Survivor: GENERAL THREAD
I wanted to post something Survivor related but realized there's no general thread about Survivor. Each thread is about
2 tribes of 9 would be so much better.
I’m hoping they do 3 tribes of 8 for 50, but I’m worried about 4 tribes of 6. 2 tribes of 12 would be fun too.
Its 3 tribes of 8.
They've already released the tribe breakdowns.
I'll put it in spoilers in case people don't want to see (it includes the two 49 players)
Spoiler

previews imply poisonous snakebite and medical evacuation ... I guess we will know in couple days
That was a strange episode.
Brutal to be medi tapped when they didn’t think the bite delivered venom. Also surprised they forced the immunity challenge with Kele going down to 3.
Jeff ****ing loved the “drama”.
Game theory of a 3 person tribe with 1 known immunity idol is brutal.
Jeff seems like the type of guy who goes into Madden and edits all the players on his favorite team to 99 overalls and the players on his favorite teams rivals to as bad as possible and then just makes the computer play out the game while he watches.
lol
Glad Sophi stayed. She’s great.
Seems like an obvious shot in the dark spot
That's a weak ass medevac.
Nothing at all happened to you, but we were scared, and think you were scared, and you need food and shelter to recover from this trauma.
I feel if Jake was like Probst, doc, I'm totally fine. All good, let's get back out there, they let him.
He probably didn't want to take on more risks with his newborn coming, and told them to pull him and frame it as a medevac.
That's interesting. Was having a tough time figuring out how best to gameplan tribal as each person.
If both Sophie and Jeremiah say they are playing shot in the dark, Jake just vote for whoever you want and we're gonna try to get lucky. Worst case, the person he votes for wins their shot, and you get to revote for the other person. Is it 1/36 they both win, or is there a different calculation?
Maybe that gives him confidence to not play idol, and they both vote him instead of SitD.
Listen, why is no one talking about the fact that Jake is from Edmonton, and in the post credit picture it showed him wearing a Leafs jersey? No wonder the snake bit him.
Getting Alex to not play the idol seems close enough to zero percent to me. When your vote doesn’t matter, it seems pretty trivial to just take your shot at safety.

I imagine heβd have serious trouble walking on this foot for several days, let alone running and survivoring. I think getting bit by a venomous snake is the coolest evacuation ever. Snakes rock
I'd be willing to bet - but they didn't show - they gave him an option to be flown home immediately for the birth of his kid or to stay, and he chose to leave. After the train wreck his tribe was and having a busted foot, he would know his days were numbered.
I've rarely seen anyone look as defeated as Sophi did while the other two were being useless at yet another puzzle. And yes, Alex not playing his idol there is idiotic so I'm glad he did and I didn't have to throw anything at my television. There's a ton of game left.
There's no way they stick with three tribes, right? Two tribes of seven makes way more sense. I would also love to see them go with a 3/3/1 split automatically. It would make for way better gameplay than random draw and 5 members from an old tribe end up with one and one or both blue tribe members.

Did he go home? Don't eliminated players have to hang out?
Everyone stayed somewhere. Otherwise, when they got home early, everyone would know they didn't win.
49 was filmed from 4/20 to 5/15. His son was born on 5/2.
My understanding is nobody goes home until the season is complete, but Med Evacs might be an exception.
Pre-jury boots stay at Ponderosa until the first jury boot, then are moved to another location until the season ends.

I think its actually a pretty fun prisoners dilemma/game theory problem
Alex = By playing his shot in the dark it gives him a 1/6 of getting to retain his idol. If it misses can just play your idol afterwards. If Sophi Jeremiah vote for each other its a 1-1 tie and they presumably go to fire.
Conclusion should always play his SITD
Sophi =
i) If theyre both against you, correct move is to play it as your vote doesn't matter
ii) If Alex is with you but not Jeremiah its a 1-1 split and you go into fire if your sitd misses, so turning a win into a draw.
iii) If Jeremiah is with you but not Alex you go home in a 1-0 if your SITD misses if Alex plays idol, if he doesn't again its fire. So either turning a win into a draw or loss.
iv) If they're both with you (actual scenario) it's irrelevant either way (Jeremiah would go home in a 1-0)
Conclusion should only really play SITD if believe i) is most likely scenario
Jeremiah= same as Sophi in reverse
All 3 sitd. One of jer/sop hit the shot. Alex uses his idol. Non sitd winner goes home with no votes.
Two tribes and a immunity challenge that rather ending in a puzzle where the best puzzle people win 100% of the time it was a challenge that tested communication, physical strength, teamwork and strategy.
I bet Jeff hated that episode
Yeah, but at least he got to do his challenge fake-out.
