If you watch Rogan's interview with Sanders, it's clear that he's not a "deep right winger." He agreed in the interview with many of Sanders' ideas.

But that makes it even more surprising to me that Kamala passed on the opportunity for an interview with him.

Kamala didn't pass. Rogan refused to accommodate her campaign schedule while additionally pushing restrictions on her that he didn't put on Trump

Rogan typically does long interviews. Sanders' interview was nearly two hours.

Given that, probably wise for Kamala to not do a long interview given that, as I said earlier, she would have trouble being interesting for ten minutes, let alone two hours.

Sanders was a delight to listen to, even though I disagree with him at least as often as I agree with him.

I think she had counsel telling her it might make sense to go to Rogan. Other people telling her it would backfire. Her team tried to arrange favourable conditions. Rogan didn't agree with the propose package.

Her team told her to stay out of it because the risk of backfire was assessed as too high. She stayed out of it.

Nothing to do with calender issues or "campaigning in Texas" or any other excuse. Her team made a call, she had no clue at all (she never had to campaign in any race where anything but leftism was needed to win before), she trusted her team.

Was it the right choice? we can't know. Maybe the team was right and it would have backfired. It's not about "fear". It was a rational assessment of pros and cons , politically.

What i know is that "democrats don't campaign in Texas" was a terrible post hoc attempt to justify something that had no basis in reality.

I was responding to a post that said that Joe Rogan bent over backwards to accommodate Kamala, which is objectively false as Kamala wasn't originally planning on campaigning in Texas and had requested that he travel for an interview
