Old man appendectomy sucks. Coworker had that a few months ago.
Do a lot of walking, even if it sucks.
When in Hawaii, spending all day Christmas Eve in the hospital and all day Christmas in the condo sucks. We are going to try to get out today, though.
I didn't know old guys ever needed to get their appendix out.
It beats the hell out of leaving a bad one in!
It takes old guys longer to recover from stuff than they think it will. Trust me.

Went out Friday and Saturday to see the sights. Did a lot of walking Friday. We leave today but not until 11:59pm. So one more day out. Still a little sore, but the spot seems to be moving around. I'm also walking like a 90-year-old.
Did they do an open or laparoscopic appendectomy?
Did they let you keep it?
Laparoscopic. They said that if it was a mess inside they would need to open me up. But it wasn't burst, just perforated.
They did not offer and I did not ask to keep a souvenir.
Flight home was unpleasant but tolerable. Disappointed that the seats were not lay-down like they were on the way out. Hopefully now that I'm home I'll heal up quick.
MtMother1, when she was younger than I am now, burst her appendix in Montana while on vacation when she was still AzMother1. That was a long two+ weeks in the hospital, and she came out looking like she had fought a hard battle. Wouldn't wish that on anyone.
