What a legend. Tv/film/writing/directing/producing. He did it all and pumped out comedies and dramas alike that became classics.

Can't be a worse way to go than dying at the hand of your son by knife. Might have had to watch his wife and child's mom die first too, brutal

we all are destined to go some unknown point in our time
celebrations of his lifelong impact on our human experiences at least deserved a different opening speach

RIP Joe

RIP The Flatlanders

Joe recently released an interesting twist on a Townes van Zandt classic:

A real loss - I only got to see Joe live once but have several of his albums. Guess I'll spend the afternoon with some of them.

Yep. Guess I know what I'll be doing tonight. Thanks for the links already posted. Sad

I suspect Joe never expected to get an obituary in the NY Times.

The first song to pop up on my playlist today was Row of Dominoes.

are those songs the same without his guitar or keyboard?

Which songs? They only released one memorable / popular song since he joined. When he joined is exactly when their popularity and critical acclaim started falling.

What a life. RIP Bob. What a bummer on a Saturday night.

Thank god there are so many GD cover bands. I can’t think of a band that has more. Joe Russo almost dead is my favorite. Highly recommend JRAD if you haven’t listened to them.

Bummed. Got to see Bob play a couple times. About 35 years ago at Sam Boyd Stadium and more recently at the Sphere. His son, Rob is a Video Editor that I worked with at a couple Olympics.

countless thousands of weir'd music listening hours

Saw Weir/Wasserman in 92 (??)91 in Tempe at the Devil House (or whatever it was called then)Club Rio. 5 feet from the man for the entire show (Wasserman no slouch, either)

No pics, no setlist, no recording. Barely a memory...
