If you havent figured this out yet: at this point in western civilization its 99% guaranteed that any change in our society is going to be worse. GG bought something for a large amount of money and now needs to make this money back. You are going to gradually see EU levels of rake for the WSOP.

The thing about China though is they work harder and for less.
That's why Temu and Shein are now so popular.
I don't think it's China's style to increase the rake and let a competitor in, the mistake that Pokerstars made.
Call me crazy, but once they scale even further, I think they might even do the opposite and cut the rake.

As a general rule this seems fair, at least in the eyes of those who have a stake in the status quo.
WSOP and Caesars are on divergent paths. Caesars basically wants all returns on investment require zero management or staff expertise along with a minimum of overhead and delay. Basically automated gaming in the least maibtained facilities yielding a guaranteed ROI.
WSOP is the opposite of that. It requires constant management and staffing, and benefits by providing players with comfortable playing conditions and ample time to enjoy the games.
Now we have GG whose core competency has nothing to do with live poker. Yet here we are as GG was in the right place and the right time to make an offer Caesars could not refuse.
Who knows, maybe Caesars solicited a bid from GG.
It does make sense that Caesars did not sell WSOP to LVS or Wynn or some other NV player. Of course that would have been a dream come true for 50k+ WSOP players.
So bring in an online operator to bury live WSOP. Makes sense to Caesars at least.

I assume that whatever deal Caesars was (theoretically) offering the other NV players was not as good as what GG got.
Personally, I haven't had a problem there. 313k players online now, compared to Pokerstars 30k.
Their tourneys are very beatable, 8% rake, easily the lowest in the business, not bad at all.

Ok, I would like to offer my services to GG to transition NJ,NV, and sure why not MI, to GG. I understand there are govt people that may want to speak about things.... Here is what I will do. I will enter WSOP office comptuer place and hit delete. And then I will push install on GG program. When any player or govt type asks about WSOP software I will look at them and shrug and say "its gone"
You need to just do it when near these govt types. They think ther ideas matter and it slows everything down. GG please see Uber. They got hassled to no end by these govt people saying they needed this and that to be a taxi service. Everywhere, every state. They just said "no silly govt worker, its ridesharde, people sharing a car to work or sharing a car to the supermarket." "It not a taxi, dont be silly." And before you know it was over.
I would very much like 300k players, so just for you, I'll handle everything for 6 or 7 bucks. Call me.
Yes GG is amazing. I think some are suspicious, because it's owned by Chyna.
And a lot of Americans haven't had the opportunity to play of it yet, so they don't get how great it is.
All the decisions they have made have been right. I doubt they will start handing out online WSOP bracelets.
I don't think anyone would even want one. A WSOP bracelet is very much a live poker accomplishment.

Not sure, but that is pretty goofy. I also think it is weird that people assume you are a chauvinist for asking a legitimate question.
Any insider knowledge on what this means for the WSOP’s deal with PokerGo? Future broadcast rights? Is PokerGo still going to lock all previous WSOP content, that used to be free on YouTube, behind their paywall?

I think their actual numbers are closer to Stars when you look at the biggest games running, GG is def better for cash, but for MTTs its basically the same amount of entrants for big/bigger tournaments.

I wonder how this will impact WSOP branded skins on sites in places like PA , NJ, and MI, will they lose not only the branding but the ability to host Online Circuit bracelet and ring events, as well as WSOP ME seat freerolls? Obviously GG doesn't operate in the US so wonder how this will play out.

Caesars Digital will retain current WSOP Online US poker markets
Caesars Digital currently offers WSOP Online poker in Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The terms of the deal will allow Caesars to continue to offer the WSOP-branded sights (sic?), which run on the 888 platform. However, Caesars will not be able to expand into new online poker states, such as West Virginia, “for a specified period of time and subject to certain exceptions.”
I have not seen that in any other article. What specified amount of time? I think that's not accurate.
