*** Official OOT Less Important Than George Michael RIP Thread ***
Here's a catchall thread for condolences for all your George Michael and below subchampions. May they all RIP.
RIP Alla
Kiss my grits!
Mel's Diner is still open here in Phoenix. Maybe I'll drop off some flowers, start a memorial.
Far more important than George Michael.
Yeah, for all intents and purposes this is the consolidated RIP thread. I think the title is just a funny reminder of the discussion of line setting for “important” deaths. It’s hilarious how good of a dividing marker George Michael is.
Multiple RIP threads would definitely be annoying.
Arguably as annoying as people making complaints like
and then not posting a thread themselves.
Is George Michael supposed to be an average death? If so, who's on the other end of the bell curve for the Sundance Kid?
It's a joke, people.

Jim Belushi———George Michael———Robert Redford
Jim Belushi most famous for mediocre comedy.
Robert Redford known mostly to me for a mediocre baseball movie.(Don't bother trying to convince me to watch **** from the 60s)
George Michael is still catchy music.

Mediocre catchy music.
Of course not every movie Redford was in is a great one, but he was in several of the most acclaimed movies of their time. I haven't seen many of them personally so can't really judge, but he was definitely a very well respected actor.
You can always count on txdome to be well-cultured.
go pick me out a winner, Bobby
i was in early high school at the hight of my baseball fandom when The Natural came out
it would continue to be the epitome of baseball movies until five years later when Field of Dreams and Major League came out while i was playing in college
Mediocre catchy music.

the natural was awful, didn't understand the hype and aura around it at all
this is the greatest music video of its generation - david fincher's finest work
I do not want to watch that video because I know I don't like the song.
The only actually good song I've ever heard by him was "Faith", and some Wham songs are among the worst of all time, including my most hated Xmas song ever.
Worse than the abomination that Paul McCartney created?
I'm glad we're talking about songs rather than new dead people.
Personally I love Last Christmas. I think it’s legit one of the best Xmas songs.
This is something I could make as a 9 year old in the 80s with my casio keyboard.
