Yep. The deluge of constant insanity (5% of which wouldn't have been tolerated for any previous president) has been extremely effective. For some reason, the attitude of "Trump gonna Trump" is allowed to flourish unimpeded. Any critical examination of one issue distracts from the dozen other incidents created in the meantime. This is why news networks love Trump, the cycle simply never ends.

Need some alternative body of policies and principles to organise around. However bad trump etc is, pointing it out is piss poor politics if it's the main/only thing.

Agree. I think people are just waiting for something that breaks him finally (feels like this MTG revelation about hurting his friends has barely registered, for example), but there is no shame, sense of duty or anything the old pedo cockwomble sociopath would ever feel, and the GOP are such a bunch of utter ****s, it feels like nothing will ever get them to a point where they say 'enough'.

Only thing that will work is voting for dems and hoping they actually do something when they get the numbers. I really want the dems to campaign on impeaching and removing Trump in 2026 midterms, and clearly state it's on corruption and obstructing justice (which is easily demonstrable), being a Russian asset (clearly demonstrable).

The sad thing is, the dems are more likely to just let him and his cronies get off of any responsibility for the corruption, murder/war crimes, family and community breakups caused by ICE, etc etc etc, because they always come across as a bunch of spineless shoulder-shruggers who don't want to set a precedent, despite the insanity, corruption and ignoring the judiciary around the cockwomble.

I think they are strongly related. The enthusiasm/support for something far better both focuses the attack on trump and grabs the republican politicians by their 'hearts and minds'.

There is zero chance of Dems being able to remove Trump from office. Doing so would require 67 votes in the Senate, and there is no shot of that happening. The Dems would look stupid by running on something that has no chance of happening.

Impeachment is a meaningless "Who gives a ****"" dog and pony show. Trump was impeached twice and still came back to return to the Presidency after the two impeachments.
