General TV Discussion and Thread for Shows Without A Thread Thread
OOTV doesnt like family comedies much huh? Raising Hope and The Middle are two of the best(possibly the best outside of
In reality i dont think thereβs a world where Wyle isnt in season 3. Revised prediction is that theyve tipped it so hard it actually comes to a head before the end of season 2. Maybe he tries to suicide and Langdon/Head Nurse save him just in time.S2 ends with him getting the help he needs. Revised revised prediction is that itβs a cliffhanger. Seems like just the thing this se
He is the perfect main character for this show. Can't imagine someone else replacing his screen time.
Cause he just blends seemlessly from one scene into the next. Army Dr doesn't have that kind of presence swagger and neither does the new replacement head lady.
A perfect s3 start point would be Dr Robbie's first day back from a long time off.
I did think the stethoscope part was convincing though. That's a perfect potential foreshadowing moment.
Born to Bowl - A24 miniseries documentary airing on HBO max about PBA bowling. Only one episode so far but well done. Has the same narrator as Hard Knocks. Just a bunch of guys trying to chase their dream with little financial reward. I used to bowl and know a few guys that have been shown in the background, so I’m biased. But the reviews are good.
Liev Schreiber?
Has to be done. Cast has aged 20+ years.
The quality of the animation does concern me. Lot of shows I won't watch because of subpar animation so they really have to nail it.
I think an anime style like Cowboy Bebop..the show Firefly gently rips off..would be perfect!
The animation from the Cowboy Bebop movie might be the best animation ever put to screen. So crisp and fluid
Would be great as Firefly but you are probably right that they will cut corners to save money in the current animation climate
how does Disney animation from 70 years ago look so good?
like how does something like that devolve?
A dollar buying less labor today than it did 70 years ago
and
Using CG to cheaply fill in gaps or outright replace animation all together
When the time and care is put into the animation its as good or better than ever
star trek 6 was in 1991
there was also last picture show in 1971 and its sequal texasville in 1990
they also just tried to do a Buffy the vampire slayer sequal. iirc that ended in 2003. but execs saw the pilot and cancelled it :(
The original series ended in 1969 and the first Star Trek movie with the original cast was 1979.

A series of movies 3 years apart does not look at like another iteration a generation later.
I'm trying to rewatch breaking bad, and it does not hold up well.
the parts with white and Pinkman are fantastic, but the parts with the white family are horrible, unwatchable, have to skip over them. so like half of the show is so bad you have to skip over it.
also hank's partner, I think his name is Gomez? he's maybe the worst actor i've ever seen

Yeah, I remember when the show first came out everyone loved Skylar and Billy

Hand drawn cells by true artists and 24 frames per second.
Devolves through lesser framerate, sloppy drawing and in the last 20 years, computer animation and the perceived need to cut costs and get it out fast.
One of the most funny shows of the last few years is back with season 2 today: Jury Duty.
First season was fantastic, seems like the second is getting great reviews.
Im also getting through Peaky Blinders for the first time. Its good, but i expected more based on the hype its gotten. Cillian Murphy is amazing though. On to Season 4 now.

Peaky was too much of the same thing. Itβs fine, (elite by Netflix standards) but thats about it. I will watch the movie though.
Where do we think DTF is headed?
I think it was:
Spoiler
Suicide
But have heard some theories that it could be:
Spoiler
The son or Batemanβs wife.
Iβm good with any and all possibilities. Itβs such a weird but great show. I was already in before finding out that itβs from the creator of Patriot, which is one of my favorite short lived shows.
My money is on the kid did it

I was hooked from the premier. Weird and great is the best description
the madison Taylor sheridan's new show about a NYC family living in montana
just say the first episode. it was good. not great, but good.
expected a better performance from Kurt russel. something just seemed kinda off about it.
also kinda weird that sheridan consistently casts absurdly beautiful women in his shows
I just finished it and loved it . The writing was phenomenal and I thought Kurt Russell was really good sad that it was only 6 episodes
Agreed on the hot woman but I'm sure the ladies feel the same way about men
So far off from what he has produced in the past
It has an absurdity element like a Tim Robinson bit, but with so damn much heart that you donβt realize it. Itβs so good at these singular moments that stick with you, for various reasons.
And yeah, after that milk incidentβ¦. Iβm changing my prediction lol
