What's the deal with sandwiches?

What's the deal with sandwiches?

Eggs had their day in the sun, and cereal already made it's splash. Now it's time to celebrate an old standby, the sandw

Butter and pepper relish sounds like an excellent base for a lot of sandwiches.

Not quite melted patty melt today.

i've been wondering, with how swiss and ham sandwiches, how do you go about getting to ham to temp without ruining it by overcooking? like an arbys hot ham and cheese

JUST GOOGLED IT:

"I worked there, and it’s literally just 6 pieces of packaged sliced ham, a piece of Swiss, then 6 more pieces of ham, another piece of cheese, popped in a microwave for 30-45 seconds."

"Can also confirm having worked there, it's literally just slices and ham and pre-sliced cheese, microwaved for 30 secs."

(both via reddit i believe)

basically nukely them just short enough to warm without them breaking apart and sweating. I may try a 10 second nuke + hot swiss sauteed in a nonstick pan, quickly

did not think to search the thread

i have a friend who wants to make a coffee table book of club sandwiches from various hotels around the world

i think it's a great idea

Lete get this back on topic with another stabn original.

Get a name for this and trademark it right now that looks fantastic.

I really want to make it myself. Am I right in thinking it's Lardon, peppers and cheese? I feel I'm seeing some tomato aswell

Lardon, red & green peppers, cheddar, no tomato, chili sauce and kewpie mayo.

Two finishing off the same bread this week. Will probably get bread from this truck next weekend.

Vegetarian version of the lardon sandwich with yellow peppers and onions. Still pretty good without the lardon.

And the omelet sandwich I make for breakfast at least once a week.

that reminds me of the market niche dominated by The Helms Bakery in the 1950-1960's

Fresh bread trucks sound pretty awesome.

The guy who drove this truck in the 60's owned a house, a car, and supported a family of four. :(

Did the ham n swiss experiment; about 9 seconds in the microwave melted the cheese and warmed the meat thru decently.

I'm thinking the best method would be cold ham + toasted bun + hot molten cheese (easy to do in a nonstick pan)

Also, nothin' wrong with a cold ham n' swiss!

stabn,

I have a Kewpie question. I get mine from the asian market and it has always been palm oil on the ingredients list, and when I recently re-upped it listed canola oil. Assuming you get original Japanese version, curious what oil is listed on yours.

by stabn k

Interesting. It was soybean oil i was thinking of, not palm. Somehow mine is now a soybean/canola mix of vegetable oil. Thanks for the followup.

The old man grabbed me a Omaha steak variety pack for Christmas and I made some burgers the other night with bacon and roasted jalapeños:

27o,

I would’ve taken the train up there just to eat that burger!

Burger looks good!

This was the meal I ate out last night. There are no target here.

This one was in a different local store but the translation seems... imprecise.
