Doug Polk 100k challenge
Doug Polk is going to try to make 100k in a month one tabling mid stakes (3/6) poker on ClubWPT. Can he do it?

Edit/M
Well it was hard to get any value when that other dude sniffed that trap like it was rotten flesh.
Hahaha I did that in plo once. I raised some low double suited stuff. Nittiest of nits 3 bets. We go heads up.
AKJ two of a suit i don't have. I don't even have the backdoor suit. I just open folded out of position. He's like what the hell and shows AAQ10 with a backdoor flush draw.
Is the challenge paused?
He was playing so consistently every day, even when he said he was going to take a day off, he would end up playing anyway.
What gives? Seems like two days now with no challenge. Unless it got blocked by uTube or something and that's why it's not popping up for me.
Was he spooked by that weird fold by ChodeDoug? Is he trying to figure out what the deal was with that before playing anymore on that site? He was obviously flabbergasted by that fold, but being live on stream he didn't want to overreact. Very similar to the Garrett J4 situation. Maybe after finishing off that session he thought more about it, and is even more suspicious?
Was there a planned couple day break where maybe I just didn't catch him mentioning it?
Seems odd to play so much running bad, then after a decent day stop playing.
The challenge was over as soon as Doug started playing different/higher limits

just had a family member pass away so have been trying to be supportive with that. I also had a pre-exiting obligation I had to take this Wed off. I will be back at it in the near future to grind out the conclusion of the challenge and lord willing get back to even.

yiikes, sorry to hear this doug.
Just wanted to say keep up good work with your stream and all the funny memes (shoutout srslysrs for being so creative). You are making online poker seem fun and that's what it kind of needs.
Also, I feel bad about trolling you a week ago with a superchat mentioning your kamala bet, because it came off as a bit mean spirited. Your stream just bring out the troll in some of us, I cant help it. You are the man and hope it all works out. <3.

Agree with this guy. Sorry for the loss.
The challenge/stream is very entertaining and good for poker. Appreciate the effort.
Could not agree more with previous posts.
all good guys, thanks. Been fun even though ive been getting rekt lol
Marathon session: Code Doug somehow managed to finish in the green Friday.
He was down $22K at one point.
Code Doug down 'only' $17K now.
Wow, he actually made money yesterday? Last I checked he was down 24k, what a comeback. Crazy.
It's simultaneously encouraging and discouraging Doug got as wrecked as he did.
Encouraging cause shows everyone can go through brutal swings (much like Galfond vs VeniVidiVici).
But also discouraging cause people can argue whether Doug is optimized for full ring or heads up, but fact remains hes a very long time pro and has dedicated huge amounts of his life to poker and if he can still quickly dust off 25 buyins at's what a relatively low stakes game...that does hint that poker games are pretty tough these days. Of course it's likely variance, however if your win rate is sufficiently high then you basically can't lose anyway so even though I assume Doug ran bad, it does hint at a lower win rate. Which I'm attributing to Doug underestimating the competition than overestimating himself.
Also, to the earlier person with bet vs friend on this, I would only take the one win cause you hustled your friend so hard making that bet. It was basically free money. I highly doubt even Doug thought he was likely to win this challenge, $100k in a month at 3/6 does not seem realistic for anyone without a sunrun. Your friend basically believed there are people capable of making over a million dollars a year single tabling 3/6 which simply does not happen. There's like 10 online poker players consistently making over a million and they all play highstakes and multitable, and never stopped playing online. Doug may have picked $100k specifically comment sections noting it's extremely unlikely he'll succeed is itself engagement and may boost his content in the social media algorithms. So betting on him to win this challenge is like betting on the 16 seed to beat the 1 seed at even money in the March Madness tournament, because a player on the 16 seed "guarenteed" a win. So you hustled your friend.

Are you seriously calling NL600 (did he play smaller?) relatively low stakes? Also the logic Polk loses at wptgold NL600+ - internet games must be tough is let's say bit far fetched mate.

His last public challenge was a match vs DNegs at 200/400 NL so yeah, once you learn enough English to understand what the word 'relatively' means, your incredulity will fade.

I don't think it sounds far fetched.
2 caveats: 1. any1 playing 25/50 online today must be half decent @ poker or @ least got their money from somewhere
2. It's possible doug's being targeted by the current crop of hu crushers
Let's go back to joey podcasts from 13/14/15/16: 'wcgrider is debatably the best hunl player in the world'
Do you have any idea how hard that position was to attain? The skill(s) attached?
Doug Polk is no chump. Or should i say the guy who's now called Code Doug is no chode (doug)!!!
I thought the Challenge was a one month Challenge, as in the month of March?
Today Doug is talking like he has part of April to get even and not have to shave his head.
Anyone know what is what?

Started on the 4th or 5th of March. I believe he's said both the 4th and 5th of April are his last day so not really sure which he's stopping after.
