Survivor: GENERAL THREAD
I wanted to post something Survivor related but realized there's no general thread about Survivor. Each thread is about
Here for Coach + Q
I'm really happy they took 3 from David vs Goliath. That was the best cast of newbies weve seen in a long time. They picked the correct three as well imo.
So who all is interested/still interested in the draft again?
Here's the official list of contestants heading out

In.
Also, looks like you missed Jenna and Mike on the list.
And this article mentions the two 49 cast members, plus has a link to the full rumored cast.
11 people from 45-49 is dumb, especially three from the bottom ten season that just finished.
Some of the old school choices are bad too.
They should have had 49 be a season of new era returnees and then made 50 something special.
What’s not to like about all these white folks?
I’m glad season 49 was spoiled itt. Really cool
Iβm pleasantly surprised with who they wrangled.
Is Cirie the only one who has ever done a different non CBS show? Seems like theyre drawing a hard line
On this cast, yes. But there's been quite a few Survivor alumni on The Traitors. If Boston Rob, Wendell or Sandra wanted to play again I'm sure they would let them.
Dee is on the challenge 41 also but I believe its now owned by paramout plus so technically under the same parent company
oh and Stephanie was on the same Traitors season as Cirie

I think itβs considerably different for people who havent been on-air talent in several years. Oscar also did Ninja Warrior a million years ago.
Someone like Carolyn gets picked out of obscurity by the kind people of cbs and immediately gets money hungry and leaves for the next opportunity. Youβre not Boston Rob, thus get bent
Survivor is very physically demanding for someone at his age and he has little left to prove, so I'm not surprised. If they ever do a season of Traitors with returning players I'm sure he'll be a lock though.

Couldn't have less interest in watching players like Boston Rob, Ozzy or Cirie play Survivor again.
All three on almost any given season will follow virtually the exact same formula;
Boston Rob/Ozzy
-Keep around in the pre merge as a shield/challenge performer/camplife performer
-Boot post swap or early merge
Cirie
-Keep around pre merge as a shield unless if getting slaughtered in challenges
-Boot around 6th-7th being as she has no change of winning an immunity challenge
Agree with all of this ^^^ but I'd keep in mind Cirie will mess with folks socially (Boston Rob & Ozzy can't) and so far that's been interesting & different every time/season.
I'd say that's worth keeping her around for version 5.
What if Ozzy finally figures out how to play a social game? He's had a long time to think about it.
You know all these people are old, right?

I sincerely hope people like him are aware enough to realize this, but odds are it isn't going to happen.
The game is also quite different even socially than when he had his first run.
Crazy to think it was almost a generation ago.
Rob C is officially cast for The Traitors season 4! Also Natalie Anderson and Yam Yam. I have no idea who the others are due to not being American. Apparently there's some controversy over one of the other contestants being a massive douchebag.

Ian Terry is goated.
+1 for Ian.
Pretty solid gets Survivor-wise, Rob C obv the highlight for many folks. Had a feeling Yam Yam was in the running for S50 too (despite Carolyn getting most of the S44 attention), so Yam Yam's casting here makes sense.
Would be fun to see Donna Kelce go far.

Would make total sense for YamYam to turn down Survivor 50 for the Traitors.
Much shorter filming schedule, new experience, well fed and slept and a higher % chance of winning
Binged some Traitors after learning Rob C would be on and, while its a great concept, what horrible execution.
Team competition with no stakes between teams, drawn out editing and repeated scenes in and out of commercial breaks (makes sense 20 years ago but not now), no incentive for Traitors to sabotage or subterfuge beyond the basics of concealing their identities, challenge countdown clocks that are obviously edited in post hoc, challenges that don't feel like they're challenging at all and instead filler and a formality that the prize pool will be continuously increased, and taking the camp aesthetic from something a bit cringe but reasonable in season 1 and turning it up to 11 in season 2 which was more distraction than anything. And besides a few exceptions, the actual strategy element is kept to a minimum.
Good thing is their casting philosophy to produce a less physically and time demanding show for competition show alumni is not proprietary so hopefully some other network picks up the torch with a more clever game mechanic and strategy oriented edit.
House of Villains is perfect
