Circus Circus is also the site of my worst hangover. I don't usually get much of a hangover, but I learned on this occasion not to drink an excessive amount of rum and beer on the same night.
I woke up face down on the bed on top of the covers. Every part of my body hurt, including my eyelids. I was wide awake but couldn't open my eyes for 20 minutes because of the pain in my eyelids. It took another ten minutes before I could get up from the bed.
Ive never been there. anyone want to speak more about circus circus??
on Circus.. I seen their prices almost like OYO, not quite as low but like only 5-10% more expensive.
and then circus circus compared to the linq or any other strip hotel and its easily 50-70% cheaper
Idk how bad circus circus is but if youre gonna not give a **** about rooming and dont want oyo i assume circus circus cant be that bad? assuming its still free parking. for the price you can get compared to others

Iβve heard horror stories about both Circus circus and OYO, bed bugs, stained sheets and stuff that havenβt worked for years. Yes itβs that bad pr even worse. Even if it was free and theyβd pay me I would not stay there
I got a free trip offer to Reno. Silver Legacy or Eldorado? I've never been in either.
Silver Legacy > Eldorado
Golden Nugget vs. El Cortez would be a fair comparison.
The only pro that Eldorado would have over SL is the room elevators drop you in the middle of the casino, whereas you have to walk several hundred feet and then go down an escalator in SL.
But once in either casino its a short walk + escalator to get to the other (all indoors). There's also a Circus Circus attached, collectively the 3 are called The Row.
SL has a poker room. 3-6 limit is the first game that gets running in the mornings. NL games late morning or afternoon, often just 1-3. The busy poker room in Reno is at Peppermill about a 10 minute drive away. There's also one at Atlantis, a block further down. And another at Grand Sierra, though I've never been to that one.
Good Luck!

Thanks. Never been in El Cortez, and if I've ever been in the Nugget, it was only for 10 minutes, then I was kicked out for being 18.

Does 5/10 or higher run anywhere anymore?

The place is also pretty dodgy so itβs two for one [emoji846]

Here are two YouTube-videos about Circus Circus to enlighten you. TLDR is to avoid the rooms at 'The Manor Motor Lodge' (another building within walking distance, owned and operated by Circus Circus):

Planet Hollywood vs. Harrahs?
Park MGM vs. Luxor?
The point being neither hotel is top tier, nor bottom rung, but one has a clear edge over the other. In this case, it's SL.
Im far from an expert on the Reno poker scene, but the short answer is Peppermill. Ive seen 5-10 run there, and they advertise up to 25-50 being offered. There's also an emphasis lately on mixed games due to demand from players.
The lower limits have a carryover from covid in that there is no small blind. So 1-3 & 3-5 are really 0-3 & 0-5. The 5 game often has a straddle and large stacks, and players willing to gamble, so it can play quite a bit bigger than a standard 3-5.
We got a free offer from the Strat. We saw a show there and put in maybe a few hundred in gambling. Doubt we will use it, but free is free, so maybe π

Their newly-ish renovated rooms ('Elevate King' or similar) doesn't look half bad, although a bit small. Drawback is obviously the location, not sure I would feel comfortable walking anywhere from there.

Run instead, it's good exercise. π
When the boys used to visit the strip club that was across the street, one of them always got a Strat room. Just in case he got lucky with a hookup.

Yes.
Twice.
Never saw bed bugs. Had a Suite once (for 10 days) and a regular room the 2nd time. Suite was tired but everything at least worked. Regular room was good, clean, good water pressure and fine for one night.
Main issue with Oyo is the clientele and the elevators, which are the worst in Vegas.
Bellagio Room Review:
We took our mid 20βs kid and her boyfriend to Vegas for their first time last weekend and tried the Bellagio for the first time so they could see the fountains from their room and be close to other Casinos. When itβs just the wife and myself we usually stay at The Wynn, but we did try The Waldorf last year during March Madness. I use to stay at Aria a lot when on solo or guys trips, but their food scene has gone to crap since private labeling everything.
So back to The Bellagio. I honestly have never been so disappointed in what is supposed to be a top hotel at a high price point. The βremodeledβ rooms are pretty terrible in my opinion. We stayed in a tower fountain view king room and there is only one sitting chair for the small table in the room, the beds were pure crap, and the towels were terrible. The worst part though is that the shower had mildew all around the bottom of the shower. I mean like 75% of the bottom had mildew. It was nasty! The next morning I went to the front desk and showed them pictures, and they said they would have someone right on it. We left for the next five hours and when we got back our room had been βcleanedβ, but the shower was the same.
I went back to the front desk and the front desk manager was extremely nice and tried to switch my room, but they were sold out. She ended up refunding the money for our room, which is what I requested and expected at a minimum. She told me housekeeping would be there to clean it, but it never happened.
I like The Bellagio as a property and even played some poker in their room, which I havenβt done in over 12 years, but needless to say our experience was pretty bad and we will never stay their again. IMO, their rooms are not worth the price point at all. Most donβt have water closets or even regular closets. I know the property is older and designs have changed, but I really expected more at this level of a property. We will stay at The Wynn from now on and maybe the Waldorf from time to time.
Let's see those mildew pics!
