This was my thought, some group will complain when they eventually ban earbuds and headphones completely.but the ban won't stop anyone from playing. If anyone actually stops playing because of it, you probably don't want them at the table anyway.

My thoughts too. So you just ban them, and the 1% that leave, good riddance. They're always terrible for for the game anyway, same thing for sun glasses. Its honestly a win win.
The only issue is (as tech evolves) is prescription glasses. Like, are you going to force people to show you their prescription and look at their glasses? So many obstacles coming up for poker. Maybe im over thinking it.
The phone thing is out of hand, as a regular player I have noticed groups of players using phones at the table to text hole cards, or player tendencies, etc. The best I have been able to get poker rooms to do is tell people no phones while active in a hand, even thats relaxed nowadays. I hope it eventually comes to a head and they ban them except away from table and on breaks.
Whats interesting is i notice older people are sometimes just as bad if not worse about continual phone use (like at all times) at the table. Worst ive seen is this dude who busts out his laptop and is "working " while playing. Like dude...cmon
But anyway, I hope as Mark mentions the WSOP starts being proactive instead of reactive or **** will get bad
On a more positive note, 13 days til the WSOP starts! I have 25 days til the Monster Stack starts so I am pumped. Been grinding for a couple months building the roll to be ready.

One of the silly issues is that they "allow" you to use your phone/tablet/laptop at the table if you are playing online on WSOP/GG.

Her dog was about 80 pounds and she had it under her feet which meant I had nowhere to put my feet and then it ended up on my feet. Asked her to move the dog which she did, but it ended up in the same spot until she moved a table over. They had issues there as well. TD had to visit both tables because of it.
A lot depends on the size of the dog and how well it is trained. Probably half or more of these dogs are not service animals, they are pets that people use to get around not being able to bring their pet with them everywhere, especially college students. The tables are going to be packed in for a lot of these tournaments and I sure wouldn't bring one to an event that starts 10 handed.

I’ve been road-tripping with my boy across the country since late last summer, including plenty of poker rooms, so I’m not worried about him.
More just hoping people around him are considerate and WSOP staff know the proper protocol if they have questions or if issues come up, etc.

Not sure if you’re talking to me specifically or just in general, but he is a legitimate service dog required due to a disability and trained to perform specific tasks related to that disability. He just happens to be cute

My assumption (hope) is that the complaint above was confusion between ESA, or people who just brought their dogs because they wanted to, vs an actual service animal.
I have played several events where someone had a legit service animal, one last year was a 90lb + Great Pyrenees. He laid on the ground next to his owner 's chair and there was no issue. I think that is the best move, I have seen people with dogs put them under the table, which I think, regardless of size is the wrong option, as they get in other people's way.
Be courteous, keep him on the ground next to you as opposed to under the table and you should be fine.
