Hmmm - no bourbon thread?
my body really isn't recovering as well as it used to after scotch, so I've started dipping my toe into Bourbon waters.
fwiw... I was able to score a 2024 BTAC GTS.
grail of modern releases.
The 2024 GTS is delicious. 2023 was good but kind of off
had to scroll up
I am sure Blanton's wins the thread
Duh!
I have an empty bottle that I recycled weeks ago to prove it
My buddy has a bottle of 23 year Pappy that got price referenced in Marvel Secret Invasion at $5k
He wants to drink it
He paid a couple hundred for it
I told him sell it you can take your wife to Iceland
Friend of mine just found Blanton's at MSRP and was kind enough to share. The hype is real. It was very good. I wouldn't pay the secondary market prices for it, but I'd happily pay 2x MSRP.
Reminded me of Uncle Nearest, but smoother. Similar flavor profile and mouthfeel, though.
The new Wild Turkey 101 8 year is very good if you can get it for 50-60$
The key is msrp...
Scored some really great bottles in the last week or so... I am just waiting for them to arrive.
Can’t beat those Costco finds. Costco here got the Elijah Craig c923 and people were able to buy cases of it at ~50$ and now those go for 175-200$
I’d be buying 3-4 at that price. Batch 1s tend to be the best
Well, even though it appears the Jack 14 i ordered died a horrible death in transit to me, there were some good arrivals this afternoon... and there was much rejoicing.
This is how you are supposed to ship safely!

I am super happy about being able to find a place that is willing an impossible to find Dettling bottle...
The GtS is the best unicorn for me, a 2024 batch
Dettling is great, nice scoop. Losing the Jack 14 is brutal though. I still haven't come across one, though it seems I may have a chance in a July raffle
The 24 GTS is fantastic as well. You will be happy if you end up cracking it
I am hoping the jack14 may be just a packing issue... it was supposed to be delivered today then I got the damage package report email. Since then I received another email that said they would attempt delivery tomorrow... so I have my fingers crossed. I've already talked selling store and the owner said take photos and if there's visible damage and moisture, just refuse to accept the package. But of course there are no replacements available.
We'll see tomorrow.
I've seen jack 14 sitting on the shelves here in Vegas, but the cheapest one available is priced at 599$.
600$ doesn't seem like a bad price anymore because secondary pricing is still creeping upwards.
