guy still plays today in huge cash games (successful), a 10K buy in is laughable for him, why would he only have 20%???
I have no information about this, but it seems possible he would have a staking deal that covered all his WSOP buy-ins and was in place before his PPC win.

Btw I dont think its a good idea to post all buy ins. Who cares? Its honestly nobody's business, and its just people being nosy wanting to hate on the losers. We don't need to hate on the losers, we need to lift them up. Unless they have a gambling problem- then we need to help them.
If people are staking someone they think is a winning player (incorrectly) thats their problem.

Even though there weren't a lot of entrants back in the day, Johnny Chan's achievement of winning two in a row and finishing second the year after must still be up there.

well.... ehhh.... yeah know, i mean......... c'mon brosky, a 10,000 tournament field is way, way, way different than sub two hundred runners. no matter the perspective you take on the game, on tournaments, on great play, on pure statistical luck, whatever. it just ain't the same.

No confirmation bias here. As soon as he did it i thought hmmm what position is he in? Its not like the worst of the worst, but given the circumstances he certainly could hope for a better spot.

it is my understanding mizrachi is not necessarily part of the new age GTO theory/robot school of poker, he leans way more toward the good ole fashioned, exploitative, play-the-player-not-the-hand type of true grinder........
if so, natural question: does grinder's win prove that the old school form of poker is not dead, and that the GTO/robot/theory school cannot claim dominance?
or is that too broad a generalization?
would like some opinions on this. mainly because i have been desiring for many years to see an old school poker style player win this event more than any other, just to get a conversation going that GTO is not a 100% dominant way of winning in the modern age.
I had stated i enjoy his style of play because I play a similar game and his table presence is much better. Its ridiculous to think its "dead" if you're an intuitive player that still understands how to put opponents in tough spots. He might make mistakes here and there but so does everybody, regardless of their style.

Except you could start counting after the first win, (1/167) * (2/178) or one in 15 thousand. Some other combos would have been exceptional too, imagine 1, 2, 1, the comeback man, or 2, 1, 1, getting better and better. So one in a 5 thousand. Still impressive of course. Some good play in there.
Got to be one of the best final tables for making a big story. Woman makes final table. Then well known player wins, while winning his 4th PPC.
