nothing to write home on but rolling papers

Thats right.. concert posters are a specific genre and having a 1st edition is generally critical.
Martin Sharps work is a Painting, and thusly a different class of collecting.
I dont think the other Jimi poster above is period also. Posters pre 69 were much simpler and different stylistically.
awesome discussion
What are some elite websites for buying posters? My walls are white and I am remiss.
I've had this poster for probably nearly 50 years... still in Mint/perfect condition. The original is great and has a wonderful matte finish in the field areas...
Every kid probably had one of these at one time...
I probably did, but was more of a Porsche person.
I think I have a classic Porsche ad somewhere that I probably should hang.
there are many...
the genre is rather large with sub genres of film (also includes MANY sub genres by period, country of origin, theme, etc), there is music, automobile, architecture, travel, militaria (by country), German Bauhaus, French advertising stylism... and on and on.
some people concentrate on their passion, and some collect across a range of genres based on personal likes or perhaps ROI in that they are getting a good deal on something.
eMovie Poster is a good place to watch valuation on entertainment art work. that auction haus is the premier weekly auction haus in the US, they do a LOT of volume
Expresso Beans is the place I spend a lot of time because they cater to the areas of collecting I like... which is Screen Printed Art work in the Film Genre.
Ebay is also good if you know what you are looking at... but there are many many websites that cater to the ephemera poster collector.
I have some offset Lithography in my collection, but it's limited... I mainly concentrate on Screen Printing because any idiot can produce and offset litho if they have the right equipment... Offsest Lithography is good for VINTAGE posters.
Screen Printing normally takes a Master Print maker to pull off effectively and the 'runs' are normally very low in quantity... preferably under 150 units or so. Less units produced, more rarity.
Stay away from Giclee because it's just a computer Print... Crtl+P for infinity...
Lately I have been considering getting something really big... Something like this:

this is a eight sheet (similar size to the one above) that I have tried to get before... I could not get it at the right price I wanted to pay for it

I would also like to add some old erotica or nudes into my collection... this one is life sized, but I have been back and forth on whether or not to get it.

If I didn't already post it, thanks for your advice Schu.
And for what you've shared.
Schu, assuming you're on insta, i think you'll appreciate Jason & Jen Prouty | Garage 31
was first introduced when they were comissioned to hand paint installations for some of my past Nike projects
both are also extremely skilled with an airbrush
you might consider hiring him/them to paint a mural

that look talented... I have indeed considered commissioning someone to do some painting before. Ive had my old Canine immortalized in oil.
Since I would never be able to have the original Robert McCall 2001: A Space Odyssey Painting, I considered finding someone that could do it for me.
The other painting I would love to commission is a sitting/bust portrait of Abraham Lincoln when he was later in his Administration... when his face was weathered and anguished... Maybe a Bronze bust.
ideal spot to go tell it
Back-to-back tornadoes following an almost identical track in SW Mississippi atm. The first one seemed to be on the ground for a good distance and really kicking ass. The second seems only a little less strong.
Good luck, folks.
eta: Radar showing debris 17,000 feet above ground.
And now a minor (3.0) earthquake is reported in the same area as the tornadoes moving through.
Does fire precede or follow locusts?
Crap! Our escrow manies have been converted to liquid assets!
Enjoy!
eta: Further tornado coverage: a third tornado is going to be crossing the path of the back-to-back tornadoes near a small town. Poor bastards.
