Survivor: GENERAL THREAD
I wanted to post something Survivor related but realized there's no general thread about Survivor. Each thread is about
looking at the cast for the first time 6 hours before the premiere lol
definitely some hotties
I noticed that too haha. I'm hoping this season isn't a disappointment with everyone, particularly Jeff and production, looking forward to 50.
Also, don't forget about Survivor Survivor.
Definitely going to be grinding this afternoon to see who's playing this season. You guys could just be making up fake names for Survivor Survivor and I wouldn't even realize until later
Savannah and Sophi are hot and probably gonna be some of the best players this season, win win.
To quote the golden god
'I don't want to do puzzles with a bunch of dorks, man'
Sophi is a hot latino though and had lots of screen time. So there's that.
I can see Savannah the Russel Hantz Sophie Clark hybrid carrying this season
Some promising looks for this season, hopefully it doesn't get too wrecked by the Albanian Bhanu.
Did a fun draft pre-season, only based on profiles.
3 of us. 1 person per tribe.
I got MC, Jake and Savannah.
Like the MC pick. Maybe my early winner pick based on ep1. Might be bias.
Jake the shoe bandit seems like he'll shoot himself in the foot.
Savannah will try to get tricky and burn herself.
Did they ever show Sophie, or only Sophi this ep? Remember seeing all the other cast, but not Sophie.
Bromances are so cool
Can't tell if I'm just starved that much for Survivor or if that genuinely was a good episode.
Good first episode, and I actually liked the fact there was a competition to get the supplies instead of the tribes having to do it themselves.
Rizzo legit made me laugh out loud a couple of times. Good casting, and I'm already not surprised he made it to 50 with his personality. Too early to know, but I can't see him winning though.
Lots of excellent eye candy, which is nice to see.
The bromance will last until one bro is on the block, and then they will turn on each other and I can see Sophi being the deciding vote already.
One thing that always astounds me is people who show up for Survivor out of shape. Like, you know a few months ahead of time you're going on the show, correct? Why would you not start working on everything you need to be able to do, including cardio and stuff like static strength? I mean, maybe these people were massively out of shape before and got to what they were before they left, but you KNOW there's going to be many physical challenges. And, if you stand out by being weaker early, you're done.
They have a quota of fatties to fill. Can't leave any demographic out!
Yup, it was announced he made and it. And also
Spoiler
Savannah

Lots of physically weaker contestants go a long way. Even since just season 41, Maryanne, Yam Yam and Kenzie all wouldn't exactly be considered physical beasts. It's also the case that in reality the majority of challenges come down to puzzles and untying knots and stuff; the physical stuff just gets you a little headstart.
I also think some people pack on 15-20lbs to counteract the expected weight loss before going.
Solving puzzles > being in shape in the new era.
While some of the old challenges were a little too brutal, I do miss the old physical challenges. I don't miss most of the contestants being wannabe actors, but it's swung too far towards the "regular people" side.

Cant believe you're not digging having 46 pre merge challenges in a row that are an obstacle course ending with either a puzzle or a carnival game.
Shockingly starving one tribe of fire means they lose a lot. Who knew... Oh yeah other than its happened 8 out of the 9 new era seasons now.
I will give production some small credit, at least they changed up the journey challenge.
I'm not watching the season but Polymarket opened a market for Survivor 49 and judging by the odds this season is heavily spoiled. Avoid going there if you don't wanna be spoiled.
Notes on this weeks episode:
Jesus, that blue tribe blew that puzzle. Like, they must have stood there useless for minutes. I've never seen such stupidity in front of a puzzle before.
Red tribe definitely bringing the hnnng this season. Best female group for eye candy in a very long time, maybe since Amazon with Heidi, Jenna and Shawna.
I really wish they would bring back two tribes of nine. The whole firm four thing is getting old and it happens with every tribe. You basically know who's likely making merge right away, even if one tribe gets wiped out like seems to be happening this season - again.
Just put out immunity idols again instead of making them play these stupid games to get it and risking their votes. I did like the fact the journey was a competition and also that there was a choice involved.
Blue tribe getting wiped out until the inevitable swap at fifteen. So I guess that's week after next.
2 tribes of 9 would be so much better.
I’m hoping they do 3 tribes of 8 for 50, but I’m worried about 4 tribes of 6. 2 tribes of 12 would be fun too.
