So, looks like Trump not only smashed the electoral college, but is looking on track to win the popular vote, which seems to be an unexpected turn of events, but a clear sign of the current temperature in the country and perhaps the wider world.
Would be interested to hear views on how his 2nd term will pan out from both sides of the aisle - major happenings, what he's going to get done, what he's not going to get done, the impact of his election on the current conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, whether his popularity will remain the same, wane, or increase, etc.

Yeah, as we know that's not freedom, it's fascism.
But just like cults, where people who are in them, don't realize they are, fascism can be very much the same thing. It's generally only seen by observing red flags, like opposing truths are the same. My enemy is weak and ignorant, and also strong and cunning.
But the biggest red flag of fascism is the inability to compromise. If you have people saying they won't come to the table and find middle/common ground, then you know you're dealing w/ a fascist.

Hello? Musk didn't make any decision. Musk used his influence to motivate enough VOTERS and interested american people to stop a bill he disliked. That's identical to say Taylor Swift trying to avoid a bill from passing.
Or any other interest group trying to change the determinations of parliament.
Every congressperson can vote as he wants to. But now there is a sheriff in town going through the horrific , monstrous, inimical bills those people were accostumed to pass with the media theater saying "that's how things are done" and being ok with it because of political reasons.
People in parliament should be held responsible individually, each and every one of them, for every vote they take or decide not to take, that's how democracy is supposed to work.
What you are seeing is the USA discovering that for decades, media played the part of the comptroller while being in bed with the people it was supposed to control for every action. From now on every single time parliament acts, every decision will be put in the spotlight and dissected with no mercy, and that's how it should have always been.
