Netflix "Watch Instantly"

Netflix "Watch Instantly"

I just recently rejoined Netflix and was pleased to see they have added a "Watch Instantly" feature where you can stream a movie over the internet. The selection of movies/shows is subpar, but it's free baby! Well, free as in no extra charge. You can watch 1 hour for every dollar/month your subscription is and it doesn't affect your queued/shipped movies at all. Minuses are that you have to be running Windows and Internet Explorer, but the quality is great! I have a garbage laptop, but it looks the same as a DVD to me and it hasn't skipped/paused/hiccuped once so far.

I was thinking the same thing. I didn't notice it being that dark.

thank you ... finally someone.

was afraid to say something, bc it seems i'm the only one who doesnt like it.
tried it twice, but really didn't appeal to me at all ... no idea why, may be i'm missing something

I can't say I don't like it, I'm just busy with re-watching House right now, then I might start something new

Happy Invincible season 3 day. The show is so damn good.

How many episodes does one need to be in before they're no longer a special guest star?

That probably has to do with pay scale, right? As opposed to a series regular or just cast? I know a series regular gets paid for every episode, whether they are in the episode or not.

Ah that makes sense.

credits are negotiated, just like pay.

My favorite is when you have equal stars in a movie...the movie poster often has their names like this:

............................Brad Pitt
Tom Cruise

With Pitt being on top but Cruise being on the left.

This is considered "equal" billing.

Common Side Effects is good. An animated Big Pharma Conspiracy Thriller on Max and Adult Swim. IMDB is 8.6.
The first 2 short episodes are out.

A good podcast on this and the history:

Like the other said, its 100% contractual. Just like TARA on BTVS when she was in literally every episode for 2 seasons. For dexter, im imagining that she was really happy about doing it and didnt want to ruin the show's budget by being a regular and getting a ton more money. She's already super wealthy and she isnt a money hungry sociopath.

I noticed the other day, Diggs in season 4 of Gilmore girls appears in the regular cast a few episodes before hes even introduced and he doesnt even show up in a few episodes after hes introduced. Michel was a main cast yet appeared very little in most seasons.

I'd love to see how they work these things out

Pantheon season 1 is really good, keeps getting better throughout the season.

It's on Netflix and they just announced Season 2 on 2/21/25. It's been out awhile though, and you can find each episode on Youtube if you don't want to wait. I haven't watched season 2 yet, but it's supposed to be even better.

It's animated with a lot of famous voices. I can't stand Michael Kelly's voice on that character. lol

The recruit

Spoiler
Show

Stupid but entertaining enough. Wish they had at least one more episode as everything gets wrapped up very quickly and stupidly in the last episode.

I have a mildly traumatic memory of this from my time at PokerStars. We had negotiated some kind of deal with promoting the movie Ocean's 11 - I think they all signed a poker felt or something, we had pics of them doing it, and there was a promotion to give away the felt. I remember sending the copy in for the promo email or web site or whatever, just listing the actors in whatever order I remembered them. Got a very terse note back: "The actors must be listed in the following order exactly:..."

This latest episode of Severance was freaking weird! Even by Severance standards lol

I think this was in regard to e3 and e4 ended up being even a little stranger imo. Thankfully, the it ended strong.

Up until this point I haven’t seen a reason to question the writing for the show so I’m hoping this all plays out well.

Absolutely! And by a ****-load lol

Number 24 on Netflix is pretty solid. Now is a good time to watch a movie with Nazis getting whacked.
