Who would you like to see in HCL Million Dollar Cash Game

Some time ago HCL announced that they will be streaming a cash game with minium buy-in of million dollars.

Who would you like to see playing in it?

My list:

1. Rick Salomon

Absolutely fearless, plays fast and loose and puts people in tough spots all the time. Has good feel for the live game.

2. Andrew Robl

Nice to have some super pro also in the mix. Robl is entertaining and fearless.

3. Alan Keating

Well, Keating is Keating. Guaranteed action.

4. Hanz

That huge bluff against Keating earned Hanz a spot in my line up.

5. Eric Persson

I don’t like his antics that much but Eric creates a very unpredictable dynamic to the table. He can throw players off their game or just punt his stack in one hand.

6. Nik Airball

It’s good to have few villains in the table also. Loose and aggressive, can win or lose big. I don’t know how much he would play his villain image in this group though.

7. Tony G drunk

I just remember one Triton cash game from Montenegro when Tony G was hammered and he was just super funny and loosy goosy. If he is sober, he just is fasting and nitting it up drinking his bone broth.

8. Rui Cao

Action, action, action. Funny guy and brings good energy to the game.

9. JRB drunk

JRB is not a good player and his poker is not that interesting but he is funny and can keep the atmosphere in the table. Player like this is also needed.

(10.) Garret Addelstein

I have mixed feelings about Garret. He is a legend but I feel too much focus would go on the Robbi drama so I would leave him out from this one.

The action yesterday was incredible

Tonight is the last night? Or are they playing tomorrow as well?

...is Durrr still considered a tough player? Best thing i saw him doing was folding QQ pre, correct so...

Epic stream that last night, nice work Ryan, Nick and Hustler. Will be hard to top that tonight but looking forward to it . Santosh gives decent action.

So Dwan was promised a seat tonight and he’s no longer invited?

Lololololol

What a brain dead move by Feldman and friends. Imagine Dwan wanting to play on stream and you/these pussy lineups shutting him out

Sigh. Zero-pro games are the worst viewing. Completely uninteresting to see billionares ****** around without fear of the wolves imo

What is the beef between Keating and durrr?

lol Dwan (and any pro in the world) would instantly be back, no matter how kicked they've been from one of the days.. Don't worry.

Still bitch moves by hcl though, just have no stream instead of the all billionare game thx. (although that's not very logical, I know I know, it's jsut me not caring to see it, others may like it)

I don’t think there is any. Keating seems to have a large say in who gets to play and he’s rather play with whales rather than pros.

I agree with you, I have very little interest watching this now.
Watching mediocre/poor poker, but big pots is boring to me. Especially when losing 500 bigs to most of these guys is literally meaningless

Thomas and Peter are ridiculously boring. Silent nut peddling.

Thomas started off trying to make moves but getting stacked for a million sure quietened him down.

Brandon is insufferable. He was whining like a little bitch at the end of the last stream every time Thomas won a hand. If Brandon saw a flop but didnt hit a set he felt like he was hard done by. Thomas was stuck a million... eat **** Brandon. The money is just one ugly ass watch to you anyways.

Keating is awesome but when he is needing an IV mid-game it is a little concerning that he may not be even up to a second day physically. Hopefully he turns up feeling better.

I simply don't care enough about Stanley Tang to have ever previously formed an opinion about him.

The only one that is kinda exciting is Santosh but even he is hit and miss.

Santosh is fun when he's getting into it but really needs somebody more outgoing to start that fire burning.

Martin Kabrehl was actually great at bringing that out in Santosh.

https://youtu.be/GNd1vrT3gLM?si=UhXYmQgp...

That first hand in between them is great.

Martin: "Double check-raise? Or what?... Looks like double check-raise... I will give you chance for double check-raise"

Santosh: "Okay, will do"

Martin: "You are the best."

Now I can't get behind some of Martin's other nonsense but that hand is pure class. The man knows how to treat a VIP better than most of the HS regs and at least brings something interesting to the table.

Without Tom Dwan this line up looks kinda awful. Hopefully Keating turns up and Santosh picks up on his vibes rather than the rest of the table's.

pretty much this. ppl need to understand that you absolutely NEED pros in the game, cause they're the ones who drive the action, esp in spots where recs nit it up. there will be loads of action in whale only line ups no matter what, but it will be more like the TTvAQs hand last night, where whale 1 and whale 2 are on tilt and then just f off shove and pray. i'd rather see them do 100 double board plo bomb pot flips for 10k each, than limp and check-fold all night tbh. i want big pots but i also want to see at least somewhat good poker, leveling wars, razor thin value bets, insane bluff shoves etc.

Completely agree. I like the dynamic of having at least two pros in the game with the rec players as watching pro battles is always entertaining.

It had to be tough for Ryan running these huge games with all the politics involved.

I agree with you all 100% that the best line ups are a mix of pro and action players. Dealing with who is willing to play with who and managing all that must be tough.

If Dwan isn't invited to play the last night because of Keating I could see why Keating could feel that way. Dwan isn't a super nit and didn't do anything wrong, but when they are play 4,5,6 handed he seems a little bit "snipey" compared to the other players who were left playing. Again, nothing wrong with this, he is a live pro who has been in the game a long time, that is how they all become, like Ivey, Antonious, etc. The once crazy, innovative players eventually become kind of boring if they want to stay around forever it seems. He knows all the angles an old school pro should know, talkative and friendly at the table, tries to get in as many hands as he can (cheaply), doing flips at the end. Acting like action but when in reality he one of the most risk adverse players there. Constantly trying to pot control rather then pushing the action. Not saying he is scared, that is just his game these days. Very different then when he became famous. The game does need famous players and big names, so Dwan is fine for the games, but could also see why someone like Keating who is smart enough to see through things might not want him there. Keating could just say I'm going to bring a ton of money and ton of action, want to gamble it up big and not get sniped.

It's ironic, but nowadays I would say Doug Polk would be much better for the game. I didn't see Polk play the other day so not basing it on that. Basing it on the Lodge live streams, he just seems to "get it" now and is a great mix of skill, big name, and willing to gamble for real. His problem is his reputation from the past. Not really the talking trash aspect. The bigger issue is first he made his name as an online crusher, an awkward online pro. That has changed a lot but not everyone watches the streams and wouldn't know that. The other negative is previously on the HCL big games he admitted he only had a % of himself. It's cool that he was honest but other players don't like that at all. Probably isn't the case anymore, but it's still part of his past. People don't want to be playing against backed pro's. The want people to play their own money. It should hurt when losing.

In the past , HCL was tolerant with inviting players from their local base who were pro's who probably got backed.. Rampage, Andy, Mariano, Airball. But not cool with top pro's outside their gravity getting backed and put into these games.

I could be mistaken but very late into last night's stream Dwan said he's probably not playing tomorrow (today). It sounded like he just had other plans, not that he was uninvited.

Dwan's twitter would suggest otherwise. He said he was promised a seat every day. When somebody asked why is wasn't playing tonight, his response was "Ask Ryan". He says Santosh is lobbying for him to play, so I guess we'll see, but he 100% wants to play.

Ya Dwan on Twitter 100% wants to play, was told he could play, and isn’t pleased with being blocked from game

Him and Garrett should go to whatever’s left of the Bally stream and turn it on

Because he got the news early. This is also really gross when you realize Dwan is stuck big still and was promised a seat all 4 days. You really think he has better things to do when he flew in from Macau?

100% agree with everyone else. I dont care about billionaires throwing around the peasants money for fun and being given a audience to do so. All amateur lineups are terrible and I cant see how replacing Dwan with another donk is going to give a bigger viewing audience. I will be watching UFC 302 instead.

by Rawlz517 k

Yep - and now Santosh is the hero we need.

Why do we think its Keating blocking Dwan when Stanley is replacing him?

Straight up has Stanley Tang added 1 good moment in any show hes been on?

I'm with everyone else. Why should I care About a bunch of billionaires with no personality throw around money ? It's equivalent to a $1/$3 game for them, no thanks I'll pass!

Promising Dwan a seat all 4 days then failing to honor that promise just points to how bottom of the barrel HCL is

Tom has been debatably the biggest televised poker draw for 15+ years now. Obviously, things have changed over time, but the idea of bumping him from a lineup in which he was promised a spot is unthinkable for any show.
