13 years ago i was a very high in demand pm who worked on some notable projects with regular unsolicited job offers which led to me doing a lot of word of mouth consulting jobs as i transitioned into gambling full time

Simon, I've played there a bit, back when it was Harrah's. Pretty standard LP room, IME. Not wild like Texas, but not nitty like Foxwoods. They do a match the largest stack max but in ,IIRC, so it can play pretty deep, but I always just bought in for 100bbs, as I'm not really practiced at deep play.

Simon: Don't know about the Caesars game, but if you're into dive bars, look up 45 Tchoup. It's in the 3500 block of Tchoupitolous (sp?), kinda by uptown. Owned by the sister of a friend, it's a dive bar in the best sense--cheap drinks, friendly, neighborhood atmosphere.

idk anything about diamond dinners but i'm nearly always wearing a sports jacket in the casinos

pros:

extremely secure pockets that are safer and more stylish than a backpack or fanny pack

security/staff treat you with a lot of respect you probably wouldn't get otherwise

other pros at the table take a little while longer to realize you aren't a fish

easily acquired on the cheap at 2nd hand shops

way more blowjobs incoming

cons:

can feel a little weird being the only one wearing one if you're not in an east coast city

One thing that caught me off guard there in the handful of times of played is that I believe all denomination chips are in play (unlike only $1/$5/$25 chips in the 1/3 NL game I play here at home). I once almost shoved preflop into what I thought was like a $15 stack due to him having all of 3 chips in front of him... until I realized he had over $1500, lol. Something to be aware of.

pretty wild though how just how liberating it feels to be able to plan on future income

remember i was visiting a friend a few years ago and he saw me make some very large wagers that won me about 50k over the course of a 3 day visit and he kept on telling me "i don't understand why you don't just leave your pos car on the side of the road and go buy a tesla today" and i was like "because i could easily go -60k over the next 6 months"

being able to financially plan ahead was not something a cared for in my 20s but it's invaluable now

No need to name the prediction market you will work for, but there is a developing story today about Polymarket - according to the WSJ and other sources a likely USGOV insider made $400K betting on regime change in Venezuela just before the recent US attack and rendition of Maduro. Now one congressman proposes a bill that would ban USGOV officials from such activity though I personally doubt it goes anywhere.

According to Business Insider "Polymarket does not currently have any restrictions or rules against insider trading. In fact, CEO Shayne Coplan has argued that insider trading via prediction markets can be a public good."

one of the beauties of predictit back in the $750 limit era was that insiders could only collectively get a couple thousand down and it made it very easy to A) see the insider money moves and B) still trade on them and collect because they weren't able to squeegee it all up just the best numbers

i made about 12k on the walz nomination just putting 750 on him yes and 750 on everyone else no when he randomly rocketed up about 20% in an hour because that meant the decision had been made and all the staffers and interns were trading on it before it went public

i'm more worried about congress making money insider trading on the stock market than prediction markets but it's still an issue

luckily, with the group i'm with, all we need to worry about is sports

lol brother it used to be back in the day pre covid that people at the tables and in the gambling world would be insanely hostile and bully those that made them uncomfortable, killed the vibe, slowed the game down etc even if it was due to a disability out of their control.i think the theory advancements etc have washed a lot of those guys out though that don’t take themselves and the game seriously.

I personally try to go the sincere and authentic route and be unapologetically autistic but fully in support of everything rickroll suggests.

also I’ll have you know I prefer leather jackets and tees you couldn’t pay me enough to wear a blazer 😃 😃
