Hey dumbo. Ended up playing with you last night at plo. You are a tough player, definitely someone I was avoiding playing pots with. Sorry about not straddling. Your blog inspired me to try my hand at returning to semi pro poker 15 years after black Friday ended my pro career. Today that dream ended with a 4k plo loss, $200 at a time. At least the fish will be loaded next time

Hey! Good playing with you. Sorry you had to see me get wrecked your first time playing with me, I swear I normally run much better! 😀

Sorry it was so rocky for you. I lost $4k too! The variance can be tough when you short buy. Gl and nice to meet you.

This is the best news I've heard as a no limit player at mgmnh in a long time. Did you know that us regs have organized a WhatsApp group to review hands that you've played in order to develop a generalized strat for playing against you? You were pulling so much money out of the no limit games that you really left us with no choice. It seems like you are years, maybe decades, ah

Is that even legal? You guys killed Dumbo’s NL winrate by organizing a WhatsApp group against him so now he has to resort to PLO! If I were Dumbo I would complain to the managers.

Aside from writing letters to management, Dumbo really needs to write a strat guy for NL! It would be an instant best seller. He can charge $1000 for it and the regs in the group chat will all snap buy it to take their game to the next level

Very funny acting like you're not in the group. Hell, you were one of the first five members if I remember correctly. A few of us were considering moving or quitting all together until we started to really study Dumbo's game.

And there is no way this is illegal. If it were illegal a respected lawyer would have immediately pointed it out. C'mon.

Last night did fine, ran well at plo, market breached all time highs. Covering for colleagues the next couple weeks including over the holiday weekend again. Happy to keep busy as this week was a little slow.

Had a nice team win yesterday, lawyer who went to my alma mater got released, she was all smiles when she found out the decision too. You can tell people feel dignified when someone is standing up for their rights even though many in society have written them off altogether. Very special job.

Been really working on my sleep hygiene too the past week and going much better. Have a couple law school mentees as well that are keeping me busy.

Good point.

But I don’t appreciate your mudslinging. If I were in your elite chat group I would have learned the advanced strategies of bumhunting, short stacking, getting it in pre with aces and hitting and running. Instead I’m stuck grinding promos at 1/3 everyday praying for the payout that’ll get me even for the month.

I’m appalled at the level of trolling in this thread recently. It’s way below expectations. Need to step up your game.

I'm not sure why you're pretending not to be in the group---I could almost swear you were at our first in person meeting on p3. If I do have you mistaken for someone else then sorry. Just DM me and I'll invite you to the group. We are a pretty positive bunch and we do some pretty detailed (if I may say so) hand analysis of Dumbo's hands.

You're welcome to join us. We are not hard to find. We're in the room and we style our fashion choices after the photos you used to post with empty clothes draped on your bed as if the wearer of the clothes had been raptured to heaven. Stop by and say hi.

Dumbo needs to take the invitation and stop by to eat all these cocky pros fish and bankrupt them $300 at a time. Hit and run then go back to PLO and do it all again, baby!

Top tier. I especially like the rapture reference.

If any of these well-dressed players want to grab a cup of coffee sometime let me know.

At 2/5 I open 88 and get two callers, one of whom with position on me is wearing black sunglasses and a black aria hoodie. Unknown to me otherwise. Seems grinder type. On 953r I cbet and he calls. Heads up now it checks through on 6. On the Q river I lead $75 and he raises to $200. I tank and jam for $650. He tanks and says “you’re not psychotic.” “You’re not crazy.” And folds. I say, “actually I am,” and table the bluff. He says “wow I never thought you were crazy or had 88, I had AQ. I mean that in a good way.” Hahaha!!!

Dumbo serious question but how do you deal with the bullying/disrespect from the poker room? It seems like you get a ton of unnecessary crap from these ppl daily. When I play poker if someone makes a comment that rubs me the wrong way I tend to not feel welcome and stop playing live for a while any tips on how you show up everyday and have to deal with all this negativity? I would be tempted to just do something else under these circumstances and just get away from these miserable ppl.

You can ignore it and just feel pity for them because in attacking you they are just projecting their own misery on you and “misery loves company.” They want you to be unhappy like them. You can respond in kind to fight back/defend yourself and give them a taste of their own medicine. The way I deal with it is by trying to focus on the positives like the friends I’ve made and the money. That keeps me coming back.

I had a dealer berate me for not verbally responding to her question the other day “how many cards did I deal?” after I moved my hands out of the way to show her I had one card. She went on and on about how disrespectful that was and I should reply as she was my elder (by like 10 years). lol.

Why would you let loser casino lurkers impact your life? Unhappy people are haters and the more success you have the more you will run into them. I would focus on what your personal goals are in life as well as your family and drown out the background noise - it happens in all forms of business, can't run from it.

Just live poker in general seems very negative these days which in turn makes for a less than fun experience and tend to not want to come back to play but I’m a rec with a career so it’s different. Was just wondering how pros dealt with this negativity when they have to play no matter what.

Have you considered you’re the negative one when you’re always the common denominator? Every poker room has a handful of miserable a-holes who ruin the fun for everyone else. A telltale sign is if you’re a single guy with no kids who is at the poker room everyday and gets into petty arguments with not just players but even the dealers. The dealers are there to work and have an incentive to be friendly to the players so if they hate you too you must be miserable to be around and a huge stiff.

Excuse me, he's a top 5 PLO player show some respect.

Recreational and pros love the chance to see his greatness. When he walks into the room you witness calculated min buy-ins, rapid table changing and seat changing. His aura is unmatched. He seeks the weakest opponents in the room, only so they can get better from watching him play.

He's kind enough to share his wisdom by berating fish and telling the dealers know how bad they are for dealing him bad hands. Almost daily, he is fearlessly putting the floor in their place. When the game is too slow he will sling chips and fling cards around to help the dealer do their job, all while getting the sickest reads on his opponents.

He doesn't need to tip the dealers well in terms of cash, because his tip is them just being able to breath the same air as a top 5 plo player .

He immediately becomes table captain and keeps the games in check by telling on people to the floor with no hesitation, or evidence of wrongdoing .

When he gets stacked by a fish and wants to go north himself, he will go for it because the rules shouldn't apply to him. It's only because he's so good at poker the regs are jealous and hate on him.

I once saw him tank for 5 minutes with the second nut flush to a 1/3 donk bet on the river and somehow pulled off the amazing call.

These are things that it takes to be great, you wouldn't understand you are just a hater. He pities the haters.

Bro I was talking to KeepGLOBALfair not DumbosTrunks but please tell us more since you seem to know the legendary DumbsTrunks in real life. One of my favorite past times is reading stories about people who are masters at their craft as an attempt to absorb some of their greatness.

Yeah I’ve gone back and forth between taking the high road and fighting back over the years. I think mellow is the way to go.

It's not him.. it's the floor, the dealers, the fish, the regs, the recs, the pros.

The poker room was slow on July 4th and the games were just mediocre. Seems like the whales have fulfilling lives outside of poker, unlike the regs!

For my part I kept it light-hearted and mellow. Gave some action to the few action players at plo and sometimes got it in good but didnÂ’t win many of them. Thankfully my investments and other income sources are working overtime for me even as the poker results have been lackluster recently and IÂ’m in the best shape financially IÂ’ve ever been. Thank you, compounding interest!

Ran so so yesterday but made a really good comeback towards the end of the session at plo and hold em to reduce the losses considerably to just a few hundo from a few grand. Big one was AQJT8 in a big bloated pot pre and I went runner runner on 754 to make a flush. The 9h on the turn gave me a huge draw. Backdoor equity is great!

Covering for a colleague this holiday weekend and have to prep more for tomorrow.
