New fast food discussion/review thread

OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.

I'll eat Applebee's Ornamental Chicken Salad until I die, but not that many times a year. Actually only 12 times a year and it would pay for itself.

Hmmm.

Can't use for tax or tip or alcohol though. So spend $30 + 10% tax + 20% tip you are walking out paying an additional $9-10 every time even if you don't drink. Also can't be used with any other offers. Not sure if that includes happy hour pricing or not.

Also unless you share it with friends not sure how someone manages to eat Applebee's 52 times in a year.

Close enough since you can get takeout, but $200 for applebees date night that ALLOWS TO GO, $30 of food 52 times in a year ordering once every 24 hours.

Seems like a steal (even tho Applebees food sucks)

I hate eating out and I'm not a huge fan of Applebees, but damn that's a good enough deal I might have to try to score one of those.

I often would go once a week to McDonald's for free fries Friday, it's not that much harder to go-to Applebee's for whatever value this deal offers.

Can someone do the math for me

I'm a little glad I don't have an Applebee's near me. Lol

Over Christmas I've bought $200 of Carl's Jr giftcards. Half the time I go, I end up kicking myself because I forgot to either bring the cards or use them.

I imagine you're gonna be sick of applebees around May and will dread getting applebees but you need to because you bought the thing. Especially if it excludes alcohol. Unless there's an overall good fish I wouldn't get sick of.

I just finished lunch at Peiwei (BOGO until 6pm code - bogoflash). I got some fortune cookie wisdom about the Applebee's deal:

Will be doing the Applebees thing. Happens to be one of my partners favorite chain restaurants. So I’m already visiting 7 times a year and spending 30$+ to make it free $$$.

Things they’ve got going for them. Exclusive berry MTN dew thats tasty. Cheeseburgers are all pretty good, quesadilla burger probably the best. Like their onion rings and chicken tenders. Pastas are fine. The desserts are all good.

This deal seems like an easy buy especially if you have a child.

Reminds me of the good old days of the daily smash pass at smashburger

Yeah as a single person pounding $30 worth of Abblevees in one sitting may be a bit too much.

Or they change the menu prices so that it's impossible to get close or near $30

👍

And 10,000 SE points for superb placement immediately after Cowboy's post!

SE points for me!?!? Hooray!

Do you need to have a date?

My little town has an Applebee's!

52 times a year? I could prob do 200 times a year. They have a big menu.

Don't need a date from what I could tell. You can even just pick it up to go after ordering on the app/online. I wonder how many they will sell. There are only going to be a "limited number".

Isn't saying "we only have a limited number" code for "limited to how many we can sell?"

I buy discounted gift cards from credit card points to red robin, cracker Barrel and outback. Usually about 45 points for a 50 card but I've gotten it for 40

I was there last night. My go to meal, Bourbon Street Chicken & Shrimp, was $18.99 by itself. Throw an appetizer in there and we're at $30 pretty quickly. Though yeah, putting all that down by myself would take some work.

That said, I'll absolutely be looking to grab one of those passes.

Heck with an offer like that you can Get a date if you don't have one. Chicks love the 'Bees.

I've really been thinking about it.

The wife and I could go once or twice a month and she could take the girls the other couple times.

I can't decide whether I'd be more, or less, likely to get it if single. You don't need to spend $30 a visit to still get great value.

Not familiar with Abblevees apps, but getting a meal + app to go sounds like the move. I'd look for apps that reheat well.

Not sure how messy the average meal is there now, but I'd imagine tearing into the burger and fries in the parking lot like a savage and saving the app for later.

25 minute drive one way for me, sad.

MCD daily double plus pickle, mustard, ketchup, free fries Friday.

Bun slightly stale. Like last time. May need to email these fools about stale buns

Make sure you tell them how your disappointment was immeasurable and that your day was ruined.

I looked at the menu and a burger or sammich plus some wings eats up the $30.

They're really impressed by a cheapskate with a discount gift card?

My wife is!

At Chili's you can get an app, drink and burger/chicken sandwich w/fries for $11 with no coupon.

Chili's are non-existent here. Google says there used to be some, never been to one.

Thought they were Mexican though?
