New fast food discussion/review thread
OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.
In
I regularly do the double FoF as it's good value relatively speaking, only about 25% more for an extra patty which is where the bulk of the cost should be. They're always made fresh too as it's not a stock item under the heat lamps. Watch out for mouth scalding though they can be lava. I recommend ordering with extra sauce (no upcharge).
I miss the surf and turf burgers from a few months ago, man those were good with added tartar.
I don't think they ever had those in the Lower 48.
Thanks. 45 cents for Mac Sauce lol.
The Unsweetened ice tea at $1.85 for a large is not bad at all. Next time I’ll say light ice.
You can buy Mac sauce, In-n-Out, etc clones at Walmart.
The new TB street chalupas look good. Although, I'm guessing each is only a couple of bites, so the $5.50 price point is a little steep. The steak and chicken are the same price in my area.
Anyone tried them yet?
I pretty much avoid any new TB products anymore these days for good reason - they're mostly overpriced un-filling garbage.. ReviewBrah gave a thumbs down earlier today fwiw (and they indeed look like s**t especially for the price point):
otoh, I enjoyed a regular Beef Chalupa earlier today in my Lux Box which was filled at least 3x more full as the crap ReviewBrah had.
I tried them out and thought the taste and quality was good. But yeah, expensive. Compare size to the taco/burrito. $3-$4 would feel more reasonable. But they up charge for the “marinated” steak and “slow roasted” chicken.
I doubt I’ll get them again.

👍 I appreciate your review and TB loyalty - even though they don't really deserve it much these days.
Review brah really looks like an albino rat. It’s uncanny.
I'm just over here riding the $7 big Mac meal all summer!
Finally figured out that the survey BOGO is on the front of the receipt now. Unfortunately that's probably too much McDonald's, maybe. I could double task and order large fries via app while I order at the counter, but the days of fast counter service are long gone
I got a pretty good chain pizza from Domino's yesterday, $7.99 for a 1-topping large w the NY crust. I think I prefer the NY crust to the hand-tossed.
Wingstop 5 free wings today only thru the app with code: FREEWINGS with any chicken purchase.
Get some!
It's week 2 of the CFA Code Moo in app game. This week, play the game get a free brownie.
Yumm!
Papadias from Papa John's are fire.

Had a BOGO on beefy five layers in the app and didn't realize the avocado salsa was
20 cents each. Not bad on the beefy but I wouldn't pay for it over fire again.
Also wouldn't get the beefy without the BOGO again since they are $5 in Seattle.
if it helps, the Avocado Verde packets are included gratis on any Cantina Chicken purchases.
also if it helps, the Beefy 5 is a staple of any of their boxes or online exclusive combo deals. Basically the combo costs the same as a Beefy 5 a la carte.
Yeah the premium box in the app is $7 here and would be my normal pick if I didn't have a BOGO.
I like to add beans to the stacker, then it’s basically a beefy 5 for $1 cheaper. Especially since I usually get the beefy 5 grilled.
I really enjoy the avocado verde, but mainly prefer it for the cantina items, specially the hard taco and quesadilla. That quesadilla is terrible value, but I really like it. Still prefer hot or Diablo for the rest.
GFD McDonald's removed the $7 big Mac deal and replaced it with a $7 10pc mcnugget meal deal.
So salty right now
I stopped by Rick’s cuz I was in the area this morning.
Got myself BOGO breakfast sandies (1x/Day app deal).
I opted for Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuit which was pretty good
And a Sausage Egg and Cheese McMuffin which was actually excellent.
an excellent mcmuffin deserves an excellent mcmuffin
I'm missing egg muffins right now. My car's broke and been in the shop for a month. For me to get an egg muffin costs me two $12 cab rides, so that makes for expensive fast food. I've been eating mostly delivered Pizza Hut and my emergency stash of canned and microwave food.
App deals have fallen off a cliff what the heck?
