The "LOLCANADA" thread...again
So what's new?
I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet...i'd be shocked if they lost the election now.
Just shows just how incompetent Conservatives are.
Ok than please show me a province were a premier accumulated more debt than all the premiers before him or increased their provincial deficits at the same rate
Im ok with the whataboutism if actually was true
Huh? I just showed you a chart that shows how stupid this perspective is and its mostly special interest groups trying to manipulate people like you.
I have a lot of criticisms of the libs economic policy making but this hyperbolic demonization is so overboard and is just hate fueled propaganda to capture low hanging fruit (thats you).
Funny how Carney is offering a platform that speaks to all the economic realities you purport to want. Just shows what a fundamentally radicalized idealogue you actually are.
I guess this speaks to you way more than a build out and investment strategy...

Nice try but a better example is a family that is only paying the interest on its credit cards and living beyond its means and applies for a loan to take on more debt to buy a RV or Boat
Lol. You said Carney “invented” the basic accounting terms that I then quoted moodys own report using.
Why is it so hard to just admit YOU were the ignorant one instead of this silliness?
your guy doing a GREAT job of differentiating himself from a maple maga trump clone.
Yeah and Mark Carney saying I do not buy groceries I have someone do that for me speaks to the voters
Love him trashing Danielle Smith as well on the west coast
Ill agree bragging about crowd size to much like Trump
lol always lozen with a whataboutism.
But even then, Carney wasn't bragging and grinning about how amazing he is. He was being self-deprecating. He called it strange thing as a PM.

Hmm never brought up the whataboutism that Christo used on look at provincial debt
I love that you have no criticism for his grocery shopping comment or him trashing smith
Oh wait you bought Alberta a pipeline they need to shut up
At least you didn’t infer my ignorance again we all know your better than the rest of us

So I am supposed to vote for the party that accumulated the debt and a new leader that is copying the conservatives ideas ?
Why not vote for the conservative?
Oh he doesn’t have the economic experience . Well never heard that about Justin Trudeau
Lol at doing a "whataboutism" that someone else did a "whataboutism" when you are accused of doing a "whataboutism". Buddy you gotta change the basic way your brain thinks about issues.
I love that you have no criticism for his grocery shopping comment or him trashing smith
I'm not sure why I should criticize his grocery comment. He made an appropriately self-deprecating note about how his personal situation IS a bit weird. Why am I supposed to be mad here?
As for smith I don't know which precise comment you are referring to, but Smith is a horrible politician so I am probably quite happy having her be trashed.
yikes that conservative "survey" is utterly cringe.

It's not whataboutism, it's a direct response to your continuing misframing of debt levels.

You're mostly looking at a massive spike due to COVID response. You can quibble those specific policies if you want to but that should be the focus of your argument about liberal debt burdens.
Also, holy fragility at the comment about Smith. She's out there actively campaigning against him, so of course he wouldn't send her to represent his government. Not exactly a below the belt quip. That was light hearted humour between public rivals.
How the **** someone who endorses conservative slander campaigns and eats up nasty sloganism can manufacture outrage for that is beyond me.

Still curious on an answer on this

Actually there has been lots of discussion around these points. You just don't seem to want to engage in any of it beyond parroting partisan propaganda and misinformation.
Is this Justin Trudeau in the room with us right now?
We have 2 pretty clear issues right now that are housing and market diversification. Neither were caused by the Liberals but also were not fixed under them either.
Looking at the policies, rhetoric, and internal political capital, it's pretty obvious that a Carney led Liberal majority has the best path to accomplishing these things.
lol. You guys pretended to care about “experience” for a decade and went on and on and on about drama teacher and now that it’s your no-work-only-drama guy up against one of the most experienced people in the world suddenly that decade of rhetoric is thrown out the window.

Neither were caused by them? OH I agree on the market diversification was not caused by them but the housing crisis they are the party that brought in tons of immigrants. Justin in his first campaign did promise to remove the GST on New projects but never followed through till 8.5 years later

Oh no question Pierre is a career politician and you can even argue that Harper really never gave him any cabinet posts till later in his career but he has been in the position watching the 9 years of Liberal Lunacy
I have said before if the Liberals win I am comfortable with Carney at the helm its the team around him that scares me . I just hope he reduces Stephen Guilbault to a back bencher
I am also curious who wins the popular vote as my guess it will be the Conservatives and sadly Western Canada will be left behind just as it is under any liberal government . Oh and please shut up about We bought you a pipeline Canada benefits from all those barrels being shipped as well

Like Trudeau, Carney is a left-leaning, climate-obsessed globalist — a Laurentian elitist who sees big government as the solution to most problems, whether real, imagined or self-imposed. He appears ambitious and narcissistic, is often casual with the truth, is compromised by conflicts of interest and seems beholden to the “basic Chinese dictatorship.” He is advised by Trudeau’s coterie of political operatives , led by Gerald Butts, and presides over a reshuffled Trudeau cabinet. The fourth Liberal term he seeks would, with one or two exceptions, pursue the same dysfunctional policies that inflicted a lost decade on our long-suffering yet credulous electorate. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me four times? Seriously?
lozen - as someone who swing trades based on politics news for 80% of their portfolio - did you manage to get back into the market before the jump as trump paused tariffs?
Hopefully Canada will not backed down on planning to do less business with US and diversify more its economy ….
Germany did that mistake with relying too much on Russian gas pre 2022…
Canada got lucky for now but let’s not forget ,
a majority elected trump ,
Still supported by almost all republicans in both houses ,
nothing saves us if those idiots elected another imbecile in the future …

First off the first statement is a lie. I am not a swing trader. I saw a unique situation were I feared Trump would follow through on the tariffs and moved 80% of my portfolio into cash or low interest safe investments . Its the first time I have done that I never touched them during covid either Did I jump back in not a chance as today its paused tomorrow its on again . Ill sit on the sidelines earning 4% till I feel comfortable .

Of course they support him its what all parties do . If you go against him your done. Does that surprise you the same thing happened with the liberals and even the democrats covered for Joe's cognitive decline .
If you think the Dems will win without a major party shift I don't know. Though the GOP may get punished at midterms.
You realize take away the tariff issue and Trump has major support
Im not even going to response …..
Oh you do not think other parties stand behind their leaders on crazy policies
Though I do agree on you hoping Canada diversifies .
Funny I saw a facebook post from Palm Springs saying they love CDN's and come visit and 95% of the posts were sorry never vacationing to the USA
Carney was right that the USA/ Canada relationship will never be the same

Gambling 80% of your portfolio based on your political feelings isn't a great idea even if you only do it occasionally. Like you were bragging a couple days ago as the market crashed. Today it's up 10% as a lot of the tariffs are paused. It's really really really hard to actually make money this kind of way reliably.

I wouldnt say "caused" but definitely needed better alignment. They seemed caught off guard and helpless against NIMBYism and municipal level resistance. They basically stayed out of housing (as the feds almost always have). The trajectory stayed roughly the same as Harpers era outside of low interest COVID spike:

I have said many times Trudeau actually was honest when he said housing is not a federal responsibility. Any leaders plan on affordable housing will not work . As a home builder it’s all about the costs and lack of trades

Yes I remember you telling me that
