The "LOLCANADA" thread...again
So what's new?
I've noticed the Liberals are now ahead in all major polls and Trudeau hasn't even started to campaign yet
well its pretty clear that you are severely misinformed about what I wanted due to your radicalization. You have a lot of assumptions that are proving wrong. Perhaps its time to consider why.
Lol Ok. I'm sure if Poilivere won and just said the exact same things you would be having the same reactions..
I think most Carney supporters thought he would be the adult in the room to develop and negotiate Canada's markets. We saw a good first indication of his ability to do that tactfully with the US....leading the horse to obvious mutually beneficial outcomes. And you think this isnt what we wanted? You are lost in some kind of bubble my friend.
Yes, I'm sure he is playing Trump like a fiddle, just like Trudeau did. It's all part of the master plan!
I don't doubt a good deal will be made, and perhaps a better one than Poilivere could have made. I've said that when this whole thing started. But to think Carney is some master negotiator leading a horse to water is silly and only something a zealot would say.
Feel free to tell us what a good deal in your opinion will be.

I'm sorry that hes doing an alright job so far and is doing and saying things that most of us like.
These takes are embarrassing.
That leading up to the election there was no deplomicy. It was we are in a trade war we need to fight, people were wrapped up in the hysteria and lighting 5k on fire cancelling trips, etc. Now that the election is over the rhetoric has shifted to deplomicy.
Lol at ****ing up "deplomicy" twice. This is objectively false. There was repeated diplomacy previously, both from Trudeau and from Carney - in Trudeau's case the diplomacy even got some tangible delays to the implementation. This whole narrative you've created in your head where the liberals only started what has been an EXTENSIVE diplomacy campaign for months now yesterday is hilariously naive.
How many times did Carney say secure the border? He even mentioned how Canada plans to do more about fentanyl.
LOL. My buddy can't possible still believe - not after the worldwide tariffs - that the primary motivation for tariffs had anything to do with fentanyl? Right? You can't cling to that? Obviously it's a good thing that Carney - like Trudeau - pretends that the fake pretext for the tariffs is something they are going to work on, but just lol at buying into the rhetoric.
Trump says jump and shifty LEAPS.

I don't know anyone has said Carney is some master negotiator who is going to be able to perfectly play Trump. Trump is ****ing crazy. I expect Canada to continue being harmed as it is. But there was wide recognition in Carney that he probably is the best for the job of dealing with Trump, as imperfect as that is likely to be. So far at least, early signs are positive. YOu don't have to invent crazy hypocrisies here.
Sure it was. Not that people weren't angry, but the hysteria was manufactured. It's why people like you were beating the war drums since it all started. I don't think it's a coincidence the demographic that watches mainstream news for background noise all day also views Trump as the number 1 issue for the election.
Canada acted like any other countries in the world .
So trump just made a big candid camera to the entire world just for fun ?

When a foreign government threatens to annex your country before torpedoing generations' worth of good diplomatic relations, it is a good time to be beating the war drums. Calling that hysteria is just cheap rhetoric from someone trying to portray responding to such threats as emotional and irrational.
Of courses. Canadian conservatives are miffed because they got caught holding the bag, and that is probably the main reason for these claims. Like conservatives in many countries, they have been cozying up to nationalism both domestically and in the US. Now, they probably didn't expect US nationalism to suddenly blossom into geopolitical imperialism, but had rather expected it to simply result in short bout of isolationism. However, it is hard to be sympathetic. Playing politics with nationalists has always been an idiot's game.
What defines Woke? the first two minutes
Broken YouTube LinkLozen mad at land acknowledgements is unsurprising.
Oh I am not mad at land acknowledgements but two different ones for a press conference on two missing kids.
Hey I think anybody that makes a land acknowledgement should just give the land back.
Trust me I dont get mad I just have a good laugh at it
That's just the standard land acknowledgment in nova scotia, done in english and french. And if anyone is doing a land acknowledgment, the police which have the power to use force over people - indigenous or not - seems like one of the MOST appropriate places to do a land acknowledgement, so mocking and laughing at it just seems petty.
I think people should be more concerned about two kids that are still missing. Regardless if your agree with the land acknowledgement of not, save that discussion for another time.
lol at shifty pretending to be the adult in the room

I feel for the parents as this case seems strange as the RCMP refuse to look at this as a possible abduction.
The other case that intrigues me is the hockey players sexual assault trial
This is scary: Less than half of conservatives voters trust the election results. Let that sink in. The american-style trumpy election denying BS is here in Canada.

Sadly, the CPC party isn't coming out to firmly deny the conspiracy theories from their members and shut that **** down, instead they seem to be trying to fundraise off it? https://www.cbc.ca/lite/story/1.7529740
Is Poilievre even in charge of his own timbit trump movement anymore?
These are the clowns flirting with separating. Blanchet had a funny line about this that a separatist movement should be based on having your own culture, and oil isn’t a culture
I know off topic, but I posted this in reddit.

I have been reading the feed on key trial moments on CBC. There are two themes going on at once, imo.
One is how the guys basically treated her like trash, and they should not have participated, and it is surprising that some (or even one) of them didn't say "this is not right guys." My thoughts are that she was loaded, and it seems willing to participate in several acts, and instead of maybe saying we need to get this women in a cab, they basically used her as a sex toy. I don't even want to say the guys used bad judgement. It was worse than bad judgement. Did any of them have sisters and possibly think that if it was their sister who was loaded and seemingly open to the sex acts, would they not hope that someone would say..."no.... this is not going to happen"? Would they hope young men with their sister would have more care and compassion.
But, that is my judgement on their morals and behaviour, so the second theme relates to "law" and the law only cares about what can be proven (as it should be). From what I have read I think it will be very difficult for her to make the case that the young men acted without consent. The questions and answers so far seem to lean towards the feeling that EM regrets all that went on, has a poor memory of many things, and only realized that gravity and magnitude of the events after the fact. Her regret then moved to blame. Right now she does not seem to be accepting ownership for her behaviour.
I feel really bad for her and the decisions she appears to have made, but I am also mostly angry at the players for their actions. Clearly actions can be legal and still wrong, degrading, and dehumanizing. What was suggested (getting some of his teammates over for some fun) was just not fair to EM, even is she was willing. NOTE: There is debate on whether McLeod or EM suggested that guys come to the room.
Cliffs. The guys were despicable but I doubt it can be proven they broke any laws regarding consent. The guys will have to live with the world knowing how they behaved, and EM will sadly have to live with the regret of that night.
PS. Since I wrote this her time being questioned has not gone well. I feel bad for her.
I pretty much agree with that take

"Build baby build" sounds kind of trumpy. I like it.
Yes, it is a tongue in cheek reference to drill baby drill.......................
Yeah we know you like it and btw how is this « drill baby drill » going in the U.S. ?
Which was LONG before Trump.
Speaking of drill baby drill...... interesting article on how Canada can tolerate much lower prices than the US.
Trump is not likely to be able to getting people drilling anytime soon.
Oh wow, a bloc riding flips to liberals by a single vote in the recount, up to 170 superminority.
Predictably the more vocal extremes of the - checks notes - HALF of CPC voters who don’t trust elections in Canada is going conspiratorial on X.
I wonder if either of our resident trumpkins is in on that.
