Nice week, gl mate

by DrJuanGonzalez

Nice read once again!

Thanks You Guys!

by DrJuanGonzalez

That's funny with the unsubbing from gym...
How do you want to train?

I 10kg since I went Pro (atm 85kg 190cm) which is a good thing as I'm finally at normal weight. The main reason for leaving gym is that after going +10 times a moth, I can barely do 1-2 pull ups or dips. Always respected bodyweight exercises more and avoided them as they are harder.

Plan is to do this every Mon/Wen/Fri (lower body once).

Week 53 Recap

Greetings,
Trash week, bad performance at tables and event played some session with tilt. Some bright moments where making some deep runs in mtts and almost winning another 1500€ package (came 2nd but started 8bb vs 70bb), also playing holding my own at 100nl (only 750h).
Will take it slow this week focusing on quality and mental, dropping one table (4 cash 1 mtt). Also want to improve my routine (better sleep, better diet, better workouts, better track of my mental).
Monday free and Tuesday till Sunday slow steady grind (want to play 10k hands).

Agree...I try to barrel only good draws or good blockers if I do follow up OTT and 64dd on paired board and 2s 7s could be disastrous ahould not fall in that category

Week 54 Recap

Greetings,
Better week but still a lot of flaws, start of the week was promising but playing 6 days in a row was not a great idea and close to the end I started playing worse and worse.
Routine was really good at the start of the week but started lacking as week went on. Need of full day free from poker after 3 days of grinding.
Mtts when well, tried satty into 320$ with my 55$ ticket because of nice overlay but lost 55 vs A5s and QJs vs A4o to soft bubble. Also won a small mtt to start the week. But will try to keep cash & mtts separate as I'm not happy with cash results.

This week plan to play grind cash Tue/Wen, Thursday idk, Friday Morning flying to Prague to play live mtt and live cash till Tuesday.

... do you ever foresee yourself playing online tournies full time Dee? My assumption is at least for low stakes tournie > cash for profitability?

I'm too comfortable with cash rn to think much about it, but i can forsee a future where I switch to the most profitable stream. (plus AFAICT in europe it's the only reliable profitable live career available?)

Naa, mainly because I thank my tourney success to my studies/grind at cash and my goal for foreseeable future is to keep getting better and I'm afraid that by switching to mtt I will stall my progress. might start taking days off to play mtts but that will still be exception.

I think there are a lot of good places to play live cash in Europe atm, I know of Prague and Malta but there is so much more to explore...Tallin, Helsinki, Rozvadov, London, Stockholm, Bratislava, Vienna, Barcelona, Nice (played there and won mtt lol), Tbilisi... just the ones I have heard about/checked(Plan is to check them all).

Ah k, thanks. I'm just naive. People were saying london is dead/bad but you never know where people are @ or if they are FOS

Maybe it is, I'm no expert. I just know they have few places to play. If I ever play there will report here.

How's the grind going?

by beef666

How's the grind going?

Trip went bad (lost in live cash~160$ and all 5 mtts that I played(-200$)). Online haven't been much better, but feeling better with my performance/confidence every passing day. Will update in detail on Monday (flew back home this Tuesday and was too lazy to do weekly update).

Week 55 & 56 Recap

Greetings,
Underperformed for two weeks. Trip went pretty bad poker wise and made me realize how big of a mental fish I still am.
Day 1 of Prague trip as soon as I landed went straight to casino (with limited sleep and little jet lag, yes I know degen) played 9am game that was running from yesterday. Instead of promised NLHL 10/30 (120nl) they played double bomb pot PLO5 100czh from each (every pot was ~30$) there was 2 huge whale and I know a little about DBP so game was +EV but after doubling and bleeding back to slight profit decided to leave. Later that day played NLHL in different club and lost 1,5 buyin (in tilting matter), same night played small mtt which I finished 5 off the money.
Day 2 played 80eur (minus extra 30eur for two satty bullets that I lost), Kings Casino Big50 which went well up until I lost it QQ vs 88 in like 30th place (14 get to day two) after playing it for ~8h.
Day 3/4 played small mtts each ~30eur and lost all of them (-120eur).
After coming back from Prague switched my focus towards mental instead of strategy, also plan to make goals for upcoming 5 months (June - October) to really stay disciplined and improve as a played (mainly mental). Then In November I have Bratislava package for 550eur and 250eur mtt. Goals would be Result/Volume/Discipline/Mental/Study, still have few days to work on them. Just the idea of having goals + focusing on mental for last few days have been big increase in my performance and I plan to keep going in right direction. Also no more mixing cash & mtts online and gonna full focus on cash, maybe some mtt only grinds in evening but not sure.

This week, Mon/Thu free and Tue/Wen/Fri/Sat/Sun grind.

Online Cash: +126.14$
Online Mtts: -250$

Live Mtts: -300$
Live Cash: - 180$

RB: +100$

Total: -503,86$

Naa, I prefer weekly. And thanks for the good luck wishes.

Small Update:

To keep myself accountable and on my best game, made few important to me goals. Until 31st October, because in November I have trip to Bratislava (won 1500€ package, 550€ and 250€ mtt). Will be updating these goals every week and you will be able to find them at the bottom of weekly recaps.

Goals 01.06.-31.10. (153 days)
0/2000 2000 min of mediation
0/300 300h of study

0/10 +10bb/100h
0/15000 15k$ profit

Week 57 Recap

Greetings,
Good week, was locked in and played good imo. Just the idea of having set goals for future helped me perform in much better level. Also focus on mental, tracking mental leaks/triggers during session and how I react to it has been very useful in preventing it in future sessions. Sunday grind was bit annoying but not that bad as it would be in past.
Will completely drop online mtts for following 5 moths as they take up mental space and I want to have best possible cash grind during this time.
Plan is to build on this weeks success with good discipline and mental work.
This week, Mon/Thu free and Tue/Wen/Fri/Sat/Sun grind.

Week 58 Recap

Greetings,
Better week, good routine and mental. Tried my best to follow optimal schedule and study/track my mental. Still few missteps during the week (Sunday could have played better). Games where decent/good. Played only cash with no distractions (Mtts) and felt back into my old self.
Gonna keep pushing into this directions and not let early success ease my focus. Also want to increase my volume from 20h to 30h grind per week, should be easy if I play 2h sessions instead of 1h 30min and have better morning routine... Not gonna force it as mental is still NR1 priority.

Week 59 Recap

Greetings,
Very demoralizing week. Started lacking with everything as a result of bad run...Obviously in many spots I could have played better, but don't think that would bring my EV line above 0. Many setups pre/post. Biggest takeaway from this week was being too results oriented and lacking in work ethics.

Week 60 Recap

Greetings,
Decent week, could be better. Tue/Wen/Fri where good, good discipline, solid study and for most part good poker. Saturday/Sunday had terrible sleep (mostly cat) and played half of the intended session and was not playing my best. Which is really annoying as Saturday/Sunday the games are best they can be in whole week and I'm not there to maximize profits. But still solid week and good comeback from week before.

Week 61 Recap

Greetings,
Interesting week, routine was good and performance felt good. Good study time esp in mornings, have been really hard to study mid day (after first session) so will try to put all the study time in mornings. Felt like I was up decent amount of money during the week but in reality it was me climbing out of hole...which might be harder if I knew how deep in the hole I was. On Sunday after first session on accident saw my BR and was a bit devasted to realize I'm break even instead of being up money, so much so that I played super poorly next session and decided to finish session early + not start 3rd session. Will go back to looking at results during week (not during sessions).
This week will play everyday (Mon/Wen only one evening session) and do my studies in mornings only.
