It should be possible to drill vs the database.
Can you please check if you're using v160?
Go here for download: https://www.gtoplus.com/download/

oh gawd if this works Ill dance naked in the streets

using 1.5.4, Ill update later....

by scylla k

I don't immediately see why one of the flops is removed for the graph display.
I have tried with v160, and the 3s2s2d flop does show up over here with the given filter settings.
Is it possible for you to send a savefile for this database to support?
To bring down its size, save it with "File->Save: Convert to Basic storage".

OK.
Sent database save file to "help@gtoplus.com".

Ok, I have taken a look at the file, and replied to your mail.

Problem solved.

hello Im trying to test the ev loss of a 3b oop node where hero 3bets and removing the option to xR after checking but just using a bet/check strat

so if I check and IP bets, I would not xR it would not be a strategic option.

I have imported tree and manually removed the xR option but...

now the sim has IP stabbing 90% which would be predicted if OOP never xraises

I cant figure out how to lock IPs strategy to the standard strat that they would do if the OOP xr was possible for them to face

I want to do this bc Im making the assumption that they would never figure out my simplification and would continue to play the "standard" way

does gto+ even allow for this?

the only thing I can think of is manually changing all the IP's strats of every single strength bucket to match the original after removing the xr option but this is super inefficient

thanks

like a copy/paste entire strategy as nodelock option would make this super easy

I just want to make sure that I correctly understand the situation that you're trying to set up.

I think that should make it easier to provide you with an answer.

Allow me to try again

Sim is for 3B OOP SB vs BTN
Hero is SB and can either bet, check, or xraise
I want to test the ev of a simplified strategy by removing the xR option | to force OOP to only bet or check
But of course if I do this, IP will now know I never xraise and will close to range bet IP if I check (bc I never xR)
I wish to force IP's strategy to be the same as if I was allowed to xraise
The assumption is that IP will never realize my simplification and will continue using the same strategy as they would use if OOP xraise was an option

but, I cant find a way to lock IP's strategy to what it would be if OOP could xraise and also edit the tree to remove the xraise option

the easiest solution would be to copy IPs strategy vs the unsimplified strategy of bet, check, xraise
then paste this strategy into IP's strategy after removing the xraise option for OOP

so that IP's strategy will never change after removing the xR option - they will continue to play as if they expect to face a xraise

so far either removing the xraise option after importing tree and manually removing it

or setting 0 as a xraise size in build tree decision interface

both of these options will remove the option for OOP to xraise but they also seem to remove the locks for IPs strategy

thus allowing IP to always optimally counter the simplified strategy (which I dont want)

You can copy-paste ranges in GTO+, even between two separate windows.
So open one window with the unedited tree, and one with the edited tree.
Then, in the unedited decision, go to the "Output" icon and click on "Copy to clipboard".
In the target window, go to the "Output" icon and click on "Paste from clipboard".

scy how are you?

Is there a way to improve the loading time when we select a flop from a subset?

I can spend 1 minute opening it (I have 64 GB of ram)
the feature with the problem is "load only a selection of trees"

In a subset of 163 flops, I only choose 1 and it takes a long time to open.

Is there any documentation on the possible commands to use for socket mode?

This was an experimental feature, that we have decided to not provide support for, given that the userbase is too small.

We can take a look at it, but for the moment large savefiles may take some time to load.
An alternative would be to export the database into its separate trees, and load the specific tree that you're looking for.
For this, use "Export database".

I found a very small easy to improve thingy. My keyboard input has a decimal comma on the numpad, but GTO+ only accepts decimal points. Can you make this work with both instead?
Thank you in advance mighty Scylla

Also.. Why does a monotone flop need less memory for the same tree? I want to understand.

Ok, I'll see if we can make this work.

On a AhKhQh flop, all club, diamond and spade cards can be treated as being the same.
So, basically, we can treat AcKc,AdKd,AsKs as a single hand by bucketing them together.

Hi Scylla, can you add drill a decision for basic storage? It could be slow for some sims, but sometimes the turn is slow in normal play against the solution or when going to the turn when browsing the solution. It would be a great feature to use with smaller trees.

We'd have to look into whether there's any situations where this might lead to issues.
The advantage of only providing this feature for "Extensive" storage is that no calculations need to be performed in the background.

Good day!
I found out today that I can run different trees in one database. Which is awesome!!
It however would be nice to see the amount of starting stack (and the percentages/names of the ranges) when overviewing all flops in database to more easily see the difference between the solves.

Usually, when a database has all identical trees, with the only difference being the pot/stacks/ranges/etc, the most straightforward approach would be to give it a custom name that describes its contents.
This custom name can be entered when adding the tree with "Add current tree".
At the moment the custom name is not displayed in the "Database" view, but this will be changed for v161.

@scylla,

when opening a GTO database file, let's say 30GB, sometimes in windows task manager it shows CPU being used at 40-50% and other times 0-5%, sometimes the file being pushed to memory at 1000MB/s and other times only 200MB/s.

I noticed when CPU usage is high, memory speed is very low (200MB/s) and the file takes a lot of time to open. When CPU use is very low (5%), memory speed is 1000MB/s and the file opens much much faster.

I have tested multiple times, first thing after a reboot, with the same file. Sometimes is faster, sometimes is much slower.

I'm using Windows 11, CPU 7950x, 96GB DDR5 RAM. GTO+ installed on C:\ drive, GTO+ files are on another physical drive, both NVMe SSD.

Any idea why?

TY

Most likely some other process is competing for a necessary resource in your system, which creates a bottleneck.
There's many moving parts in a computer, so it may be difficult to narrow down exactly why files sometimes take longer to load.

The same file will always consistently be loaded in the exact same way, so, whatever is causing the higher/lower CPU usage will not be due to GTO+ performing a different set of operations.
Is it perhaps possible that your virus scanner is interfering with the operation of the software?

Hello,

I am trying to node lock all flop decisions for OOP AND IP. I put the locks as in the screenshot, but the solution for IP gets changed. OOP looks like excpected. Could you please point me to the right approach? I want the flop completely locked and only turn and river solved. How Do I do that?

Thank you!

The approach that you're using is the correct one.
Can you perhaps send a savefile to support?
I have tried with a tree over here, and IP's solution seems to remain fixed for me.
